Nice other Christmas Markets I know, would be Aachen and Köln, or if you are up for a longer journey München and Nürnberg. Berlin and Stuttgart look nice also, but I've never been there. You left me hungry, very nice video.
The "must haves" every year on Wandsbeker Winterzauber in Hamburg are an oven Garlic-Baguette (attention: Better do not go among people afterwards!), a portion Schmalzkuchen with powdered sugar and fruits in chocolate-glaze on a stick (my favourites are bananas or grapes).
I eat krakauer with mustard on a bun, mushrooms, White chocolate strawberry and I drink Eierpunch. Since corona I learned how to make Eierpunch. Love that over Gluhwhein....
I love you guys. I love Germany and anything german. I am greek, but I was born and raised in Cape Town/South Africa. I grew up with Germans since I was 2 years old. Starting off with the Deutsches Kindergarten, continued with the Deutsche Schule Kapstadt and finished school in the Deutsche Schule Athen. Jus to give you the idea of how much I love German people, food, traditions and all this I grew up with. My dream always was to travel to Germany, and live there for ever. A dream that never came true and as it seems it most probably never will. So you can imagine how exited I am whenever your videos are on youtube. I thank you both soooooooo much for showing me my beloved country, somehow making my dream come true. Danke Schätzchen. Ihr seid geil. Ich liebe euch beide so sehr !!!
This makes me so excited! I’m going to Nuremberg in a few weeks time. I grew up in Germany and haven’t been back since. Nothing beats Christmas in Germany! X
Don't forget to get some Nuremberger Bratwurst and Glüwein. I lived in Germany for many years, have not been back for a few years. Sure miss the Christmas Market there.
In the Army after VietNam did my rehab in Nuremberg, Stayed for a year and a few months. Loved, loved Germany. Did go to the Christmas market, it was magical. This video reminds me of the good times and the good people. Thanks.

Thou shalt not do so unto Jehovah thy God: for every abomination to Jehovah, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters do they burn in the fire to their gods. What thing soever I command you, that shall ye observe to do: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it." Leviticus 20: 27: "A man also or a woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones; their blood shall be upon them." You two are so lovely, I enjoy your videos a lot. I grew up in a German family in South Western Wisconsin, it was Brats and all Wursts, Boiled Cabbage Dinner, Liver wurst, Sauerbraten, Roulading (stupid spell check), Spätzle and brown gravy, Pork and Veal Weiner Schnitzel, Pretzels, All of the German Rye breads, Potato pancakes, etc...and my Dad's Apple Strudel...SMH, so great!!! And yes, German Glühwein in the winter. Thank you Guys, please keep posting, and if I spelled anything wrong Phil, I'm three generations away from the homeland, please forgive me...

I thought I knew the best christmas market meals already, but yesterday a friend recommended me "Mutzen" - I've never heard of them before and just tried them today, sooo delicious ☺️
Went to a Christmas Market in Heidelberg over 30 years ago while visiting a friend stationed there, had some gluhwein and other treats and it made a strong impression upon me and I have always remembered it fondly. Nothing remotely like it here in the U.S. for all the big deal that's made about Christmas.
I am sitting here drooling and enjoying my favourite food in the world with you. Admire your appetite as well I would not last that long, but it has been 30-40-50 years since I could stow away as much as my eyes could hold, that is what old age does to you (90+). Love your adventure👍👍👍👍🎹🎹🎹🎼🎼🎻🪕🎸

Oh the memories!! We were stationed in Germany for 10 years and this was our favourite time of the year. Aside from the food and drink, we used to pick up some lovely Christmas presents for the family back home in the UK.
I have not been to a Christmas Market since I was a little girl. Mom would buy roasted chestnuts. My sister and I love them. Once in a great while, I get a bag. I can follow the scent to the vendor like a bloodhound!
These are so beautiful, and no clue they were so common there!! We have nothing like this in the states, I love it, and would have filled my purse with bratwurst, lol. Great video!!

If you like to have some more medieval feeling, you might try to keep the "Mittelalterstadtfest" in Bad Langensalza (Thuringia) in mind, which takes place the second half of August towards the end of the month. It uses the whole inner part of the town with it's amazing medieval center. And there are REAL original Thüringer Bratwürste all over ;-)
Merry Christmas for all. I spent 2 years in Gelnhausen. 84-86 and actually did training in West Berlin and also went thru Check Point Charlie into East Berlin. Happy to see the country re-united! I recommend a visit to Gelnhausen for anyone.
As a Hungarian person, seeing lángos on offer at German Christmas markets still feels weird. Back at home, lángos, which is quite similar to Native American frybread, is always eaten on the beach, in summer, whenever you feel hungry after swimming; never in the winter cold.
It's not just on Christmas markes in Germany, my town for example has a wine fest in August, and you can get langos there too. Crepes bratwurst and langos or flammkuchen or pizza is something you pretty much always find at any type of outdoor market, festival etc.
There is a Langos booth at pretty much every medium to larger sized fest in Germany all around the year. I guess it also might come in handy that they can sell it at home in the summer and in Germany in the winter. Maybe that is what some do?
Hello Deana and Phil, I'm in Germany right now with my husband on his business trip. We visited Stuggart last week and now we're in Mannheim. We'll be heading to Heidelburg on Thursday and then off to round out our trip to Frankfurt. The Weihnachtsmarkt has been the highlight of our trip. Thank you for sharing your videos.
I'm a German living some years now in California and the way he doesn't reply anything after you ordered the mulled wine 0:58 gives me nice German friendliness memories
I lived in Landstuhl and the Christmas market was pretty small but there was always a vendor with shrimp wrapped in shredded potato and then deep fried. Delicious!!! And, of course, Gluwein!!!
Thanks guys, I watched this video right after dinner and the moment I saw those lovely sausages on the Schwenker Grill I got hungry again. The rest of the video made that feeling even worse. As far as sausages are concerned, the Krakauer is the one I prefer, but let's be honest, all different sausages are very tasty. Thank you for posting!
This is great timing. I’m flying to Germany this weekend and I know I’ll be near a few markets in the next couple weeks. I never knew my love of mushrooms was genetic.
Hehe, if you are in Germany during Christmas market season, then you can't help but be near a few markets. They are EVERYWHERE here. Each and every tiny town will have a market somewhere.
Going to Christmas markets in Germany/Austria/Alsace is #1 on my travel wish list! I have some great bottled glühwein I brought home from Sweden and a raclette cooking appliance, both great for a fun holiday party! But I want to go to a bunch of these markets for 7-10 days, trying out all the other options! Thanks for doing this video, I'm instantly in the Christmas frame of mind! 🎄☕
Your video always tell me a lot of things about Germany with studying English 😂 I moved to Düsseldorf from Japan in last October. You tell me good spots in the city❤
Mom made Dampfnudel and it was my all time favorite. She made it with raisins and steamed in melted butter and sugar . Then poured on a vanilla pudding sauce. Can't get it in Ohio. Probably a good thing.
@@MichelleJonesKralka Leavenworth Washington in America is similar in winter, so sorry yes we do have something like this in America . Just on a wayyyyy smaller scale. lol it’s great there
Not in Gemany, but kinda related, since last weekend, until the 26 of December,in Verona (Italy) there are the Nuremberg christmas Markets (i think they are called like that because the two cities have some relationship on this),not as big as German ones, but nice to see if you visit the city in the holiday season
Those cups are beautiful, they should start using them in Prague as well. I enjoyed your video, actually I started filming Christmas markets in my city Prague as well.
I recommend the Silesian Christmas market in Görlitz. You should definitely try the Silesian bratwurst there, which is a veal bratwurst with lemon. There is smoked beef sausage from the grill and freshly baked Hungarian Baumkuchen (Kürtőskalács), which is incredibly tasty fresh from the fire. You should also try poppy seed dumplings, which are only available in this region. There is a yurt set up at the market where there are various mulled wines and punch, I recommend the blueberry mulled wine.
Hello there so glad to see you are well.😁👍when I was little my Mom bought Mutzen Mandel Wich was fried Dough but smaller. Envy you guys being there . Stay safe have fun and MERRY CHRISTMAS
Dampfnudeln or Germknödel are made of a yeast dough (yeast=Hefe=germ) and steamed (hence the "Dampf" - steam). Often filled with cooked prunes. If not filled, the most traditional topping is vanilla sauce and poppy seeds. Filled ones are usually also served with vanilla sauce. Yummy.
I was thinking of all the sweety things you can buy on a german Xmas market : Lebkuchen, gebrannte Mandeln, Schmalzgebäck, Zimtsterne, Liebesäpfel ………… yummi yummi & Merry Christmas 😇⭐️🎄
On a traditional Christmasmarket ! Nothing is better then a real Thüringer Rostbratwurst with Mustard! In Nürnberg is the must have Nürnberger Würstchen!👍😋 Greetings from Düsseldorf!🇩🇪
Love it, every year I visit a German city for it's X-mass markets, this year was Cologne, I missed the Dampfnudel which was a favourite of mine, couldn't find it anywhere. Will see for next hear... Hamburg or Munich or Berlin :D
The shot of Five Guys! Heh, heh, heh! Too funny! Even in my small city of 50,000, we have a Five Guys! As for me, I would like some gingerbread and liverwurst with mustard only. I'm not a ketchup fan. The hot alcoholic cider drink looked good too!

Deuteronomy 12: 29-32: "When Jehovah thy God shall cut off the nations from before thee, whither thou goest in to dispossess them, and thou dispossessest them, and dwellest in their land; take heed to thyself that thou be not ensnared to follow them, after that they are destroyed from before thee; and that thou inquire not after their gods, saying, How do these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise. Thou shalt not do so unto Jehovah thy God: for every abomination to Jehovah, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters do they burn in the fire to their gods. What thing soever I command you, that shall ye observe to do: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it."
Leviticus 20: 27: "A man also or a woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones; their blood shall be upon them."
Levticus 19: 31: "Turn ye not unto them that have familiar spirits, nor unto the wizards; seek them not out, to be defiled by them: I am Jehovah your God." (ASV)
This is a christians' way,
Acts 19: 19: "And not a few of them that practised magical arts brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all; and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver."
But, the inhabitants of World Sodom run to fortune tellers and astrologers while blessing them in the name of God...
The problem is Devil runs the world. He is liar and murderer. This is the reason why deception and violence are everywhere. This is the reason why Hitler got the power, but Christ was executed as "blasphemer" and "rioter" by denunciation of clergy. This is the reason why the whole world is Sodom.
That's why we've got the Gospel about the God's kingdom. Jehovah would put everything in order. He has anointed the king, Jesus Christ. The dead will be resurected and we'll meet our loved ones again! :-)
Looks Wonderful, the German food looks delicious. Thanks for showing us!!
I mainly went to the Christmas markets for shopping but loved the food also. My family loved to get the things I would get in Hanau and Frankfurt.
If you like to have some more medieval feeling, you might try to keep the "Mittelalterstadtfest" in Bad Langensalza (Thuringia) in mind, which takes place the second half of August towards the end of the month. It uses the whole inner part of the town with it's amazing medieval center. And there are REAL original Thüringer Bratwürste all over ;-)
Fantastic! What a wonderful thing to do at Christmas time. America is missing the Boat! Germans know how to Celebrate Holidays!
Merry Christmas for all. I spent 2 years in Gelnhausen. 84-86 and actually did training in West Berlin and also went thru Check Point Charlie into East Berlin. Happy to see the country re-united! I recommend a visit to Gelnhausen for anyone.
Best regards and merry Christmas from northern Germany!
Greetings from Gelnhausen 😉
Hey Jack, you're old 🙊
@@sunnysunny9966 No kidding? What a great town! Do you know a bar my old friends ran called the Bier Brunen? You made my day! Thank you!
@@jackwalker9492 it is alive and going you can find it on Google maps and see a few pictures from today’s Bierbrunnen
You really have to visit the middle ages lights Christmas Market in Dortmund-Fredenbaum. Beautyful Lights everywhere, very romantic 🤗
Bin heute Nacht um 5 Uhr kurz aufgewacht. Jetzt liege ich hier mitten in der Nacht mit mega Hunger und das Wasser läuft mir im Mund zusammen 😅
There are even lángos stalls at the markets where I live in Australia. Hungary's gift to the world 👍
Beaches in Hungary? Must be a new trend
@@Gk-ug6gu "Balaton" or the Black Sea... Never heard of it? One of my former co-workers is from the Balaton area, right at the beach tourists love.
Drinking and eating my way through Germany and France. The good life!
Yes, loved it thanks! And just in time for going to a Christmas Market ourselfs, now I know what I wanna eat 😁👍
How nice are the markets. Hope you’re doing well and staying warm
Awesome D&P. Some interesting food. I need to get back to Germany.
Been thirty years since I last visited a Weinachtmarkt. Miss it a lot. This was a great reminder! Thank you for sharing this.
In the fairy tale market here we have handbread i tried yesterday. Very interesting.
I lived in Germany for 12 years in the 70`s and things have changed so much.
Her introduction!! 👍👍🤣🤣 "...Is in da house, yeah" 🤙Wicked!
Thank you for the memories! I lived outside of Nuremberg, so I had a wonderful Christmas market to shop at every year!
Yes, this is what I call a Christmas Market and the food, drinks and ambience is the real deal!
Amazing video!! Thank you guys. More about the German culture please.
thank you for the info, w'll be there in a few weeks👍
This is great timing. I’m flying to Germany this weekend and I know I’ll be near a few markets in the next couple weeks. I never knew my love of mushrooms was genetic.
Hehe, if you are in Germany during Christmas market season, then you can't help but be near a few markets. They are EVERYWHERE here. Each and every tiny town will have a market somewhere.
11:28 Deana's tipsy little laugh😂
We went in 2018. Slipped in right before Covid. What a blast. Great food, great people and so much fun.
nice to see a little bit of my old home town Hannover in there. hoping i will get to take my husband over to Germany at Christmas time at some stage.
🎄☕
Your video always tell me a lot of things about Germany with studying English 😂
I moved to Düsseldorf from Japan in last October. You tell me good spots in the city❤
I wish I could go to a German Christmas Market. Probably would eat until I burst and/or went broke. What great tradition and fun food!
Mom made Dampfnudel and it was my all time favorite. She made it with raisins and steamed in melted butter and sugar . Then poured on a vanilla pudding sauce. Can't get it in Ohio. Probably a good thing.
We always made a savory version. Salty, pan-fried Dampfnudeln, dipped in potato soup.
Thank you for the fond memories 😊
Just went to the Rüdesheim Christmas market. Love it 🍷
superb video! loved it
That fart at 5:20 caught me off guard an killed me right away
All the food 🍱 looked great, I love the sausages and fried potatoes fritters.
Thanks for short break out of the normal life. It gave we a good mood too see this market. 😊
The Armani Christmas Cube!!?? 😅😂🤣 I miss the traditional German markets so much. There is nothing like this in America 😢
Correct nothing like wandering the German Christmas markets with a cup of Gluehwein
@@MichelleJonesKralka Leavenworth Washington in America is similar in winter, so sorry yes we do have something like this in America . Just on a wayyyyy smaller scale. lol it’s great there
The sausage love is strong in the UK too but Germany beats us in their adoration of the meat tube!
I love that you still included my hometown Hannover in your video. I love our Christmas market and the different sections they have there. 🥰
They were living in Hannover before they came to live in düsseldorf
Not in Gemany, but kinda related, since last weekend, until the 26 of December,in Verona (Italy) there are the Nuremberg christmas Markets (i think they are called like that because the two cities have some relationship on this),not as big as German ones, but nice to see if you visit the city in the holiday season
Just came back from our 1st German Christmas Market. Looks like we missed a lot of the food after watching this!😂 Thanks for sharing!
Those cups are beautiful, they should start using them in Prague as well. I enjoyed your video, actually I started filming Christmas markets in my city Prague as well.
That first thing we call it a hashbrown. Very tasty for breakfast.
I love the comment on: I am a worldwide donner expert. Love your videos. I miss a nice curry wurst. Greetings from a Dutch Canadian!
Thank you for your video. I am due to come to Berlin next month and I will keep in mind as to what I should eat. All look exciting.
Too good Christmas markets. Thanks for a great video.
Loves your guys channel, I hope your channel gets bigger. One of my favorite youtube food channels!
Hello there so glad to see you are well.😁👍when I was little my Mom bought Mutzen Mandel Wich was fried Dough but smaller. Envy you guys being there . Stay safe have fun and MERRY CHRISTMAS

This brought back so many memories!
I like my German Bratwurst. Reibekuchen and fried mushroons are also a favorite.
Love your videos Happy New Year from USA
Meiner Meinung nach der beste Weihnachtsmarkt ist in Goslar. :) Auf jeden fall ein Besuch wert!
Deana never fails to get a little innuendo in the videos! Thanks guys! The bratwurst needs mustard and ketchup on the whole thing. Looks great.
Ketchup and bratwurst do not taste good together
In the very German influenced upper Midwest in the USA, putting ketchup on any sausage is strictly frowned upon.
i wonder if she really want an answer to that question? haha
@@loboheeler ketchup and mustard together is divine.

On a traditional Christmasmarket !
Nothing is better then a real Thüringer Rostbratwurst with Mustard!
In Nürnberg is the must have Nürnberger Würstchen!👍😋
Greetings from Düsseldorf!🇩🇪
Love it, every year I visit a German city for it's X-mass markets, this year was Cologne, I missed the Dampfnudel which was a favourite of mine, couldn't find it anywhere. Will see for next hear... Hamburg or Munich or Berlin :D
The shot of Five Guys! Heh, heh, heh! Too funny! Even in my small city of 50,000, we have a Five Guys! As for me, I would like some gingerbread and liverwurst with mustard only. I'm not a ketchup fan. The hot alcoholic cider drink looked good too!
