The way they fought the battle against the undead was ridiculous and made zero sense from a strategic standpoint. Yeah, let's let the Dothraki RIDE into a hoard of undead. The writing on the last season was almost childish.

I agree, did we forget what whitewalkers are? Literaully feeding the fire, so sad.

The writers of the show got bored and wanted any excuse to work on something else. And, the books didn't keep up with the show, so they felt capable of making a rushed ending. They should be tried in court as criminals for this masacre of the 8th season. I can't believe they just didn't let others have a chance.

It was. But I’ll give credit where credit is due. It still was a very tense episode the first time I watched it. Repeated views revealed the flaws.

I wished the night king had gone for the kings landing instead of winterfell. Also had the awkoen the balerion corpse into ice dragon. Wished there was smile on the kings face when he sees cersie. I wished had won the battle at winterfell and gone for cersie then. I wished if it was jon who who kills the night king after a tough battle or maybe with a help or arya, 2 vs 1. I wished jorah had lived. Maybe Jaime should have died there. I dont wanna see sansa as queen of winterfell. She should be some lords wife, much better with Tyrion. I wanted to see see the battle between mountain and hound in open like collosiium. I wished jon had been the king wnd Daenerys Targaryen the queen.

Why would Balerion be in the north? It’s stated in the lore that the only other dragon rider to attempt to cross the wall into the North was Allysanne on Silverwing, and Silverwing refused to cross 3 times. Also, had the Night King defeated the forces t Winterfell he WOULD have eventually sweeper the entirety of Westeros. One of the criticisms is that there were multiple cities that would have been sacked by the white walkers that wasn’t shown. I agree with some of your ideas, but a lot of them just wouldn’t have made sense to the overall storyline. I’m one of the few that doesn’t have an issue with Arya being the one to kill the Night King, though I think if they were going to make Jon Snow “The Prince that was Promised” it should have been him in a protracted battle. They ended up choosing to use the story of the cycle of the Valyrian steel dagger for whatever reason. I also don’t like that Arya screamed when she attacked, and it still worked, despite the skill the Night King had previously shown. I guess they wanted a reason for Arya to use the dagger drop move. I don’t really understand the reason they made some kind of special deal out of that move. She used it when sparring with Brianne who asked her who had taught it to her, to which she replied “no one”, then it was brought back for the killing blow, which makes it seem like it has some significance that was never really explained. I don’t know, the more I reply the less I like Arya being the one that killed the Night King. She definitely needed to be an important part, given how much development was given to her character, but it probably needed to be AFTER the battle with the walkers. She could have been the one to kill Cersei, and if they wanted to pay off the knife drop move, she could have fought and killed Jaime to get to Cersei. They had already shown Jaime being beaten by Brienne and Arya sparred Brienne to a draw, so it would have made sense. Jon and Dany could have ruled Westeros, leaving Sansa as Queen of an independent Winterfell and Bran could have just continued being the Three-Eyed Raven, perhaps becoming a future antagonist, though I’m not sure how they would explain his motivation, considering he’s supposed to have no emotion, so a list for power would not exist. Anyway, it DEFINITELY could have been written better. I think the Mountain and The Hounds battle was executed fine though, considering that the Mountain was pretty much undead and that’s the reason the Hound had to sacrifice himself to kill the big bastard. In this particular story, the Hound couldn’t have had a happy ending (lived), as his character did go through a major redemption arc, but he needed to die in the story. That’s just the kind of story told by GoTs. Danny didn’t need to go “mad” though, as that wasn’t a trait that was exhibited by all Targaryen rulers, so it’s not like it was an inevitable inherited trait. I’ve typed long enough. Decent ideas you had, some just weren’t plausible.

The whole purpose of forgetting our memories is so dumb.... its not like we Bran was making movies or books about their history. what would change if 3 eyed raven died?
ONly change is the super evil villain the 3 eyed raven would not become the king. If the whites killed the old man 3 eyed raven none of this would have happened. plus all three dragons and Misandi would be alive and she would not have burned the city. Plus Bran would still be Bran and not a kid who is possessed by some old evil spirt.
Danarys was beating the Lanisters until she went to the North.

Do they realize is they had Danny men covering her dragons on the floor and booth dragons blasting fire at the undead they could have killed then all imagine both dragons. Just constantly breathing fire at the on coming walkers one in the air and one month ground

Regardless of the ridiculous tactics shown, the biggest failure (which I just formed an opinion on under a different comment) was not having “The Prince that was Promised” be the one to kill The Night King. That basically destroys the entire lore from Aegon’s conquest through the Night King saga. The more I think about it and respond in these comments, it would have been interesting if the Battle of Winterfell was lost and Jon died (again), however this time being resurrected by The Children of the Forest in the same manner as Benjin (or something similar) to kill their creation. It would have added the tragedy that GoT loved, but payed off “the prince that was promised” aka, the entire point of Aegon’s conquest and the series in general.
