As a fan since 07, to me, it's closing a chapter of Bigbang. Disbandment is not out of the equation yet but it could just be that they are long gone from the traditional kpop route, like promotions, genre etc, they used to do before, especially everything that MADE in 2015-18 (if I get the years right) was. This may also be the last BB song until who knows when because they are probably planning to concentrate on their personal careers. Either way, it also symbolizes adulting and graduating from 20's and on to their 30's, the rite of passage as Korean men who have gone through military, and generally as people.
Bittersweet but I see positivity in the song, fan or not. Thanks for reacting to this song.

I think the ones that consider ourselves V.I.P.s or at least kind of fans os BB can say that this comeback was really different, and not only because is like 99% this is the last song and the last video they are giving to us but bc of the way the song itself make us feel!
the best way I can explain myself is using what an IG account post about this, where they express how the song feels like a goodbye when they compare it with "Blue" and remark the fact that how even being a "sad comeback song" we still have a difference in the rhythm and a sort of catching chorus BUT not in this song! It's like it gives you this feeling of sadness but like some kind of comforting hug at the same time ... I don't know

BIGBANG and 2NE1 are like my parents in kpop. They're the reason why i'm listening to kpop. I'm just 19 yrs old but i've been a VIP for 9 years now. So hearing this is definitely something that makes me happy and sad at the same time to like experience this now after what they've been through because i've seen those tough times. This was definitely a very special comeback that is solely for VIPs like me. I'm also glad seeing a lot of reactors trying to get to know BIGBANG now eventhough it might be late but actually it's never too late to stan bigbang.
I actually didn't feel like this would be a Goodbye song but more of like them saying goodbye to their past traumas and starting a new life just like what TOP said in his part. i also thought that TOP would keep his mask on the whole video that's why when he removed it and look at the camera I may have just died right there. TOP looks honestly so hurt, with his facial expression and his lyrics which hurt me also, especially because I've seen what they have gone through the past years and how much it affected them but TOP saying that he'll leave it all behind and start a new life, I definitely feel happy and proud for him because he deserves it. also with GD's part for me, the vibe that I got was that he's just sad and angry that this happen to them by the way he reminisces about the glorious days that they had which I understand because of all they've been through. Daesung, on the other hand, felt emptiness because of his scenes, lyrics, and him seating alone in one of the 4 chairs. and lastly, for Taeyang I feel like out of all them he's the one who is more content should I say. like he's content but hopeful at the same time especially because he has his own family, a baby coming on the way. yk so honestly this doesn't at least for me feels like a 'goodbye' song. what I think is that this may or may not be their last for now because they'll focus on their solo careers for now especially TOP since he has already mentioned in an interview that he's preparing to release a solo album. So, I feel like they'll just go on hiatus again but not a permanent goodbye just temporary, at least that's what I'm hoping.
And maybe I'm reaching, no I actually am but the four chairs + GD's personal chair... I mean if you know what I mean. ANYWAYS, this was such a beautiful, sad and happy just emotional comeback. It's been so freakin' long that I'll take whatever they put out lmao but honestly wished they had more songs but at the same time, I understand why it's only one song to make it more special.
Also, i don't want to compare this song with 2NE1's goodbye song because i feel like it's not a permanent goodbye. Maybe i'm just in denial but i've seen a lot of ppl saying this is their final song and i actually hate it. It'll be such a hard thing to accept if ever that happens esp i already lost 2ne1. also honestly feel like that part when GD said 'I miss the boy and girl who cried and laughed' feels like referencing to BIGBANG and 2NE1 yk they both have been through a lot and been together for years now. Anyways, this was such an emotional comeback for me but at the same time i feel proud and happy for them and will always be a VIP. THAT FIVE LINES AT THE END!!!

You're right, The pain that you can see in their eyes were never been seen before from their previous mv tracks. True that depression is cause by the past and anxiety is cause by the future and this is really about reminiscing and being able to fulfill their promise. But you know what, it feels like I was waiting so long and been holding to that promise and been glad when I heard their comeback date announcement but after last night, I was trying to process if I've got the right intention of the song and the mv or I'm just tripping between the happiness of meeting them again and the fear of them saying this as their last activity. I don't know what exactly I'm supposed to feel about their comeback but the song is strongly not comforting for me, it caused me so much pain. 😭😭 Sorry for this long narrative and if I sound like I'm venting out. The first time I heard Daesung's voice again after that long hiatus feels so nostalgic like I've never heard anyone sounded like him on KPOP. He's so underrated but I'm just glad to see him again. Tabi's lyrics, unmasked scene and looking straight to the camera what made me burst into tears. That man has been through so much and I can see it in his eyes. I know everyone has been in their ups and downs and literally been cursed out by a lot but them being brave to release a song even though some were unsure about them really made me proud. That little smile from Taeyang just assured me that I know somehow they finally know what path they want to take and I'll be still here to support them even if this is The Goodbye or a long wait again.

@@LintonWilson I'm just sad because they got me into kpop when I was 14 years old back in 2009 when I heard lollipop with 2ne1. I'm a big fan of Sandara Park/Dara during those days and I got to know Bigbang as well because of their interactions and they were on the same company then I just came to love their music as well. I grew up being influenced a lot by their fashion and their songs and listening to their new release track really felt like everything flashed right back to my eyes. 😭
TOP’s whole verse and that sullen look stab right through the soul .. I’mma keep myself hopeful whatever the future holds

A sad and brutal fact is that TOP doesnt wish to be an idol anymore for now and wants to work solo. Maybe in the future we will see them as a group again.
Yes TOP was on the moon with bunny mask, YB was on the ship, Dae had the long curly hair and was sitting in one of the four chairs at one point and GD had the rainbow long hair and was wearing glasses at one point, there is alot of symbolism in this MV also 5 flowers, 5 chairs, and they ended with the MADE logo with 5 lines.
This video is hauntingly beautiful because the pain in their eyes, as they kept their promise, is also ours. It thrilled me when Coachella 2020 announced their performance, because it was Bigbang rising from the ashes (again). However, after TOP’s magazine issue interview, the release date (4/5) and time (non charting hours), it was obvious that this song would be a personal letter to VIP, but… I wasn’t ready for Taeyang’s first breathy notes, GD’s wet eyes reliving the magic WITH us (1:36), the hallowed look TOP cast over his shoulder, and Dae's desolate walk away. How could any of us be? We are mourning the death of an era we can only return to in our memories, but not Bigbang as musicians. New roads, ones no longer paved with flowers await, and VIP is still along for the journey.
Been a VIP since college 2007 when Lies came out. This is honestly the saddest I've ever felt listening to a Bigbang song. Really heartbreaking knowing that it could be the goodbye. Whatever it is that the members decide to do, will support them either as a group or individually and Still Life would be the perfect addendum to their legendary 16 years.
For most long time VIPs, we've seen this group go through everything and grow with them too. The MV and lyrics is like a camera roll of memories we have with BIGBANG while at the same time leading us to a new chapter of their lives. This is like an Ode to our Youths.
Each of them has a story to tell on their parts but for me, TOP's part is so emotional, symbolic, and just a cathartic release. The way he removed his mask after the lines and while singing "For Life" is like him showing the k-media platforms who censored his face with towers for so long that he is back and he doesnt need to hide his face anymore. For years, people has condemned him for the past issues and even used his good looks as a weapon to attack him to the point he needs to hide his face all the time. He is better and he is choosing life, to live it freely and with happiness. 💛
Thank you for being real about not having much thoughts on this since you haven't really known the group for a time. Honesty is always appreciated over fake sentiments and reactions so thank you for that. For us, STILL LIFE is the door to the next chapters of BIGBANG. A lot to unpack for this MV, from the imagery to lyrics. When I first listened to it i thought it was a farewell song, but then I noticed their outfit changes throughout the mv, throughout the seasons, so i was thinking maybe it is indeed and goodbye but not to their fans, not to the industry, just a goodbye to them, their old self but again the last frame desaturating maybe means that they are dropping the curtain forever. BB as a group and individuals have gone through so much, seeing TOP rapping AND singing about himself, what he wants for the future, what is been reflecting on for so long made my heart ache. Ive never thought I wouldve missed Daesung, GD and Taeyang singing voices so much before listening to Still Life. The song gives me very Beatle-esque vibes-especially the bridge reminds me of Hey Jude-. I love Still Life wholeheartedly but i hate what I feel while listening to it, its really bittersweet for some reason.

Tops own words while he has left YG he will still work on future Big Bang projects he also is starting his own entertainment company and is releasing a solo album which will be presented in the form of a movie. So I do not think this the end of Big Bang but rather yet a new beginning putting the past traumas and drama behind and focusing towards a more mature positive future.
As a korean big bang fan, bigbang is my childhood. I grew up with them and listening to this song makes me nostalgic with all the memories I have made with bigbang and their songs.

As a VIP since Haru Haru 2008, I was really hoping this was the beginning of more BIGBANG. I feel like we get a bit of Tempo (his pre/early debut name) with the first of TOP's part and I love it.
If you want to really know what's going on, see the lyrics of this song. It is heartbreaking. BIGBANG is coming back, but this time without Seungri. Now, they are reminiscing the good old times together, where they rule the world with KPOP music. You will surely understand why they are so respected and loved hardly by the KPOP industry. They are the standard and trademark of KPOP hiphop and RnB type of music. KPOP newbies just don't know about all of this. But if you get to know them and giving yourself a chance, then you'll understand why they are the KINGS OF KPOP. My respect is on you BIGBANG. I hope this isn't goodbyes
This song were basically an interpretation when they look back on their glorious days and such, they've been through many hardships and it's time for them to moving on to a new chapters, it might be not the same as before but for me it's a sign that they will make a new beginning. I've been a fans since 2007 and i cried so hard when scenes there's a flashback of GD standing in the spotlight where there's a flood of lightstick (that means it's when their peak performance).

Hey Linston, it's been a while! It's good to see you have a new bigbang song to react to. While this song is emotional, especially for fans who have been following the group for years, I also found it comforting. Yes, this felt like a goodbye but a goodbye to the past as they welcome the future. I think we'll get solo stuff from the members (definitely from T.O.P as he said in an interview) before they come back together to release something. I saw fans speculating that maybe they'll release singles during the remaining 3 seasons & I think that would be cool. As for actual information, we know the members love their fans & the group. If I'm not mistaken, after the video, YG themselves clarified that bigbang will continue so it's not the end yet.

Yes, it feels like a “goodbye” and it breaks my heart. Together and separately they have been through a lot. I feel like they are tired of it.
I am 71 and have seen many come and go. They are now one of my top 5 all time favorite groups.

GD is still out there, teary eyed, longing for all of them to be back together. Taeyang's ship has sailed somewhere and flowers are blooming on it, which signifies new life he found with his family now. Daesung is somewhere with someone (probably it represents Seungri.) And T.O.P has already moved on. He decided to be on his own, hence why it looked like he's on the moon. Also a note that he's wearing rabbit mask. There's folklore about rabbit on the moon and it's probably also a reference to GD & T.O.P logo.
And there's a scene where it looked like flowers blooming or fans cheering on GD's part so I believe he also missed the fans since he said "I miss the boy and girl who cried and laughed." and "I keep remembering those glorious and loving days."
I think what I remember most about BB was in college when they came back with Last Farewell and all my friends (boys and girls) at school was asking each other if we listened to it. We all agreed it was gonna be another hit!
This time was right after they became the biggest thing in S.Korea after Lies song.

if your asking who's my favorite bigbang member is Daesung and G Dragon, but somehow when the first time I heard I the song I cry coz its like they saying goodbye to us...it hurt really hurt...the lyric the symbolism, all there's a meaning now they do the separate way and it going to be long time as they were one again, and it seem they really hurt coz loosing member, like loosing harmony...really heart breaking...
I'm not sure if this has been pointed out somewhere but GD's line when he says "after the rain, instead of sadness comes a happy end" has a double meaning in Korean which I think is genius and shows how much thought has been put into the lyrics.
In korean the lyrics are "비 갠 뒤에 비애(悲哀) 대신 a happy end"
비 갠 sounds like "began"
뒤에 the way gd pronounces it sounds like "the end"
비애 means sorrow/unhappy
"대신 a happy end" means the same "instead a happy end"
So basically if we combine all of that together, the lyrics can also mean something like "there was the beginning and the end but instead of sadness, there is happiness"
And just to make it clear, this is an interpretation I also read when reading through korean comments which I thought was too beautiful not to share.

I wasn't VIp but back then I listened to bigbang too. They have different music styles than any regular kpop group have. Bigbang GD invented lightstick, became the first idols to compose and writing music. They have huge influence in south korean music industry. Even many korean celebrities and kpop idols are their fans too.

This song signifies Goodbye that all VIPs worldwide r heartbroken, they r highly loved, gaining new fans even during their long hiatus. Their highly anticipated Comeback (with no promotion) has received a million pre-orders alone fm China within few hrs. When YG Entertainment announced their comeback, YG share price shot up again. The song is nostalgic, sentimental, meant for fans and non fans alike It never fails to make me cry❤️ (btw iKON, WINNER and TREASURE reacted to it on BB's channel, Haruto and Yoshi cried😢💔 everyone looked moved ) it speaks volumes, you don't even have to know their story to understand it.
The part that got me the most is T.O.P's part, the symbolism of him being "the white rabbit on the moon"

Although i don't know T.O.P that much but I know enough to understand he's been through hell and high-water, to the point where he pondered taking his own life 💔 he gave everything to his fans, his group, his music. So it's like he "sacrificed" his life for the sake of everyone's joy and his career, but now it's time for him to focus on himself and his wellbeing , to grow as a person and pursue what his heart truly desires (hence why you see him taking the mask off and walking away, also by focusing on his lyrics you could tell ) to be himself and create the art he always wished to make ^^
Goodbye or not, their legacy won't be forgotten, they shaped this industry, they inspired millions, they deserve to rest and live happily

My love/hate experience with BIGBANG is when Yang Hyun suk pushed Taeyang into singing and away from rapping. The success of his individual songs are testament to his ability to co write and produce, and my goodness could he light up a stage as a solo artist. One of my fav songs "please say yes" by Se7en a Kpop RnB idol from the early 2ks, still makes me regret Taeyang not being in the rap line of BIGBANG. I love GD as a rapper but YB just hit different, he had the style and flo to make it as an American rapper at that time, his flow was very sing songy similar to Nelly, And with his vocals and rap style mixed ( like Ringa linga ) he could have dominated as a singer/rapper like Drake. It pisses me off still because he suffered a lot of doubt about his abilities in the early years. He is also a brilliant pianist and composer, he created some of the most beautiful melodies back in the day but YHS was always telling him he didn't have a good ear for music. I'm glad he eventually found several solo successes with co writing and production because YHS had a leash on him and YGE still does. Taeyang should have put out way more music over the years, I had hoped after white night and military service the band would leave YGE and start their own label, and I'm still hoping for that.
