1. Apple cider vinegar (1 tablespoon/ 50 lb) + 1 tsp honey. Once a day for a week.
2. Melatonin (2 mg / 20 lb body weight, twice a day, 6mg max)
3. Sunflower oil (1 tablespoon / 50 lb of body weight; 2x a day for two weeks)
Pipi would be a great backup outboard motor for your boat....look at that tail spin!

I give my lab my pitbull both about 1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar twice a day and I give my chihuahua Maybe a quarter of a teaspoon twice a day and all my dogs are shedding horribly. If I knew of a way to get them to stop shedding so much I would do it. But for some reason this year they should worse than they ever have and they've only been getting that apple cider vinegar for maybe a few months.

Question, my dog has a small Meibomian adenoma, it just popped up and is small, and I'm looking for any alternative treatment, besides surgery. My dog is a 12 yr old diabetic. Diagnosed at age 10 he is insulin dependant, on, 40 units of Humulin-N q12. Surgery for him is not very safe, as you know, so I've decided to opt out. It's irritating to him, even though he's not exhibiting he's having pain, it's clear he's not comfortable, as he keeps the nictitating membrane over the bottom portion of the effected eye. It is a very tiny mass, for now, it's located on his bottom lid, I am looking to help him, shrink the mass, if possible, as it clearly is irritating.
Dogs are amazing mammals when it comes to making pain, therefore, I'm really concerned if it is causing him any pain?
Since surgery for him is a risk I'm not willing to take, do you have any suggestions for treatment, any ideas? I'm a doctor, epidemologist and my area is mainly reserch, obviously,, however I travel the world to places of rare breakouts, rare disease and I will research treatments, often times natural treatment. However, I'm not a vet, even though they are mammals like us, the fact I'm not educated well enough concerning dogs, I'm not comfortable using any treatment for humans with similarities.

I have a 2 months old dachshund mix. My dog is now experiencing shedding.
My dog, a short- haired mixed breed grew a very pretty strip of fur mane this winter. Now, he’s shedding a fair amount. I’ll try the Sunflower oil. I have some cold-pressed, extra virgin sunflower oil. I found it (of all places, at Walmart). I’m sure he’ll like it. Thanks for the new video. So I’m guessing your black dog doesn’t shed. Is it because she’s a poodle?

You can get the quick dissolve melatonin in different flavors. My dog loves the strawberry. These tablets the dogs can just chew up and eat easily. I give it to my dogs during storms cause they are scared and it sedates them.

Hi doc, my samoyed is diagnosed with hard pad disease. He's 2 years and 4 months old, his back legs are not able to move a lot right now so i have to help him peeing. He hasn't pooped the last two days, i'm assuming it's because his back legs. He's eating well, i gave him 200gram red meat twice a day and plenty of water. The doctor prescribed medicines with antibiotics, glucosamine, and vitamin. The doctor also told me to give my dog IV fluid with syringe but everytime i do it he started to cough and gag. What should i do? Is drinking water enough or is it essential force him to drink IV fluid ? Is this disease cureable? His body temperature is 40,2 celcius and my dog also diagnosed with hip dysplasia. What should i do? Can acupunture help him functioning his back legs again?
Hi- I assume you mean Canine Distemper Virus? Was your dog not vaccinated for it, for it seldom occurs in vaccinated dogs. First you need to ensure he gets adequate fluid, and electrolytes, even if you give them via subcu fluids. Next you need an accurate diagnosis from your vet. @@VeterinarySecrets thanks for replying doc, but sadly my samoyed has passed away a few days ago. Yes, he has already been vaccinated 3 times in total, one when he was a puppy, one when he's 1 year old, one when he's 2 year old. He's 2 years and 4 months old when he died. Few days before he died, he started coughing again. Few hours before he died, his temperature was 40,9 celcius. I gave him medicine from my vet to bring his temperature down but it didn't work at all. He died within a few hours with a liquid mixed with blood came out of his mouth.

Dr Jones the bottle you show (4:30) is that of safflower oil. Do you mean sunflower or safflower oil? I've looked up ceramides and couldn't find a distinction, but that both contain ceramides, and sunflower has it in higher levels.
Good eyes.. I asked my son the pick up sunflower oil, and that is what he brought back. Sunflower was what is used in the study..

Mine too- additional fish oil can really help
Oil causes inflammation, i would never give that to my dogs unless it was cold pressed organic.
