I remember on my very first Mc Donald's visit in 1984 (I was about seven years old), right at the time Chicken Mc Nuggets were introduced in Germany. A product-sensation, because Mc Do was only known for Burger and fries until then. There was a big TV in the McDo restaurant showing a film with a group of puppets preparing Chicken Mc Nuggets in their kitchen. My god, so long ago... 🥲

We have many "Chinese Restaurants" in the UK and I was with an international group of people years ago in Brussels. We wandered the back streets and found a "Chinese Restaurant" and the decor, the menu, the presentation were all the same as in our own respective countries - Canada, UK and Austria. The food was mostly similar, but definitely the same sort of thing and really delicious!
It was a fun evening, and VERY disorientating, as everything was so familiar yet different...

If you want a layered (butter) cream cake try Frankfurter Kranz. There are some other layered cakes with proper names, rather than generic ones.
I know of one drive through bakery, but it's not a common thing. Like most drive throughs it's located in an industrial/commercial area.

The city I live in here in Germany has a "drive-in" (as we call it here) bakery. You can order bread or cake or whatever they have on their menue and than get it right to the window of your car. I never saw this before moving here and funny enough this bakery seems to be a chain in my area who has 2 drive-in places besides 2 normal bakery in my city. IDK how many drive-in they have in total but this chain has about 50 bakery in a 20 kilometer radius of me

Well, that's just life going through a Starbuck's drive thru, even here, in the mid-west. Carrot cake was a super choice! My favorite "bad" breakfast is McDonald's cheap little burritos. My daughter is a farmer's market artisan bread baker, but she and I still order them on our way to set up at 7 a.m. in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Her dad, a chef by training, scoffs at us and eats his McDonald's sausage, egg, and cheese English muffin. Heh, heh, heh. Love your videos. =)

wow you guys handle spiciness well! I was inspired by you to try a big tasty bacon and gave up trying to eat it in the car, lettuce bits falling out everywhere. So I took it home and cut it in half and put it in the oven (without the lettuce bits) with fresh tomatoes and it was a meal for two. The spicy nuggets are awesome but with the spicy sauce I was really shocked at how spicy that combo is. I also had my first ever McRib and wow that hickory bbq sauce makes it! Happy to see it won't go away, like those spicy nuggest are bound to do.

Nice that there are those options for drive-thru but hopefully Germany does not pick up the same trend and culture of US of "fast foods" and eating while driving and not enjoying the actual food. There seems to be many options and good restaurants over there so cannot wait to see more. If someone were to visit Germany and specifically Dussendorf, any recommendation or video on how to arrive from airport to what hotels/AirBnB/other options - train, uber, public transportation or need a rental car?

Give my age away, the big and tasty is an off shoot of the MCDLT which was a late 80s Gimmick (gimmicks were popular in the 80s).
You got a long Styrofoam case that had two sanwich holders. O e held the upper portion of the burger bun lettuce tomatoes onions, the other held the lower half cheese burger patty and lower bun.
The concept was that the package kept the cold side cold and the hot side hot and you the customer completed the process when you put the two together.
Not too long after Mc Donald's did away with Styrofoam so the MCDLT eventually became the BIG N' TASTY
Its pronounced MC as in McDonalds
    Mc DLT MCDLT.

I tried Chicken Waffles at an American diner in Oslo this weekend after watching you have it. Their milk shakes were incredible. As for the chicken waffles, maybe those are more of an aquired taste? The portion was big. Not so much taste. And no vegetables or side dishes of course. 30 Euro for the chicken waffles. 10 Euro for the milk shake. It was fun trying something I have only seen on RUclips 🙂

The mid 1900s would be 1850's there was no century zero we are currently in 2022 which is the 21st century the 1950s happened in the 20th century, it is a common mistake but the American drive-thru restaurants started around 1950

The Women at Starbucks must've thought something like: "Hat der gerade 'pieseln' gesagt? Will der mich jetzt auf den Arm nehmen?" 😂

I'm glad the Starbucks drive thru was a long wait, forkless dud. Here in the US Starbucks seems to want to encourage drive thru rather than dine in by prioritizing the drive thru patrons (with obnoxious timer screens to measure drive thru waits while for walk ins they don't care) and all the idling car exhaust and general message of car promotion it sends. Hopefully our drive thru "culture" (anti-culture?) is not exported.

Impressive! Whole leaf lettuce vs in US the lettuce is always shredded. And very messy.

McDonald's here in New Zealand much better than in the States because our meat from our cows is grass feed no ad ons in there feed.

I've lived in America for over 40 years, and I've used the drive-thru only when I had to - a couple of times during the pandemic because that was the only option. Ordering from the car definitely makes me jumpy and uncomfortable. Besides, you never know when David Letterman may decide to come out of retirement and do a drive-thru shift at the restaurant I visit. Eating a full fast food meal in the car? I'm just as unwilling to do that except for the fries because they are not as messy. Why would I want to make my hard-earned vehicle a pigsty?

That area around the drive in Starbucks looks a lot like NYC metro area. It is strange.

When it comes to burgers BK out beats McDonald's any day . I found McDonald's dry and sometimes no taste compared to BK . Even so both use grass feed meat.

That orange BK burger looks disgusting and artificial. If you told me that it was a plastic representation of a burger, I'd believe you.
I only eat in my car on long road trips, and that's usually sitting in the parking lot of the restaurant and not while driving. I choose my restaurant based on what's available nearby when I have to fuel up.
