Fun Facts: Usually the Restaurants Peter Pane und Hans im Glück started as Hans im Glück! Then in 2015 the biggest and only franchise owner got in trouble with the founder of Hans im Glück. The franchise Restraurants were bought by the francise company und were named "Peter Pane" ! Peter Pane was more in north Germany and Hans im Glück was more located in the south of Gemany. Till 2020 both Restaurants had nearly the same or at least very similar Burgers. They still had nearly the same concept. Then in 2020 the Original founder of Hans im Glück who had started all this, sold his company completely to the BackWerk founders ( big Bakery Chain) since then the quality of Hans im Glück Burgers went down extremly!

I went to Hans In Gluck and was impressed with their fries, but not their burger. 3 places in Frankfurt I liked was Der Fette Bulle (more than one location), Heroes Burgers and What’s Beef. If you make it to Frankfurt, these 3 burgers impressed this American. A BigMac menu here in Sweden is 89 Swedish Kronor, and other fast food chains are around that price or just above. The best burger chain we have is a fast food chain called MAX and they're a little bit more expensive than McDonald's but damn they're good! I personally choose MAX over fancier places even if having a burger, just because it's so good and more affordable. A burger menu at fancier places can easily cost 150 Swedish kronor or more. Upon checking the exchange rate, €1 is currently 12,62 Swedish kronor

I tend to make my own burgers as it is difficult to find really good burgers at restaurants. My preference is a 1/2 pound patty, cheese - usually a mix of Swiss, muenster, and provolone, two strips of bacon, crisp lettuce, (NO tomato, I hate tomatoes), and sliced red onion. If fresh jalapeno's are available, I will definitely add them. I will put horseradish mayo, mustard, barbeque sauce, and sweet pickle relish (or substitute pickle slices) on it as well. I will use a toasted homemade pretzel bun or store bought brioche bun if I run out of pretzel buns.
The beef patty is seasoned with salt, pepper, and some garlic powder and the burger is grilled with butter generously applied during cooking. I will frequently grate various cheeses together and blend the grated cheese with the burger meat. Sometimes I will make a small "pouch" in the middle of the patty and fill it with the cheese blend (this can be done "on the fly" when making burgers to order). Makes for a very cheesy and juicy burger.
When guests come over for burgers, the basic choice is a burger with no cheese or toppings and a choice of buns. The guests are free to add anything they wish. I NEVER offer "veggie burgers" as it is my firm belief that a burger is beef and only beef, vegetable patties are not "hamburgers".
If I can find a restaurant that has decent burgers on the menu, I will give them a try, but don't like paying more than $10 - $12 for the burger. I have had a nice burger at a local restaurant in Germany (Bavaria), but it wasn't "premium" nor did they charge a premium price for it (I think it was 8 EUR).

Y’all know I’m a burger person! That first burger looked great! So 2 of my favorite burgers in Texas so far cost $12 for just the burger. At both of these places we each order our own burger and then we will split an order of fries which costs extra. Idk if I’d call them “premium” burgers. But they’re pretty close! They are sit down restaurants with decent atmospheres. I’ve definitely paid up to $18+ for a burger at like a nice steakhouse or something. But that $10-$15 range seems to be the going rate for a good, quality burger.

Peter Pane seems like a good date place given all the attributes of the way more expensive burger. Maybe good for a special occasion. I would bypass the other 2 places and just go to 5 Guys as Deana said if you have that in Germany. And for price, if 5 Guys has a cheeseburger 9 Euros or less, great.

We have other vegan favourites for burgers but Peter Pane is a must go for delicious burgers when eating in a large group of vegan/vegetarian and meateaters.
    Pricy but tasty and consistent!
    And loads of options.
ETA:the restaurant theme and atmosphere including the toilet storytelling makes it worth a visit!

Nothing beats Five Guys. It's only fair that you had to come to Krefeld for your burger, since I had to drive to Düsseldorf so many times to get something from Five Guys or Frittenwerk (I love their poutine).
Next time you come to Krefeld, wait for decent weather and try the Biergarten at Stadtwaldhaus. It has won a "Best Biergarten in Germany" award once against all the Bavarian competition.

I prefer non-chain Roadhouse-burgers. There are some great once now adays in Germany. The best I have been to is "Opa Joe's Roadhouse" in Lienen, NRW. Greatest burger ever! All bio, regional products, if possible. Awesome stuff and not that expensive. Biggest burger with 4 meat-pads is 20 Euro.

My experience living in Kaiserslautern for 7 years, there are some great burger restaurants- and when you find them, you get a fantastic meal. Most German ground beef is very lean for a decent burger. But a few places do it very right. I found a great place in Wiesbaden, a couple of good places in Kaiserslautern.
BurgerMe was just ok in my experience. Not something I would go back to.
Das!Burger in Wiesbaden is my top pick. Burger 16/57 or Old Station in Kaiserslautern are almost as good.
I would expect €10-€12 is a fair price for a burger at a sit down restaurant.
