I sell for USAA via a third party call center and I'm licensed in every state except Massachusetts. phones have literally been ringing off the hook since the first of the year. I can tell you that we get a lot of current and former military service members whose opinion is that we should never raise their rates because of their service to our country. they state that they haven't had any tickets or accidents and therefore their cost should keep going down. but rates have continued to increase the last few years and so far the rising interest rates and falling prices of used cars have not resulted in less accidents and cost of collision repair and medical claims and therefore the premiums have increased in most areas of the country. the southeast and south states, especially Florida where rates have doubled in the last 2 years despite rates in FL already being the highest in the nation. so I get a lot of calls about what could be cut to result in lower rates, but many times there isn't a lot that can be cut except for the liability and for those who own homes or have assets that's not a very good idea at all. we lose a lot of policies to other companies based entirely on rates and no other factors. you have an interesting channel and I will be watching for the future. it's hard trying to explain that rates increase because the cost to settle their claim in 2023, despite the changes in sales in the auto industry, would be higher in 2023 and therefore more money has to be allocated to pay the losses we project to pay in the next 6 months to a year.
I switched to Geico, I have 6 cars and 2 teenagers driving my premium police drop almost $3k believe or not, In the past I was using a local company to get my insurance, but this time a quoted by myself.
USAA also is starting to roll out a usage based policy that allows low mileage drivers to pay based on how often they drive and how many miles. for those who rarely drive it's a new option in some states. also eligibility for membership is active duty or retired military or former military whose discharge was either honorable or general under honorable conditions. USAA is a legacy eligibility, passed down from the active duty or retired military to their dependents, such as their children and spouse and then down to their children and stays in place unless there is a skip in generation. for more details contact USAA. I should note that currently eligibility is not passed across to siblings or parents, only to children and spouses, and their children and spouses.
That program requires you to give them access to your driving whenever you drive. If u r in a 35 .Ile zone gng 40 that cld be considered speeding. They will know everything. Where ur car was parked let's say. If it is parked in a poor neighborhood that has a lot of crime that can be considered a negative. State Farm and Allstate are losing a lot of ground in this climate. Progressive on the other hand is showing everyone that you can grow and stay profitable even in these tough times. Liberty Mutual is rock solid but they are really looking for a thinner profile of customer. If you Dont fit within that profile their price is going to be very high. USAA has had some significant changes in executive leadership, hiring execs that aren’t former military and I think that has effected the service side of their business. Just my two cents.
Driving a 2018 equinox, no tix or accidents besides being hit back in 2013 in a roundabout, not my fault. Progressive jumped up my 6 mo coverage by nearly 100$ since this time last year. Will be shopping around.
I truly believe if u r older even with a clean record they r using ur age agst u. Insurance never went up if u kept a clean driving record and at some point these companies who are raising rates on good drivers r gng to have one hell of a law suit.
I wanted to provide you with an update on your Liberty Mutual review. If you decide to enroll in their telematics program, your future rates will be impacted based on the information gathered. This change was implemented by the company towards the end of last year.
I've been with GEICO for 25 years, and every few years I've shopped around. Never found a better rate. Closest was Progressive offering a teaser rate that matched GEICO but with very tiny print saying this was an intro rate. Have I just been really lucky with GEICO, like somehow I fit their actuaries picture of good risk?
ive been with geico over 20 years and to renew next year they quoted a 50% increase due to "inflation" as i had no claims. i have been happy w them but going from $63 to $94 a month was a little too much, after shopping i went w progressive for $45. i did reduce coverage but the same coverage reduction at geico brought it down to only $71...i told the geico rep ill look at them again when progressive raises their rates, as im sure i got their "carrot on a stick" rate...

Clearcover is a fantastic carrier. They’re a digital forward company relying heavy on their app. They have tight underwriting guidelines which is one of the reasons why they can offer great rates to well qualified drivers. If you happen to live in Illinois their rates are unbeatable.

Progressive just raised rate from $70 to $120 for no reason, for an 04 taurus just liability insurance.

I'm with Farmes here in Texas and in just the last year.. my auto insurance jumped 30%.. I'm over 50 and no accidents! I'm considering Progressive...
I was with farmers as well. When the price jumped I did switch to progressive just recently. Idk if it's the long term but way better for me rn
