Senior Chief Shannon Kent served multiple tours in Iraq, participating in numerous special operations that contributed to the capture of hundreds of enemy insurgents. A specialist in cryptologic warfare and fluent in seven languages, she not only paved the way for greater inclusion of women in Special Operations Forces, but was also one of the first women to pass the Naval Special Warfare Direct Support Course. Kent was killed in action in Syria Jan. 16, 2019, and posthumously promoted to senior chief petty officer.

Shoutout to BRCC for properly using their platform that they've built for the right reasons. These are the companies we need to support, and these are the stories we NEED to be telling.
Fair winds, Chief Kent.
Hell, I gave up coffee when I got kidney problems. But after this video, I’m buying BRCC stuff to give to family and friends. Thank you for the tribute to this outstanding woman. 😮
They still dropped Rittenhouse like a bad habit.
BRC… used to support. But do research.
Woke.
I support them even more now. Thanks for the information. @@TexasRox
@@Blank55600 please don't compare American heroes to some kid.
The people you never hear of, the people no one talks about, the people that never say no. I'm retiring this year after 39 years. I wish I would have had the honor to have met Chief Kent. I respect the way her peers honor and respect her. Fairs Seas Chief, may the wind always fill your sails.
Thank you, Sir, may you thoroughly enjoy a well deserved next 40 years as you need and as you want with total permission to change your mind and play hookie at any moment!!
I’m a retired ISCS who worked with the Teams and DIA. Chief Kent was by all accounts a stellar CPO, great analyst and destined for greatness. The Mess took a huge loss when she was killed. Fair winds sister.

💯 God bless Shannon Kent and the Entire kent family for the gift we all have today and the sacrifice they have given .
What an incredible human being , mother, wife , Sailor and American!!
May Chief Kent rest in peace and God bless Joe Kent and his kids…
She will NOT be forgotten!!!
Thank you for sharing this incredible story about a true warrior!!
God Bless ….
Shannon was a year ahead of me in high school and her brother was a year behind me. We grew up in a small town and everyone knew everybody. We all worked at the same summer job together for years. She was probably one of the smartest, nicest, most all American girls around.
9/11 happened and our small town sent a lot of it’s sons and daughters into harms way. Shannon and her brother Mike both answered the call.
I don’t know her husband Joe, but he was right what he said about women. I served with some of them in combat and they deserve their place in history.
If you want another story to tell, do one about Captain Jennifer Harris, USMC. She was the pilot of a medevac CH-46 helicopter, call sign Morphine 12 that was shot down 7 February 2007 in Al Anbar Province Iraq, killing all 7 Marines aboard. Capt. Harris was the aircraft commander, and when it was hit by a surface to air missile, she fought like hell to keep the aircraft in the flying and protect her crew. If you don’t believe it, the enemy recorded it on video. All of us saw that video and most will never forget it. We got them back though.
I hope the savages that got Shannon met the same end.
Thank you for your service.

I had just left Mambij that day or day prior. Made it back to my base and was on the phone with my wife when signal was cut from the base due to this horrific incident. We were told Americans were killed but was uncertain of how many and who they were. I jad the honor of volunteering for their home going ceremony that night. The amount of people in attendance showed just how loved they were. May God bless their families and comfort them in their times of grief!
It's Memorial Day 2024. Remembering all the fallen. Rest in Peace Shannon Kent.
When was she killed? How has Uncle Ben retaliated?
Her Story should be made into a movie.
A movie about an actual strong woman, not a mary sue who is the bestest thing ever. Fat chance.
@@blyman7170 Hollywood: So you want strong wo-man huh? Here's one with 6' 2", 250lbs, packing 9inch and can bench 300.
absolutely!
Absolutely! But only if they bring in her teammates to guide the actors and do it right. They have a way of screwing stories up otherwise
Yes, agreed, but not by Hollyweird.
There are people who will say females compromise their teams and say "D.E.I. means D.I.E." Chief Kent proves that wrong. She is a true American hero!!
Fair Winds Chief. Scotty and I served together in Afghanistan from 2004 - 2009. Rest easy, Brother.
Just bought her book brother. All thanks to this video. This is how we honor the fallen, and those who have served. We hear their stories, read their stories, and tell their stories to others. Long live these incredible warriors 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Well that was hard to watch without tearing up. God bless you Chief Kent and all the family.
Hats off to one of the toughest and baddest moms we may never of heard of . Respect n love but most of all a huge thank you for keeping my family safe
Hoowah, Senior! Your devotion to our country is legendary! God bless you and your family!
Just bought book… I don’t know what else to say besides THANK YOU from our family. What a hero.
What a terrible loss. An inspiration to all who have served or will ever serve. May the angels watch over her children.
Wow! Just purchased the book from Australia. Did 18 years, many in int-related roles and eldest son still serving at senior level. Heard many stories, most of which cannot be repeated but this one is exceptional. Deep respect to her, her family and her military family.
Just finished the book. Wow! Such tenacity, intellect and bravery, and all with the ability to emphasise and love her fellow human beings.
Senior Chief Shannon Kent 🇺🇸 Thank you Joe & Marty for sharing this with us 👊🏻 you & the other fallen veterans will never be forgotten.
Fair winds and following seas Chief. Thank you for your dedication to our nation. Blessings to your family, hollow though they may seem in the face of such loss. Thank you for telling her story.
Joe Kent, my condolences to you and your family. May your life as a single father be filled with many blessings and joys with your children. God bless all of you, always! 🙏🏻✝️⛪️
Keep the legacy and stories of warriors from fading into obscurity. Thank you for sharing her story. Simper Fidelis
A great woman that we all should know her. God bless her and her family. Thank you for telling Shannon's story.
I am proud to be an American because of selfless patriots like Chief Kent. Truly a brave soul and America is safer today because of her efforts on the front lines.
Shannon Kent was a beautiful and heroic Lady. I admire and love Shannon Kent very much ❤ May God bless Joe and his sons
Thank you for sharing her life and commitment.
They dont make many like her. A true American hero, a woman to be proud of. Those boys will be in my prayers, and what an incredible husband.
She was a member of one the most classified Tier 1 Units in JSOC. Her husband Joe first met her while serving at the same organization. Shannon Kent is a legend. Isaiah 6:8 “Send Me” - Motto of the Northern Virginia Special Mission Unit 🟠 The elite soldier spy’s of JSOC.
No she wasn't.
No it’s the motto of the ISA. The Activity. That’s where the motto “send me” comes from. Look it up.
And Shannon was 100% in the ISA, which is one of the most secretive units in JSOC. God bless her soul 🙏
@@JohnSmithyy365 No she wasn't. ISA is Army, she was Navy. SHe belonged to CMA 66 at Fort meade. She supported JSOC wasn't part of it.
@@bebe1979 are you sure? Just watched an interview of her husband Joe, and said they went through the same training for the ISA. But I could definitely be wrong, just curious. Not trying to argue either
I am humbled that we have such heroes among us, who stand in the breach when needed. My hope is that one day America will be worthy of them.
RIP to a fallen sister from across the pond and much respect to her spouse, Joe. He has great strength to tell Shannon’s story. What a legacy for their kids. 🫡🇬🇧
As a former Marine, i learned cqb while i was with my anti terrorist unit, long distance shooting while with my infantry unit as a DM then learned my third language thru the Marine corps. Went to college then worked for a three letter agency. I thought i did something with my life until I read her story. It would take me 2 lifetimes to accomplish what she did let alone be respected as she was and still is. I said it then and i still stand by it today, America lost an irreplaceable person that day and we became just a little bit weaker without her.
A "former" Marine? And what "anti-terrorist unit" do you identify with?
@@teddycadle3387frl cause I’ve never heard a marine say former 😂😂
@@teddycadle3387Former Marine is the proper term for a Marine that's been honorably discharged. Also the USMC has FAST: Fleet Anti-terroism Security Team. It's part of the Security Forces Regiment.
RIP,Shanon, Thank you for your SERVICE!❤🇺🇸 🇺🇸🇺🇸
It's profoundly sad, yet proud for her. I will buy this book and read her story and carry her patriotism and love for her family in my heart for her.
I have no words, except thank you. That just sucks that it doesn't seem enough for a person owed so much.
I have no words except for Thank You for Your Service Ma’am
RIP Chief Kent and all the Unknown Special Operators Thank You for your Sacrifice!
😂
Hearing Joe Kent’s perspective on the Shawn ryan show was heartbreaking. If you haven’t heard that podcast I highly recommend. Thank you for your service shannon.
I have heard about her before but after watching this I ordered the book so I might know more about her . And now she will be one of many I shall never forget , because if they are not forgotten and people remember and speak about them , they are never really gone and will live on in spirit .
My sincerest condolences to Joe Kent and his family. May Shannon Kent rest easy.
Thank you for telling Chief Kent’s story. God bless her family!

Rest peacefully Shannon Kent! You’ve made your country proud!
Thank you Chief Kent and all the other soldiers who keep us safe. Thank you BRCC for sharing their stories, we must keep sharing these stories of courage and valour
I remember meeting her whenever she was over at Oceana she was so sweet so kind and extremely intelligent. I met her at a Christmas party and then whenever I would go to Oceana I would run into her sometimes. I met her whenever she was the first class.
Fair Winds and following Seas Senior Chief!!
All gave some. Some gave all.
Thank you for telling the stories of America’s fallen heroes!
Gone, but never forgotten.
RIP Chief Shannon Kent.
We should strive to be a country deserving of these extraordinary people and their sacrifices. We aren’t doing it, but we should try.
Ive never heard of her, this is why telling stories is soo important. We cant remember them if we dont know about them🙏
Thank you for telling her story🙏
Wow! Count me in for that book. What a story in such a short video. I’m sure there are so many more as well that either haven’t been told, or can’t be told. Shannon sounds like she was an amazingly strong woman, both mentally and physically. Some people just have that in them. Never forgotten!
Thank you so very much the absolute best of of our great country because of you and those few like you.
Thank you for leading the way, Chief.
God bless you brother and God keep and protect your wife Shannon’s eternal soul and thank you will never be enough for the sacrifices you and your wife have made for this nation, but thank you, and Shannon thank you!
While others slept, you kept the watch.

Hard watch without a tear in the eye. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Chief Kent! There are a lot of “Americans” left, and we are incredibly proud and grateful that u were courageous enough to do this job to protect us! You Ma’am will not be forgotten!
What a truly compelling story and, now, legacy. Where do we find such unique souls like Shannon and Joe? Will their children grow-up to mirror them, share their intellect and character? So blessed to have them as fellow Americans. God bless you Shannon. Thank you for all you contributed and may you rest in peace.
I can imagine their two children when they found out that their parents, both father and mother, were members of the most elite special forces in the American special forces community. how proud they are
Thank you Shannon for your service! May the grace of the Lord be upon your family!

May you rest in peace Senior Chief Kent, "Fair winds and following seas" shipmate ~ it's never easy for any family to lose such a strong and devoted individual, but this one hit home.
Rest in Peace Senior Chief Kent. She along with so many others paid the ultimate sacrifice. My sincere apologies to her family, Joe Kent and her boys. I also have to ask the question, how have I not heard about this before? I truly hope she is remembered forever.
Im reading the book right now, Amazing story. God Bless the Kent Family

Thank you for sharing her story. Such selflessness. 🙏 🦅🌎⚓️
Thank you BRCC for bringing us important stories like Shannon's. I pray for her family to somehow be able to live each day without her.
Definitely an unsung hero. There is so many people's stories of their sacrifices that will never be told. I try to learn everything and as much as i can about these people. These brave men/women who are giving up their lives so i can have one with my kids, you are always going to be my heroes. Rest in Peace.

What an inspiration. Joe thank you for sharing this amazing woman’s story.
Thanks for getting these stories out there!

Thank You For Your Service Senior Chief 🙏🏼❤️
Wow I've never heard of her. I want to hear more women's combat stories cause I want to hear everyone's. Condolences to her family and thanks for what you do for our country
What a great woman.
As a Veteran, much respect to Shannon. She was a true hero. It breaks my heart that the Navy denied her request to become a psychologist due to her previous cancer diagnosis. She would have been alive today to raise her children. So sorry for the families loss.
Damn, having a hard time keeping it together here. And to be so young to leave a family behind. I'm gutted. Just bought a copy for myself because this is a story I definitely want to know about. Never forget.
Gutted, same. Will buy book soon
God bless you for being who and what you stand for.
She is an inspiration to all who want to serve!!!!
Amazing woman!!!!❤❤❤❤
God bless you Shannon thank you soo much for serving for country in so many ways, rest in peace Shannon, you will forever be a hero and a bad ass
I just ordered the book and I so much hope that the honor of her life's story gets made into a movie. It could be an amazing tribute that likely many more would know of. But, then again, I wonder to myself if there's a female in Hollywood that's worthy of the role? Or, would they woke it up dishonorably?? I found out about Shannon's story through BRCC quite a while ago, and I'm thankful to them for carrying the flag forward. ~Frank
Great video & story . black rifle coffee Company have a good memorial day. To all the veterans that have served past and present thank you.
