- Mohammad Wali Tasleem - It's Who We Are - Episode 1 - 4K
"It's Who We Are" honors the stories of it's employees that make up the fabric of Black Rifle Coffee. In this first episode we take a look at Mohammad Wali Tasleem, an Afghan commando, whose compelling journey is nothing short of amazing. From a childhood rife with conflict in his native country, to fighting alongside U.S. Special Forces, then coming to the United States because of the dangers his family faced. Ultimately, Wali found his way back to his brothers at Black Rifle Coffee. This is his story. This is Who We Are.

I worked in oil refineries when I came home from Iraq. I went to a gas station one time to cash my first check from my new job, and my bank was on the opposite side of the state from me (electronic deposit wasn't set up just yet.) The guy at the counter never heard of the company I worked for before. He was suspicious I was giving him a washed check. I told him I reloaded catalytic reactors in a paraxylene unit. I thought this was gonna be futile because who the fuck would know what I am talking about, much less this dude. He smiled at me and cashed my check, stating he knew all about the process of cracking hydrocarbons in a coker unit after the residuals were processed in the paraxylene reactor. He than began to explain in great detail the chemical procedures for the pyrophoric catalyst I was using. He explained shit I DIDNT EVEN KNOW. I asked him how did he know all of that stuff? He told me here in America, he's a cashier, in Pakistan he was a Petroleum Engineer. His degree didn't transfer to American accreditation and he wasn't gonna go back to school for 6 to 8 years to relearn the same shit he wrote some of the protocols for. He wasn't mad. He owned the store and made better money selling gasoline and cigarettes in a shitty gang / drug filled neighborhood than he did as an Engineer where he came from. Said he felt safer here too.

That really sucks though that he felt that re-education wasn't worth it. And as someone who has been in college for WAY too long, I totally get that. I'm glad he was happy though.

They took me back asked me to show them a car and put down additional 2k dollars on it a d helped me finance it. I wish more people could understand that guys like Wali are part of the majority of Muslims on Earth who despise ISIS and the Taliban as much as anyone in the Western world does.
ISIS and people as such where mentioned by the Prophet Muhammed as the 'Dogs of Hellfire'.
As a former muslim who grew up in a muslim household I can tell you many muslims that interact with non muslims tend not to reveal their more problematic sides. If you had no choice but to grow up with them, and be forced to adhere to religious beliefs, you would have a different outlook.
And as someone who grew up muslim, the unfortunate truth is that the type of islam that isis and the taliban preach *is* the purest form of islam. When most muslims say that don’t agree with isis/taliban it’s just that even they cannot handle how oppressive their religion truly is, and/or are in denial/ignorant, or in some cases just flat out lying.

What we don't want is terrorists, drug cartels, human traffickers, and freeloaders that want to live off our tax dollars and exploit us. Otherwise, who fucking cares. Leave me alone, and I'll leave you alone.
Awesome. In my 22 years as a United States Marine I saw nothing but respect for everyone. It was first and foremost based on courage under fire. I don’t give a crap what color, creed, national origin, or religion you are. If you run to the sound of the guns, you have respect in our world.
Crash Semper Fi Crash.
Crash im a civilian, if you run to the sound of fire I think you have everybodys respect. Sure as fuck have mine.
My family greeted Wali on the east coast when they arrived, visited with them. Beautiful family, and a truly impressive guy. So much respect.
You got yourself a great family brother!❤️
All credit to Wali and everyone BRCC from here in the UK, such a great story (particularly in this week of such terrible scenes from Afghanistan on the news). Very, VERY impressive work.
Damn Wali congrats on the move. Public housing can be hard and depressing. Im glad you made it out of there. Good luck to you!!!
Mohammad Wali Tasleem
:) thank you for coming to the USA.
:) You are welcome here.
HOOORAAAHHH!
@Aspiring Pyramidbuilder troll
Nothing wrong with his name at all? No?
@@professionalcriticalthinke9997 hes actually a german nazi
High life no Muslims in the US, that's why
High life learn to use proper grammar before attempting to take the high ground in conversation, native Americans (not called Indians) were defeated, you do know how colonization works don't you? you give stoners a bad name.
the literal definition of a badass, thanks for what you've done for not just us, but for everyone and you're family
As I write this on Thursday, 10 September 2020, feeling immensely discouraged & heavy-hearted as the larger cities in our nation continue to burn after more than 100 days of rioting...
Hope appeared.
Out of nowhere, this video showed up as recommended.
I’m so glad I watched it!!!
It’s life-approach-altering message!
This (as of now) 2 year old video gave me more of a sense of hope than anything I’ve seen, heard, or read since before March 2020.
Wali is an amazing man, an inspirational gentleman, an obviously loving dad, a VERY hard worker, a military veteran & brother -in-arms to many American soldiers, worthy of the real life respect given to a godsend for our American society.
Wali embodies the American Fighting Spirit
He has made me feel really hopeful & encouraged for the first time in the past 6 months.
Since I discovered BRCC, I’ve realllly wanted to get a t-shirt from the shop. Unfortunately, my budget hasn’t allowed it & honestly still doesn’t.
That doesn’t matter right now because of Wali’s hard work and all y’all BRCC folks pulling him & his family into the BRCC family, I’m gonna take a leap of faith and order a shirt from y’all.
My only request (and I’ll add a note when placing my order) is that Wali receives every possible spare penny that can be squeezed out of my purchase.
Also, I’ve gotta tell ya...
I LOVE BRCC canned Espresso Mocha!!!
I’ve FINALLY found the perfect cold mocha coffee & have permanently switched from SBs & DDs sickeningly sweet swamp juice.
Thank you to every single one of you!!
I work in Law Enforcement, I'm not a very emotional guy, in fact I very rarely cry. This is powerful, I cried. God bless you, BRCC, and God bless this Patriot.
VICSKIM949. It showed me what kind of Company this really is 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 AWESOME...I'm a retired. medic of 25yrs and I welled up as well..😅
I pretty much did too man, definitely teared up.
i worked fire and ems, this made me tear up too. this is what our country is about. its a shame in the beginning nobody would let their kids around his not knowing his story. that broke my heart.
You sound emotional to me
weird flex but ok
Welcome to America Wali ! Thank you for your service and much respect and appreciation for ya!
Michael Rodriguez traitor.
@@inkblot5497 LOL
@@inkblot5497 lmao this guy fought along side us special forces and your telling me he's a traitor?
ILoveRamen yes. don't give a fuck about military service in this context, even John McCain served.
@@inkblot5497 that's not how it works bud
Just got my first order from BRCC and one of the things was a T-shirt. Very proud to wear something that Wali has had input on and put in the hard work for.
Much love and respect
"He's an honest man. He's worked hard."
Understatement.
I simply love a hard working person that comes to America and flourishes. THAT is what made this country great. I love new Americans, they are so filled with hope, regardless where they come from. God bless you Mohammed and your family...
Brian Beck 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🔥🔥🔥 -HL
I'm with you that is a great man brcc hired we need more people like that 👍👍👍
I'll raise a mug to that. Amen!
I became a customer because of this story. My mother and I are the only coffee drinkers in the families. Im a combat vet and I didnt know they had this kind of depth to the company.
USMC Semper Fi!!!!
I am overwhelmed by the respect you have for your brother in arms, and I have to say thank you. This is what the United States of America is about! We are supposed to be united no matter what we believe, look like, or how crazy you can be. Plus we are in the great state of Texas. Thank you for your service and your belief in the Constitution. Hope your company and families stay strong.
This is hands down one of the best stories I’ve ever heard. These are the people that can change the word and have the mind and heart to do so just not the power make a humble man like this president see the changes he can bring over night. Thank you for your service
Thank you Wali and thank you BRCC for taking care of this great warrior!
There is no telling how many soldiers made it back home due to Wali's hard work and integrity. Happy Veteran's Day to Wali, everyone at BRCC, and all Veterans in CONUS & Abroad.
Yooooo I'm about to cry. The amount of respect and support is just beautiful. Y'all gave him love which is why he gives 100% all day, everyday. Great job guys
Oh wow, this is the best story ever. God bless you guys for providing for him. People here not even military, do not know what it's like to have it rough. I served in the 80s, I know. Had 2 and a half months to go before coming home when all hell broke loose. Most people want a peaceful life like this man (and for his family). Great story, stay safe my fellow brothers! And by the way, I'm 4th generation military on my dad's side, even his brothers and sisters. Only had 2 cousins that died while serving.
I had a Pakistani friend in high school. He was Catholic, his family came to America to flee persecution. He wore wranglers and redwing pecos boots with polo shirts. He listened to Metallica, Pantera and Willie Nelson. Good dude, great family.
bmotx Pretty sure that guy was Mexican not Pakistani 😂😂 just sayin bro
bmotx oh yeah lots of cool Mexican metal heads!!!
Thats what the fuck I'm Talking about!!!! Great Video
Video Addict I saw this video, the same thought hit me! This video is fucking awesome!
Video Addict ya!!!!
That is bad ass... I have even more respect for all the allied forces overseas of all the Afghan natives, both friendly and hostile, are like him.
Video Addict yes sir my feeling exactly
I love the Ethos of this company..they are all looking out for one another, and dare I say having a good time whilst they do so. I hope your company goes from strength to strength. Respect to you all.
as a muslim from the middle east that migrated to the states at the age of 19 i appreciate seeing things like this because that's the truth we appreciate and value our life here more than most people i meet daily we love this country and would die for it without thinking. i have what i have because of this great country and i would give it all for this country and BRCC is my new favorite retailer. thank you
As a Brit, who is normally presented with negative opinions towards immigration by Americans in the news, it is so refreshing to see a video like this. Along with an incredible comment section that is full of respect. I applaud all of you, keep it up! 👍👍
Callum Stephens thanks so much for the kindness and positivity! -HL
NmRcTrailingNOutdoors Here- have some of these.
..…..............!!!!!
The fuck is a "Muslem" and "Caliphet"? Also all religions are murderous, that's kind of the point of them.
Callum Stephens when you hear somebody spewing nonsense about our immigration policies you need to remind them that the US accepts more legal immigrants every year than any other country in the world.
Callum Stephens Well the fact that the US accepts more legal Immigrants than most of Europe combined and that the services these Immigrants are provided sustain them until they either educate themselves or find good paying jobs is more than any country in the world! You do realize America is made up of immigrants from every country in the world, we have the largest communities of people from other countries than all!
Man, I'm glad he & the boys found each other.
I remember talking to my father about Vietnam and he was showing a few pictures which one of was two South Vietnamese soldiers. I asked him who they were and he said he was a Captain in the Army he was a hill commander and he said they where his assigned body guards. I have never seen my father ever cry but when I asked me what happened to them he looked really sad and he chocked up and said they where probably killed after US left Vietnam. I think to this day he thinks about them and wishes he could have brought them back to US.
Wali you are a true hero.
Thank you for this! It brought tears to my eyes because you gents are not just a company, you're a family and you take care of your own, on both the battlefield and in the work place!
Man, Wali, may I call you Wali? Welcome to America, you are what the American dream is about and thank you for your work alongside our troops for so long.
You're aware that he's probably never going to read your comment.... right?
INF1D3L010 you're aware it doesn't matter, right? GG internet troll, GG
Depends who you ask, bud.
Im pretty sure there is a decent chance that he'd read the comments of a video that he is in. There is far less of a chance that your arrogant ass would have read the comments but hell, here we are.
Hard to watch this really. Amazing how people judge people by their job or their nationality. Guys like this deserve to be here more than 90% of everyone else.
Thank you so very much for your brave loyalty Mohammad!I am so very proud to number you and your family among my countrymen. May you and your wife dance at your great granchildren's wedding! From Michael a friend in Texas.
I don't drink coffee and I am an absolute fan of BRCC. This is just one more reason why.
A few of my buddies with CSOR " Canadian Special Operations Regiment" used to talk about Wali and how if you needed to know anyone that's the man, good to know he's still around out of the sandbox, and living the dream
Thank you for your service Wali, glad to have you and your family here in the USA! Thank you BRCC for making a difference and standing up for what matters!
You should have seen these guys in action. Not that well trained but determined.
He was a Commando, Commandos are quite well trained, my unit helped stand up on of their Kandaks
I think the Afghan soldiers were definitely more courageous than Iraqi ones.
Love BRCC. Thank you for posting this!!
God Bless All of You for doing such an honorable thing for him. I was in Vietnam 1966-67, and the bonds we made are for a lifetime. Keep up the wonderful work you guys do!
Guys like Wali are the ones I want coming in to our country. He is the type that makes us better and stronger.
ElectroSalvo, you just have to be a citizen. There might be a unit set up in the Marines for residents in the US but who are not citizens yet. I would ask your local recruiting office.
You only have to be a legal residence, meaning you have a Green Card. Citizenship is not required.
Kenny Hassal To bad the native Americans had no concept of unity, the natives killed each other, they allied together to kill each other, they allied Europeans to kill each other etc
If this video doesn't scream America then I don't know what will!!
This sorta screams Afghanistan
Unknown Person It screams Freedom to me. Doesn't matter where you're originally from as long as you're willing to work hard and flourish here with everyone else.
It Screams, Wali has done more for the GWOT then you have... thumb thug thug somewhere else...
screams brotherhood
@Aspiring Pyramidbuilder the part where literally everyone started coming here centuries before it was written
Wow, that gave me chills. I am so happy for him that he and his family made it here safely and are with good people.
Glad to have you here buddy. Much love!🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
