Don't listen to the haters. My family is American/Dutch and my relatives over there absolutely love the Americans! They llove the Americans but they only like the Brits! Lol! My uncle has some memorabilia of the 101 airborne that he cherishes. He remembers life under German occupation and it was hell.

My wife’s grandfather was in the Pacific campaign. He was an amazing man; he would only talk to me about the war. My wife’s family thought it was so strange because he hadn’t spoken about it for decades. I guess he saw something in the 12Bravo that just returned from Iraq (03-05) that he recognized. I will forever be grateful for his wisdom. He was an amazing man

Thank you to all of these brave men for the sacrifices you made. I love and appreciate every one of you. Thank you for protecting our country and our freedom. I miss my Grandfather greatly, who was an Army Sargent under Gen Patton, and he fought in the Arden offensive. He said to me 40 years later, "They said they'd never forget what we did, and they told us this will never happen again. Oh, how quickly they forgot, and lied to us. They almost immediately put us in harms way again in Korea, then again in Vietnam." He said "There's always money for war, but the rich that want the wars for profit never have to go fight. It's the worst possible thing that people can do to each other." Thank all of you for your service! I pray that some day, these horrific wars will stop, and people will be able to love each other, rather than kill each other. Until that day, Thank you to our brave soldiers that stand for our freeoms. ❤

I shared a lot of my experience with him and talked about how as hard as it was, it was nothing like what he went through. How he and the other guys were fighting to save the world. His only response was "Yep." No boasting or comparing. Just knowing that they did what needed to be done when they were called on.
