It's amazing that Hollywood has done this scene several times - in various movies - but they have never matched this one. The dark clouds, the blowing winds, those massive walls of water. Milton Smith I suggest watching Dreamworks “The Prince of Egypt” it has a grand scale to it, has some beautiful animation to it, and showed Moses and Ramses to be brothers first and only after time see that they become enemies. They don’t want things to be this way, but it has to be.

And the way Cecil gave us time to absorb it all by showing everyone walking through the sea and looking around in awe; it’s perfect. I also love the performance of Moses here. My guess is that the actress doesn't speak English and they had to dub her down the line but the dubbing session doesn't go great either. Also, Cecil B. DeMille suffered a heart attack so some scenes were taken over by the second unit director. It's weird that THAT was the take that made it into the final cut considering there's this whole spiel about why Cecil B. DeMille omitted the frog plague because it simply wouldn't work on film. "If it doesn't work, he simply will take it out of the film." Still a great film, though.

Then God does his thing. God is still God even today
Rameses was probably right though. The Israelites weren't going to retreat, because God parted the Red Sea so they could keep moving forward and not turn back. Apparently the adage "Don't say anything you're gonna regret" didn't exist back then, but I think it was because God hardened his heart... Even so, may God be praised!

Magnificent raw power of our God!!🙌🙌🙇🙇💃💃🎶🎶🕺🕺🎉🎉🎊🎊
YES LORD YES LORD YES LORD YES LORD YES LORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHEWWWW YES LORD THANK YOU JEHOVAH. THANK YOU JESUS!!!!!! YES LORD!!!!!!! THROUGH THE RED SEA GOD BROUGHT ME THROUGH THE WILDERNESS AND INTO THE PROMISED LAND
I love the part right before this part where God brings Moses and Israel up to the water with Ramses and his army behind them, putting Moses and Israel in between, and Ramses says "the God of Moses leaves him with no retreat"
Not knowing that God does actually have a plan "a retreat" in progress, Ramses and Moses just don't see it yet.
