Holy shit that illusion lace is illusioning fr, it's practically invisible!!! Also the organic construction and dyeing works so well with the Kelpie theme! Love the finished product :)
This Kelpie dress and overall look for the ball was spectacular! I am obsessed with the bodice. I was at the ball and it looked so amazing! I honestly would love a dye video and would be super into a video where you went in more detail with how you hand sewed the bodice. I saw the needle and thread moving but it also seems like witch craft. I cannot wait for your renfair costumes! See you at the renfair :)
I would love a dye themed video. The information you gave here are so interesting, I’d happily watch more. Especially if you combine it with a project, like creating a gradient scarf-y accessory or decor by dyeing different scraps of fabric with the same color (to showcase the variations and techniques), or whatever piece you can create by testing dyes.
Yes please. An in depth dye vid would be awesome. Logically I knew there is a difference between dyes for plant fibers vs protein fibers but I’d never actually heard even a small breakdown of it. Fascinating. Please more.
Yes to the fabric dye tutorial ! A couple of years ago, I sewed a - if K may say so myself - gorgeous white linen dress. Or at least, under my yellowish kitchen lamps, I thought it was white. It was not. Or at least some of it was, and some of it was a different linen that was a lot more eggshell white and I didn’t see I had mixed too different linens. Anyways, I tried to dye it, it was a disaster and to this day I don’t quite know what went wrong but I ended up tossing that dress - and the hours of work that went into making it - in the recycling bin 😅 (ps: as a tattoo artist I have to say that this sword is * chef’s kiss * )
15:05 omg yes. Please do a galaxy dress. I beg of you This dress looks incredible. I gasped when I saw the thumbnail (also when you took some scissors to the dress’s sides, that was so scary but the result was stunning). The scrunched up effect on the chest is so beautiful. And that folded squares underskirt is genius, especially for someone like me with limited sewing skills. I’ll definitely try to make one.
oh, wow! the details of the pearls are so pretty. i love the organic-ness of the dyeing and the way the dress is constructed, it really feels like dark, dangerous water. this is a piece of art!
Would also love a dye video! Your new tattoo looks so good. The dress is stunning! I love the pearl additions. Just in case for knitting/crochet i recommend Ravelry for patterns because you can filter to yarn type/type of item/difficulty/if it's free or paid so it makes it easy to find a pattern. You can also remove tags from the search (a few people ive met haven't heard about it before). I mainly find it useful to see what yarn other people have used and inspo for colours.
This costume is AMAZING! I can’t believe you made this in just 4 days! I love seeing costumes for “lesser known” creatures and myths and I think you captured the Kelpie vibe perfectly! Super excited for the Afterlife theme next 😄
currently dying a bog-themed distressed dress for ren faire so i feel the swampy blotchy dying process 🌿🍄🟫 i’d love to see a dying video. this is such a neat idea, i love kelpie folklore !
@@NoDecaf7 sweet, there you go then. I guess I just never associated the two things cause all the pictures I see when I search "Scotland" aren't really what I'd think we're swamps
This is such a great project and came out incredible. It's also just so inspiring to see the ice dyeing, it's truly magical. I loved the little audiobook pop up thing, that's such a sewing vibe for me ^^'
The silk and dyeing really add some wonderfull textures and lightness to the entire costume! It looks absolutely beautiful. For ideas for next ball... maybe persephone?
I highly recommend making a separate dying video, you have included a ton of information here but clearly have heaps more to share. Maybe chapters by fabric? a demo with different swatches and different types of dyes? natural dyes? ice dye vs liquid? pigments that behave vs ones that tend to take over? I have so many questions and curiosities about this topic.
Also this dress is breathtaking on you. You've absolutely knocked this one out of the park ❤❤And I can see you being able to wear it in other ways in the future. I hope you get to experiment more like this in the future!

I'd love to see more on dying from you for sure - it is such a fascinating process. This costume turned out beautifully - love the eeire vibe for a kelpie
Love Kelpies! Love the look overall, I know you were short on time by the end but I think that if the white had more of a grayish tint to it, that would tie it in better not only with the dress itself but the overall look, really helping to tie in the kelpie mask as well. But beautiful nonetheless!
30:24 You could test put the shredded effect on the white under skirt. See if you like it and can control it enough to do it on the top skirt without risk.
I wonder if some grease or oil could've worked to keep the hair look long-term wet to keep with the (under)water vibes? (long-term as in for an entire evening rather than just 2-3 hours)
To be fully honest, I enjoyed the process a lot (especially the ice dying part, didn't know one could do that and the results are amazing) but got a bit underwhelmed by the end result. It IS a very nice dress, don't get me wrong, but I didn't get the kelpie vibe. Perhaps because, as you said, the blue dye took over and there wasn't much green. I think you could also add a few details to make it clearer, for example drift wood (especially on the mask). Perhaps the makeup could be a little spookier too ?

The dress is really pretty and really does give off the impression of water. Your work really paid off and the beads really add a nice bit of shine.

ps: what kind of tulle do you use for the under structure?
Kelpies and Selkies are like my favorite little shape shifters and this was a very dreamy take on the Kelpie

I adore Kelpies and how this turned out. I love that it looks like it's magically staying on you
Also, that book series was so good 🖤

I loved this dress and this video in general. Such a perfect mix of informative, relaxing, and beautiful imagery. I love the baby bat
Absolutely stunning & ethereal! The dress is a perfect echo of the mask,, And those shoes are gorgeous.
the icedying turned out so cool! would love to see that for future projects!!
Y. So in to dying new and old fabrics this season with DT and jacqard

Wow, this turned out stunning! A real piece of art! Super well done!
Every Heart a Doorway is one of my favorites! Seanan McGuire is one of the queens of heartbreakingly beautiful and yet also terrifying stories.

the gown is stunning
the new tattoo is soooooooo sick
very cool! I love the shifting colors and the bottom of the skirt ended up super fun and flowy looking! :D

I love your sword tattoo and this look!
We'll let the fact that Kelpies don't live in the ocean or swamps slide cause the costume is awesome. I love the ice dying and how that turned out :)
Does Scotland even have swamps???
@@halley8105Scotland is very wet, very marshy swampy in some areas!

Absolutely lovely. The gown is beautiful. A dyeing tutorial would be amazing.

I love the costume and the process you did for the dying. ❤ I’m excited for your spooky content!
love, love, LOVE how this turned out!!
god that's a stunning gown. Genuinely breathtaking piece, good job Minji.
As for shredding the underskirt, I like how it looks now, unshredded. The fabric pieces already trail and float really beautifully.
i would absolutely adore a video about dye!!
Love the details and the hand-dyed fabric, it's such an elegant and beautiful touch!
I'd love to see more on dying from you for sure - it is such a fascinating process.
This costume turned out beautifully - love the eeire vibe for a kelpie
Love this costume- I’d kill for an in depth how to drape a skirt like this, the layers, all that. It’s stunning!
LOVE how this turned out, what a rad silhouette

For an Afterlife theme maybe something with Sands of Time or something that somehow incorporates a lot of different religious afterlife ideas.
This turned out to be SO gorgeous!
Insane Beautiful 💜
Love this costume. I'm thinking of doing an illusion bodice. Love the layering of fabrics and beads.
Nice job!!
Love your new tattoo! I haven't watched in a while so maybe its not new anymore 😅
I would love to see more about the dying process and I also this it could be cool if you added more flowy bits☺️
Cool 😀
*SHRED IT! SHRED IT! SHRED IT! SHRED IT!*
The beginning did in fact scare me.
Would you ever do a video on patterning stays/corsets? The dress turned out beautiful!
I'd love a video about dyes. I have fibre reactive dyes but don't know much about other types
Ohh, new tattoo. Thats pretty is it a temp?
Witch costume! Witch costume!
Omg first comment
I’m so happy for this new video
That’s my highlight of the day 🥹🌸
The organic shapes and movement you were able to achieve with fabric is amazing!. The pearls looked like bubbles so love them.

You should do an elden ring dress, based on Astel Firstborn of the Void, cosmic, galaxies, and Skull and pincers. And damselfly wings.

Oh hey she's back? Yt seemed to have her disappear after the nose job video looks like I got some catching up to do lol
