Your recipe is indeed a keeper. I tried it and it blow my mind away how it was exactly the same as the one we eat in the Philippines.
My pleasure. So glad you liked it. Same thing, I've been recipe hunting for this kind, the one I used to eat when I was in the Phils but since I can't find any, I tried to experiment on my own and luckily I was able to replicate the exact same taste and texture.

sarap nto nkagawa n po aq kya lng medjo malambot ung toppings nia pero masarap nman po naubos din

Hi. Yes, this is different. Ginawa ko ito to replicate ang kutsinta na nabibili ng mom ko sa palengke ng Orion sa Bataan noong bata pa ako. My favorite! If you click the recipe link attached, I mentioned that sa blog ko na I've been on a hunt sa recipe nito pero wala kasi akong makita. After few trials nakuha ko din ang texture. Try it :)

Meron mga nakapag try na using cassava but pls note na magkaiba sila. For sure mas chewy ang result pag tapioca kasi may fiber ang cassava. But yes, you can use it.
Isa PA pong tanong mam, kung silicon pan po ang gagamitin ko ilang minutes po bago ko po ilagay ang 2nd layer... Pakisagot Lang po mam, gusto ko po syang gawin, kasi sa molder Lang po ako gumagawa just want to try sa silicon pan... Thanks po at nakita ko ang version nyo sa malaki hang pag gawa ng kutsinta.
I haven't tried using silicone but I know that they are nonstick so it may work. Nakalagay sa video kung ilang minutes.

The closes probably is cassava flour though may difference sila mas chewy ang tapioca.

Mine I separated the two ...first layer is white color then the second layer is brown. But the ingredients have the same but just the second layer has annato

Magkaiba pero that's the closest you can sub. Pwede dahon make sure pahiran mo pa rin ng oil to make sure na hindi dumikit
