😥 my cat just passed away on my chest @5:17 am yesterday morning. She was a 17 year old petite tuxedo and her name was India. There is now such a huge vacancy and parts of my heart and soul went with her. RIP my little baby girl!🐾🐾
Why am I watching this. I don't own a cat lol 😆 I have a cat now and he is the sweetest little guy. Bought from a shelter and he has quite the personality already.
@@lilianflower3017 I've saved a few actually. I do love cats but right now I have a pug, 2 rats, and a bird. Not a good environment for a cat. When my angels go to heaven I will get a cat 🐈 ♥
I’m guessing people around you own cats and talked about them near your phone. RUclips algorithms are weird but I’ve now rescued a cat, fixed my sink and learned Hungarian thanks to them. The rescued cat loves chilling out next to me doing Hungarian karaoke lol. I think someone forgot to teach the cat Hungarian isn’t in the right country for him to hear it very often. He’s not so much caring that I’m tone deaf 😝
The first one, cat dragging hind legs -- we had this exact thing happen to a cat of ours. She just started yowling, I went to find her dragging her hind legs, still yowling, no outward signs of injury. Took her to the vet, she was diagnosed with a blood clot blocking the supply to her hind legs. Vet gave her some medication (don't remember what it was) and sent us home with saline IVs. I had to give her an IV every few days to get enough fluids into her to help break up the clot -- which it did. Then it happened again -- wash, rinse, repeat. Took longer the second time to break up the clot, Then it happened again -- this time the vet told us we were basically fighting a losing battle, that eventually she would "throw" more and more clots, which each would take longer to break up than the previous one. After the 4th time, when she was in constant pain for almost a week, we made the very difficult decision to let her rest. Funny thing was, she was so good every time I gave her the IV, she didn't struggle at all, and just lay in my lap the whole time. Normally she wouldn't sit in my lap for 2 seconds! Love you Skitty!
I was watching a video about heart failure and how the heart can somehow throw a clot that does precisely what you describe. These cats sound so expensive. Have to go to the vet for everything
I appreciate this video. Over the years we’ve lost 3 cats to Time while still having the blessing of 2 in the home. Our Vet has repeatedly stated how cats hide their pain. Part of it is instinct, not wanting to make themselves an easy target for predators. Many Blessings All 🙏🇺🇸
I used to have a cat and one day started dragging their hind legs, but only for a day. She had strokes in the past so I wouldn’t be surprised if this is what happened to them. Very informative! Great video
@@genshin_is_life955 it’s alright! She was originally a stray, so she probably had some health problems. She died 2 years ago so its alright now. 😊 I will always miss her, though
I'm sorry to hear about your cat's strokes. Ours has hip dysplasia, and I was terrified when his back legs gave out - I thought he was a goner for sure. I wish I'd have seen this video before, seeing him fall like that almost scared me to death. With treatment he's now doing quite well. We lost our 15 year old cat shortly after a series of these episodes back in '16. The vet never mentioned strokes tho. We'll always love and miss our little Annie.
My Cat passed away today. He’s my best friend and I’m so sad. He’s been with me forever when I was a baby he was a kitten. He died at 13 and I’m 13, he’s always been there for all my life. I have a disease that caused me to miss 3 years worth of school and he’s always been on my lap why I was home. He always came and cuddled when I was crying, it’s like he knew when I was sad. Last night was rough knowing the next day he would die. I kissed him and told him I promise I’d seem him again someday and cried. His sister who has been there all his life has been looking around the house looking for him and meowing and I just keep telling her he’s not there and I shows her a picture of him and she rubbed up on the phone.
I had my poodles' teeth cleaned at an astonishing high price of $700. He died 3 days later; my vet admitted that he had a difficult time with the Anesthesia, but STILL charged me the full amount of $700, PLUS $300 for cremation, it's goddamned ridiculous.
@@elizabethtrainer9732 Vets always do this. In 1970, a friend took her cat to be spayed. It died under the (old-time) anesthesia. The vet sent his bill, of course. The friend's husband didn't want to pay it, but they didn't want a blot on their credit report, either. They paid.
@@elizabethtrainer9732 I took my cat to the vets because he was sick, he said that he had a tooth abscess and would need his fangs removed. They also said that he needed his teeth cleaned. That was not the end though, he was still sick and getting worse. We took him back to the vet and they did x-rays and said that he had cancer and needed to be put down. They gave only a $50 refund on the total cost of around $700. Finally, my wife was convinced to find another Vet. This was the same vet that had her medicating a hamster with a tumor that eventually died. She spent almost $500 dollars trying to keep him alive. The hamster was over three years old and I told her to put him down as he was very close to old age death as it was.
I lost my kringle back in June he died peacefully on his favorite spot in the closet he was 19 Years old. I miss him. He would meet me at the door when I came home from work. I miss his loud meow and loved his treats
My guy turned 19 in Sept. he’s having a rough time right now. He has an abscess in his left jaw. The infection is now on top of his head. Last night I took him to the ER and he dehydrated, anemic, very slow heart rate, and temp. He was definitely beginning to pass. Hopefully he’ll get through this one too!! If not, I’ll be forced to say goodbye!!
My cat had to get put downs she was 14 and had a bladder problem she wouldn’t get better as we said goodbye and went back home the house was so empty it was a sad day but now my family is adopting 3 sibling cats/kittens and we are happy Atleast my 14 year old Cat kaylee is now out of pain and in a better place You will Be remembered
I had two cats who had some of these symptoms. I took both to the Vet. With both, I was told that I was an over-anxious owner. Both cats had to be euthanized. One had diabetes, the other had cancer! 😿 If your Vet ignores your concerns, then, get a second opinion. My cats were both house cats and I was very aware of changes in their behaviour and symptoms of illness.
I'm wondering why did you have to euthanize the account with diabetes diabetes in cats is treatable. unless he or she was so far along that she had so much damage to her body. but generally it is treatable. and sometimes cancer is too if it's in the beginning stages
"account" should be " cat" "" "sometimes when you speak the words and don't double check them before sending you have mistakes that you don't know how they got that out of that out of the words you actually spoke
Both were not diagnosed until it was too late. In the cat with diabetes, I was told that it had a raised blood sugar but that this was common, in cats, as they get stressed going to the Vet! My cat was quite happy going to the Vet! After taking it in every day , for a week, it had developed jaundice. I was, then, told, by a more senior Vet, that my cat had liver damage. He added that cats are difficult to treat for diabetes, anyway! The cat wth colon cancer was taken to the vet several times, over 7 mths. I was told that it wasn't abnormal for my (shorthaired) cat to vomit a few times every week! Then, another Vet did blood tests and told me that it had pancreatitis. After no response to treatment, my cat lost more and more weight. The next Vet said that my cat, probably, had cancer, causing a blockage in the colon. My cat was not able to keep down food, or medication. It got to the stage where he was very weak and dehydrated/malnourished. When I took him to the Vet, it was a different one on duty. He refused to euthanize my cat and said that he wanted to put him on a drip, overnight. I wasn't happy but left him at the Vet practice. He was left from 8pm to 8am, on the drip. No Ringers solution was given. When the Vet had returned in the morning, my cat was suffering from a fluid overload! I was not allowed to attend until 5pm, as the Vet was 'too busy' to see me!! When my partner and I saw my cat, he could barely lift his head, or open his eyes. He just gave a weak mew. I told the Vet that I wanted him to put my cat out of it's misery, which he, finally, did.
@@olivinarichmond6969 I'm so sorry for the misdiagnosis of both your cats. That is heartbreaking. My kitten was misdiagnosed too, several of my friends are cat rescue people, they immediately told me the vet was wrong. I took her to another vet, but sadly even properly diagnosed she passed away quickly. She was at home in my bed, with her littermate cleaning her and loving on her, even after she passed. We miss her terribly but glad she isn't suffering anymore. #FIPsucks
my cat passed away yesterday due to cancer. i knew he only had half a year, but it still was so unexpected. he started to feel unwell at night and died in the morning right in front of me. i miss him so much
I had the same story and I’m sorry for your loss…I literally saw the lights go out on my buddy they went from black to gray or some other color o don’t want to remember
As a cat owner, I agree with the broken limb one. One my cats kept limping, and we thought of it as a sprain because he recently jumped off a closet shelf. Apparently we found out he broke one of his front legs. So yes, definitely take it more seriously.
I lost my first cat the day after i got him because of a blood clot...i got him on a Friday afternoon after school and his passing really traumatized me, especially since he was howling in pain...i woke-up to it & we went to the vet immediately but it was too late. R.I.P., Meowger
My beautiful black, silky, Cleopatra had to be put down after a clot blocked blood flow to both rear legs. I heard her give a loud meow around 4am. Called her to come to bed. Woke up about half later to realize she wasn't in bed. Finally found her hiding quietly behind the couch. I put her in my lap thinking she had an upset stomach or something. After a few minutes I realized her rear legs were splayed out in an odd way. She screamed in pain when I moved. By the time we got to the vet her legs were completely paralyzed and she was in severe pain.❤😥 It would have taken meds to dissolve the clot, which meant multiple visits a week to a specialist to monitor blood. Then physical therapy to help build some strength in the rear legs. Even with all that, odds were she would only live another 4-6 months. I strongly feel the best way to honor a cat is to rescue another kitty as soon as you are emotionally ready to do so. For some reason, I started searching shelters for a new pal, in just few weeks. An orange tabby claimed me. There was another black panther at the same shelter named Twizzler. He was just a kitten. A real firecracker! But I also believe older cats are greatly overlooked. My tabby, Purrl was 2 1/2 years old. Little did I know that 3 weeks later the country would shut down. Purrl got me thru the pandemic and showed me how much she missed me when I was in the hospital for 5 weeks. She didn't leave my side or stop rubbing up against me for 3 days. After that it was back to normal. Gotta love those kitties! (Sorry this is so long.)
Wait, what?!? Your orange tabby is a girl? Wow lucky you, that's fairly rare. Your comment is not too long, it's what comment sections are for. You are sharing your experiences which in turn, will help others. One thing that you can do (if it really bothers you) is put the minimum necessary requirement in the initial comment then "replying to yourself" and adding every little detail there. (Or break it up into smaller chunks like I did here.) Personally I always have to get an additional pet long BEFORE my (last) current one dies. They mean too much to me. I cannot function without them and positively know that I'll be too upset and "lose it" if/while trying to replace them afterwards. But animals (&kids) are my life, I'm just weird that way🤷♀️
My cat also had the same problem, blood clot paralysed both his rear legs. And it unfortunately happened at night. My family and I spent hours on the phone begging any vet we could get on the phone to let us bring him for urgent care. All of them refused saying they don't work after 4pm. I begged and cried on the phone but each and every one of them were dismissive or downright rude saying that they don't have just that to do in their lives. I get that vets have a life too but it was a serious emergency. None of them agreed to see him, not even the one found at a 30 seconds walk from my home. I could only give him some of his painkillers that we got from a vet once and wait all night by his side. Managed to get him to a vet eventually at 9am and they said that it was too late, that we waited too long and that his legs were already dying. And that if we had brought him in right away, he would have had a chance of survival. We had to euthanise him to stop the pain in the end. It was heart wrenching and traumatising. Now a year later my husband rescued a small kitten and I'm terrified of something similar happening.
@@farheenmoniaruch9473 😿I'm sure sorry that happened to you😭 But I'm glad to see that you're researching and trying to be prepared to help your new roommate as much as you can 👏😻👍 Forewarned is forearmed. Knowledge is Power. Good luck and God bless your efforts with them 🙏😺🙏
😿I'm so sad to hear about what happened to Cleopatra (&you)😭 My cat, Miss Bunny, jumped on my chest while I was asleep on my back and I swatted her to the floor before I even knew what was happening 🙀 Her legs seemed fine but she cried and her tail was limp/ paralyzed. I felt absolutely horrible and we took her to the Vet's 1st available appointment. On the way there, she (bloody) pooped on my daughter's lap in the car and then she was fine when the Vet saw her. 🤷♀️You just never know what will occur when animals are in your life🤦🏼♀️
At the same time, there are exceptions. A really stressed cat will sometimes pant through their mouth & be fine. (Like their first car ride, moving to a new home, etc.) As long as they don't repeat that behavior, they don't suffer from serious disease. IMO, the most important thing is to be aware of repeated behavior changes. Observation is key to keeping any pet healthy.
I thank you for this very informative video. Yes, watching a cat’s behavior is a very wise thing to do. I had adopted 3 cats from friends because they moving and were unable to take them with them. I quickly noticed that two were older but one also had a really soft stomach, another was thin, and the third seemed younger, but okay. Recently, the first 2-cats mentioned passed away both were older cats. The vet told me the first one was between 12 to 20 yrs old, and she died from kidney failure. The 2nd one, who had a soft stomach, never came out of her hiding place and died hiding under a couch where I couldn’t find her until much later on, she only showed herself once, and never afterwards. Because of the way I found her, she definitely died from a heart attack or cancer. The 3rd cat is alive and sleeps with me whenever I do, she likes to make sure I’m safe and also follows me around the house, but there may be another reason, all three cats were together for a long time, and with missing the other two, I’ve become her companion now. Besides the three I adopted, I also had two others older cats before and which now keeps Annie company as well, but since they are older, it is only a matter of time before they also will leave this world. ❤🙏🏼
My cat has 3 of the above mentioned syndrome(dragging hind legs), not being able to poop, and stopping of food intake. I was trying some medications from an online vet. But after seeing this video, now I will take him to the vet tomorrow
My cat is also dragging hind legs and and is not drinking any milk . BTW we haven't given any solid food yet . I'm seriously worried for her. I'm from Lahore . Today I visited vet clinic but it was closed. My cat's condition is really serious. If someone know cheap clinic in Lahore then please tell. 😢😢
I wish to be a vet when I grow up and spreading fake information like on your front cover should be illegal, but your video is kind and can save meany lives. Thank you for caring for them!
I had a cat a few years ago who could not take care of himself. His sh*t got stuck in his hair, and he didnt do anything about it. We tried grooming, bathing and pretty much anything to help him. The only thing we didn't do, was to call a vet. My parents think it is too expensive, although I was certain that we should visit one anyways. I was too young back then to have a good enough influence on my parents, so unfortunately they decided to put him down. I did back then, and I do now, think it is a great shame. I wish I had more knowledge back then.
I had a New Cat and i have 2 sister and mom All both of us need to take care of her because there's so Much Doggie in the Outdoor We adopt a Cat and she's a Girl She was Sweet, kind We warn her don't go Outdoor Because there's so much Doggie in our House Thank you for explain these ❤❤❤
I’m so scaredddd I been crying for 2 days ☹️ I really hope my baby is okay .. she’s only 2 months and she’s not eating or drinking.. she’s very very weak and is hiding from me a lot which is the total opposite of her .. went to the vet and got X-rays done and my boo swallowed something that might’ve cause objections and might have to have a $6,000 surgery which I don’t have 😩😩😩😩 please pray 🙏🏽
I'm so sorry as I understand what it's like to not be able to afford medical care. I am praying that your cat passed the object without surgery and is purring happily by your side. Many prayers and Much Love
Vet prices bother me alot. Different times I guess. When I was in practice, nobody was turned away. We paid for the he Meds etc. Anything other would have gone against the reason I became a vet. Hope there are some out there who still feel this way.
You would have been a very good vet to have. You care more for quality care of the animal than the money. Now you cant find a place you can even make payments at. You have yo have some kind of insurance plan. At the vet I was referred to, you now have to pay a $200.00 deposit just yo get your pet looked at. I am sorry I havent been able to go to a vet in years because of how expensive it is and it has gotten, especially having 5 cats.
Nas Ally .... Thats awful. I am so sorry for your sweet baby. I lnow how you feel. One of my cats needed surgery which i couldnt afford but i had no choice because I couldnt let him suffer. At that time, though, I was able to make monthly payments. His surgery came to $2000.00, not nearly as much as yours. We love our pets but lots, or I would say, most of us can't afford their medical care, especially at the time it is needed, which makes it awful for our pets who are the ones to suffer. The high cost of medical care for our animals and humans has gotten outrageous. Higher than what they need to be and its the animals that suffers and the owners who most times have no choice but to watch them slowly deteriorate.. I pray it works out for your sweetie.
Last week I literally had a vet tell me I needed to euthanize my seventeen-year-old cat. She was dragging her hind leg. Only after they tried hitting me with $1,000 hospitalization bill, so they could run a whole bunch of different tests on her. Took her home instead. Next day Cat is fine, walking jumping eating etc. No dragging of hind legs. .. and to think last week could have been my cat's last day with me. And now she's just as happy as can be... old, but still fighting to live. Wish there were millions of you.
RIP Galaxy...but u left 2 orphaned kittens on me to take care. Wishing you a great healthy motherhood for next life.I hope we will meet again after ur rebirth.
#15 happened to us. The first time we saw that we rushed him to the vet and it was a blockage. Sadly, they treated him but his bladder still ruptured at the hospital they were monitoring him at and we had to put him to sleep. I miss him so much.
For anyone worrying about the first one, it’s sorta half true. Sometimes cats stick out their back legs as a greeting. Some are too lazy to actually lift up their legs all the way, so they just kinda do that. If your cat does that then goes back to walking normally, your ok. If the cat does wut the video said, you should get a vet or smthn. Hope this helped! ( if anyone is offended, this comment is just information. Don’t come after me or anything. )
I rescued my Remi a week ago. A cow stepped on her foot and I took her to the vet immediately. She lost 2 claws but she took it like a champ. Now she doesn’t leave my side, my sun and moon ♥️
Additionally, cats may throw up their undigested food often if they are on a hard food diet from lack of moisture. I mix a spoonfull of canned food with hard food to stop this.
My cat passed away a long time ago on June 13nth 2022. His name was Nico. He died at the Age of 12. I watched his life slowly fade away 😢😢😢😢😢😢 that was the worst day ever, r.i.p my little fluffball!
Pasha, my ever best cat - a shelter rescue, suddenly screamed; pupils huge, couldn't stand on his hind legs. I rushed him to my vet (of course, on a Friday at 4:30 PM). 20 minutes later, dazed and crying, I came out without him. "Saddle Thrombus." Unless you can rush him to a specialty clinic, it's fatal; I live in rural Arkansas. All I have is his memory and the booklet I wrote, "Pasha, From Animal Shelter to a Sheltered Life." It also has short stories of his shelter buddies and how well our shelter was run (I volunteered there for years). 😻
This happend to my cat too, and we had a night open specialist cat hospital just near us, even though we brought her in 30 minutes after her starting to yeowl in pain, we had to put her down because it was too far progressed. Losing the use of their hindlegs is normally the first symptom of this terrible illness and by then its already too late. Hug your cats and love them when you can.
My Bengal cat of 14 years started dragging it's feet took to the vet no visible blood clots was treated for a infection. Within a month he was able to walk fully again but sadly 2 months later he died suddenly on the floor by me. He collapsed couldn't move and pissed and shit himself and died within minutes he had a heart murmur but other then that was healthy. Be careful I read lots of cats recover from the hind legs prolbrem then dye within a few months it's sad but he was a great cat with a great life ...I was there for him ...and of course it was unexpected he was seemingly perfectly fine ..and once he walked again I hoped he was fine after time went on by worried his time was limited. I luckily was off work for a month prior and spent the entire last month with him .
My kitten once dragging her back during the quarantine months, the only 3 vets we have required to be booked in advanced so we had no choice but to wait while praying for home remedy. The vet won't tell us what to and just told to wait for our appointment, too bad the internet is not a friendly places as well and most cat lovers can't read properly that vet don't available 24/7 so they didn't help but causing more panic. (Fortunately) he passed out on the next morning in his sleep after i gave him his favorite wet food for breakfast. What's weird was he suddenly jump into my pillow and had his forever rest there.
I have two cats and my cat Tiger vomiting so much and my other cat Cookies coughs so much thank you for the advice I will take them to the vet immediately
My cat's eye pupils weren't the same I thought it won't matter a lot but he died 3 days later please don't ignore any of these signs even little things.
#16 happened to my Brandy, 9 years old on June 11th of this year. I had to put her to sleep. Just absolutely devastating...I miss her so much and so does her sister. Ugh.
So sorry for all the people whose pet cat(s) has passed away :( I’ve never had a cat before, I think it’s interesting how people can be allergic to cats and cats can be allergic to stuff also!
I had a cat that was coughing, but I didn't recognize it as such. He had a very sensitive tummy and would often vomit with slight variations in diet so I thought he was going to vomit and quickly removed him from the furniture or my lap to the floor. He died within a few months vomiting clear liquid. He was the runt of the litter and while he grew up big, he always seemed to have some difficulties with his back legs (nothing close to the severity of what this video showed) and was a rather clumsy boy. After he died I researched all these symptoms and found out about the coughing and together with the clear liquid vomit when he died and the "clumsiness", it was very likely he had some sort of congenital heart disorder that worsened near the end and killed him. I'm sorry for shoving you off my lap so much, Little Guy, I just didn't know. Now I can recognize the signs of kitty heart issues, though so it won't happen to my potential future cats.
My 10 year old cat, in the past year has started vomiting white/yellow bile. He was fine, but as of tonight he's sick again. Last visit they said Chronic bronchitis and chronic gastritis. His vet is closed over the weekend. So I have to go an hour to another one in the morning. I'm so worried. He's did a complete 180 😢
The hardest thing about letting a animal into your life is having to let go .Which is why we have such a difficult time seeing what is going on with them .The signs are there but the possibility of losing them is something we have a hard time accepting .on Wednesday Sept .7.2022 I put to rest two of cats Kidney and liver disease .Please see the signs before it is too late
Bad breath in older cats can also be a sign of kidney issues. This is important to fall up as pulling teeth isn't always for bad breath. Very few vets address this!!
My kitty passed a couple of months ago. My cat had a clot and her legs were just done. Took her in, and had to put herm down. She also had heart disease. I was devastated. Lost her sister a couple of years ago. I cried my eyes out with both of them. Not getting a cat for a while.
My cat started bumping into things. Could tell she was not seeing well. Got her to the vet. They checked her blood pressure. Very high. They got her on, yes, blood pressure medicine. Because it was caught soon her eyesight came back. She stayed on blood pressure medicine for approximately 6 months. Lost lots of weight. Then I had to let her go. I save a lot of strays. Have them spayed or neutered. I have learned through the years that rescued cats from outside can have more health problems due to inbreeding. I do my best giving them love and care, and food. But I have to also know when it is time to let them go and it is devastating.
Our cat, ironically named "Lucky", started dragging her back legs. Within an hour she was at the emergency vets (1am) and was put to sleep ! Sad, sad time.
That first item has a name. It's called 'Saddle Thrombis.' I went through this with my cat in the late 90's. At the time the clinic convinced me to put him down. Never had to make such a difficult decision.
Number 16 (the first one) happened to my cat. It was horrible. It's called a "saddle thrombosis". I rushed her to our university veterinary emergency dept. They said there was nothing to help it. I had to have her euthanized right then. This was a cat who fought like a tiger to stay out of the cat carrier. When I heard her scream and she started dragging herself, I knew she had to go to the vet. I was scared to pick her up, because I thought she'd broken her back and it would make it worse to pick her up. So I watched as she dragged herself across the living room and voluntarily got into an open cat carrier. She wanted me to get help. Even though the vet school was only 5 minutes away, it was just hopeless. I hope this never happens to you.
Oh my condolences....that definitely took air out of my lungs reading this. I so fear my baby will have some type of emergency and I will have to quickly make a choice that I probably will have mixed feelings of regret.
My cat's been taken to the vet many times, his pupils are always large. Vets have said nothing about it. He's been to multiple different vets and other than the diseases he's always had (He's a rescued stray, we're doing what we can to keep his health issues under control :3) he's perfectly fine according to them. Should I once again bring up the dilated pupils? In bright lighting, they shrink to slits, but other than when the sun is in his face they're massive.
Yes I think you should keep being persistent with your vet about it. If they still refuse to give an alternate answer, visit another vet. Pets' lives are very precious after all 😢
My 12 year old maine coon has slightly dilated pupils. His vet is incredibly thorough, and has checked them repeatedly. He's fine. These videos can be alarmist sometimes. Edit: if you are concerned about it, do go to the vet to make sure.
11 brought back sad memories. One afternoon our cat, back when i was a kid, started coughing. Brought him to the vet, but he could do nothing about it. Weak heart, was drowning from the inside as his lungs started to fill with fluid. Still up to this day i remember my dad beeing in our cellar, petting our cat inside the coffin he made for him, as he was still alive, tears in his eyes. We all loved our cat... but to him - it was his second baby. Burried him in our garden. So yea... always watch your cats behaviour and act if something is off. There is no guarentee it will always be a happy end, but if you are a loving cat owner you will regret ignoring these things.
Third eyelid isn't always necessarily serious. Sometimes when a cat has a cold, that appears. For some cats, it comes and goes (on and off again chronic issue)
@@unabashed While seeing the nictitating membrane "isn't always necessarily serious" as you say, it is always a reason to see the Vet if it doesn't go away on its own in a short time &/or you can't find the cause and rectify it yourself. And btw, "a chronic issue" isn't exactly a good thing or an excuse to avoid the Vet. It has a chronic cause.
I love these cat Videos. I have 2 cats. I've had them since they were 5 weeks old Now one is 14yrs and the other one is 15 yrs. Old. I love all cats. These little kittens on the videos are so tiny. I would love to be the one that finds them. I'd love to hold them I'd never. Let them go. I'm glad the rescue place helps .the. Cats.
Honestly, most Pet health problems these days are due to chemically treated food. I stopped giving my birds "vet recommended" powder food and they're doing better. Some of my birds passed away due to ill health and it stopped happening when I stopped feeding what the vet recommended. Natural food is the best and will always remain the best for pets and humans. All illnesses are caused by packaged food.
While I agree with you that many pet health problems are caused by the pet food industry, their "corner cutting" and the extrudiation process they use to make kibble, but... "Total statements" like your "All illnesses are caused by packaged food." are rarely ever correct. Health issues are also caused by indiscriminate breeding, exposure to toxins, injuries and abuse, among other things. ALSO...Many Vet's get a commission from selling certain products in their office. Btw, did you hear that Hill's Science Diet LOST THAT LAWSUIT over it being "a prescription" diet (to trick people into trusting them & buying their's exclusively)?!? 👏😻👍
I appreciate the video, but I wanted to respond to the first one mentioned (16 - Dragging Hind Legs). Unfortunately, the video makes it sound like a visit to the vet will clear everything up. Unfortunately, if your cat develops this issue, it almost always results in euthenasia. It's near impossible to remove the clot and the only real option is a human drug (many many thousands of dollars) that 'may' break up the clot, and most vets don't carry it. I lost a cat to this issue and it was very traumatizing. The best advice is to recognize if your animal is susceptable and try to mitigate it before it happens. Male mixed-breed cats (particularly tabbies) are prone to developing enlarged hearts as they get older. Procedures that involve the use of anesthesia (like teeth cleanings) can cause the heart to slow and greatly increase the risk of developing clots in enlarged hearts. This is the clots that can cause the paralysis. This is what happened to mine. I didn't know he had an enlarged heart, and he went in for a routine teeth cleaning. I noticed he was having a tough time coming off the gas in recovery. Less than 24 hrs later I had to have him euthanized at a 24hr emergency vet clinic because there was nothing they could do to help him and I knew he was in horrible pain. I'm sorry for this long comment and if it sounds bad, but I wouldn't wish anyone else to experience a trauma like this if they can possibly avoid it.
No need to apologise for the long comment. You're just trying to tell fellow pet owner what to look for. It also say you are a responsible pet owner. It's very painful to lose a furbaby
@@ancientmoon8442 You're welcome. I'm not advocating for people to stop doing these procedures, but just to be aware of conditions like this, especially in older cats. There are scans a vet can do to see if your feline may have an enlarged heart.
@@ancientmoon8442 I can really recommend brushing your cat's teeth yourself. Start then as kittens, and it'll be easier. There are chicken or fish flavored toothpastes, and tiny brushes. Don't stop feeding them wet food, but be sure they have a bowl of daytime snack food--the hard, tarter-cleaning food that works well.
OMG THX FoR ThE VID my cat drinks a lot of water and I just found out that it’s very bad for my cat it’s has been going on since I got her my poor baby 😢😭🐈
my male cats pupils are always super dilated because he's super energetic, he plays 24/7, we also have a open at all times catnip bucket he sits in so he's always super high and having fun xD with the vomiting parts my male cats also vomits a lot, he eats WAY to fast and doesn't chew so he often throws up unchewed food back up. we obviously don't let him re-eat his vomit.
Have you tried a slow feeding/puzzle dish? They are generally used to slow down fast eaters so that vomiting doesn't happen and you can find some fairly inexpensive ones.
Hey there; I’ve read your comments & I lost my darling cat (Diamond) to bone cancer March 14, 2014. I had to put her down that day rt after 12pm. It was the worst day of my life prior to losing my mom in Oct 1998 from lung. I won’t be getting another cat because it’s too costly & I’ve finally given her items away for someone else to use. But…yes, my heart hurt terribly! It hurt so badly I wanted to end my life! I feel very deeply & am very sensitive. So, I feel for you all. 💔😔😢you can believe that.
I lost my kitty to number 16 here. Saddle thrombosis, i miss you everyday 😭😭 if anyone has a kitty at home, tell them i love them & give them pets from me 😊
My persian puss(15) suddenly lost weight unexplicably and took him to the vet for analysis...he had kidney failure and lived 7 more months... eventually died last year..anyway he had best of cat lives, coddeled, all goodies in the world and very much love...
This is good to know, all kitties are so awesome and unique! We have several rescue kitties and love all of them. Hey, does anyone out there know that the "Humane" Society chops off a kitty ear when they spay/neuter them?! We were horrified and found out first hand that this is true when it happened to one of ours, I still can't believe it and am in shock. NO kitty deserves that, feral or otherwise and ours are all loving sweet cats--we NEVER would have taken her in there if we had known what they would do and feel so guilty. Please help stop this cruelty right now, tell everyone out there! If they feel they need to "identify" the animal later on they could do a belly tat when asleep, now that would be more humane. This is a terrible practice for them to continue, please help stop it now...your voice really matters!
Vet visits can be reduced with quality food. Cheap kibble is nutrient deficient and can seriously mess up your pet’s health. Case in point…when a colleague bragged years ago that he got his dog food in huge bags for $13.00 and then proceeded to describe how his dog had a serious incontinence problem. Just because they’re animals, doesn’t mean they can thrive on garbage and by-products. Our 16 year old cat has only been to the vet for neutering and shots. He gets expensive cat food…but he’s thriving for his age and he’s outdoors much of the time.
Alright, this is the second time I've seen this on one of these kinds of lists. Do people seriously go "Hey, my cat is no longer walking using their back legs, I wonder if there's something wrong?" Like...what was the clue Sherlock?
Yeah, I agree. Many of these things we may not think about too much like if a cat is drinking more water or throwing up a little more. But yes, if they are dragging their back legs or even limping, that's a sure sign something is wrong. You don't have to be a doctor to know something is not right when your 4 legged fur baby is not walking on all 4 legs.
@@vickieclark5931 Some of these are surely very helpful as you may not notice. I just...don't get the back legs thing :D Some "Cries for help" are subtle; I can't use my legs no more does not feel like one of them...
@@tippy2k2 Well, if it's about just 1 leg, then the owner might think that the cat just sprained a muscle or has a bruise/blister, which may cure. Telling you this because I was that owner, who was just hoping for the best. Unfortunately, it hasn't happened. So, this point is not strange, just a bit exaggerated.
That they do know how to do well. I try to watch my cats as best as I can to see if there something wrong. It's a good thing the vets office is within 5 minutes away.
I'm literally crying right now because of all the comments of cats passing away and their siblings looking for them and not understand that they aren't there anymore. I never want my cats to leave me but they will and I wish they wouldn't but I don't want them to feel pain as they are slowly dieing.
Took longer the second time to break up the clot,
Then it happened again -- this time the vet told us we were basically fighting a losing battle, that eventually she would "throw" more and more clots, which each would take longer to break up than the previous one.
Ive had several cats pass naturally. Out of nowhere when their pupils are gigantic is gut wrenching. They look like an entitely different soul.
Why didn't you take them to the vet
I appreciate this video. Over the years we’ve lost 3 cats to Time while still having the blessing of 2 in the home. Our Vet has repeatedly stated how cats hide their pain. Part of it is instinct, not wanting to make themselves an easy target for predators.

@@elizabethtrainer9732 Omg, so sorry!

Omg also im so sorry for that happening to your cats
@@olivinarichmond6969 I'm so sorry for the misdiagnosis of both your cats. That is heartbreaking.
My kitten was misdiagnosed too, several of my friends are cat rescue people, they immediately told me the vet was wrong. I took her to another vet, but sadly even properly diagnosed she passed away quickly. She was at home in my bed, with her littermate cleaning her and loving on her, even after she passed. We miss her terribly but glad she isn't suffering anymore. #FIPsucks

I am so so 😞 ❤, sending love
♥️
Wait, what?!? Your orange tabby is a girl? Wow lucky you, that's fairly rare.
Your comment is not too long, it's what comment sections are for. You are sharing your experiences which in turn, will help others.
One thing that you can do (if it really bothers you) is put the minimum necessary requirement in the initial comment then "replying to yourself" and adding every little detail there. (Or break it up into smaller chunks like I did here.)
Personally I always have to get an additional pet long BEFORE my (last) current one dies.

My cat, Miss Bunny, jumped on my chest while I was asleep on my back and I swatted her to the floor before I even knew what was happening 🙀 Her legs seemed fine but she cried and her tail was limp/ paralyzed.
I just want to say if your cat pants too much you need to bring your cat to the vet
It's fine for them to pant a little
my cat did this when she gave birth shes fine now

My cat died this morning, because of the blood clot and the doctor was just 1 hour late. I wish I could recognise it earlier 😞
Wow! I currently don’t have a kitty but this is good to know. Thank you!
RIP Galaxy...but u left 2 orphaned kittens on me to take care. Wishing you a great healthy motherhood for next life.I hope we will meet again after ur rebirth.
Rip galaxy 😢😢😢😢😢😢😂😂😢😢😂😂die se que es mimi ed
It's better to feed mostly wet food and even add water to that. Dry food is bad for pets.
I recently lost my cat...😢🐱It's very difficult without her❤🐈Miss her hug, cuddle, purring & sometimes scratching sound everywhere...RIP my dear Mamo🙏
My cat passed away a long time ago on June 13nth 2022. His name was Nico. He died at the Age of 12. I watched his life slowly fade away 😢😢😢😢😢😢 that was the worst day ever, r.i.p my little fluffball!
How did it start?

Thank you you saved our kitten
Sorry for your loss😞
I have 7 cats to take care of so this video is vital to me
I have two cats and my cat Tiger vomiting so much and my other cat Cookies coughs so much thank you for the advice I will take them to the vet immediately

Now I can recognize the signs of kitty heart issues, though so it won't happen to my potential future cats.
thats really sad im sorry
Mine under 1 year old kitten passed away ❤😢
I have 2 left please 🥺 pray 🙏 for them❤

Bad breath in older cats can also be a sign of kidney issues. This is important to fall up as pulling teeth isn't always for bad breath. Very few vets address this!!
Hello, how are you doing
Rightly said... It demands great attention....conditions of Kittens deterirate so quickly and go beyond treatment.
I'm super blessed to have a smart af and healthy cat the last 14 years. I hope she can stay a bit longer. Knock on wood.
My kitty passed a couple of months ago. My cat had a clot and her legs were just done. Took her in, and had to put herm down. She also had heart disease. I was devastated. Lost her sister a couple of years ago. I cried my eyes out with both of them. Not getting a cat for a while.
Thank you so much for sharing this video. Very informative video about cats ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hi 🙂 my cat cooking he is so cute
I hope this never happens to you.
just happened to my cat. he died 2 days ago. at 11.45pm, no vet was opened. so he died while i hugged him. he was just 2 years old 😭
Oh my condolences....that definitely took air out of my lungs reading this. I so fear my baby will have some type of emergency and I will have to quickly make a choice that I probably will have mixed feelings of regret.
Dear God, that was just awful, for you and your kitty, I am so sorry.
😢😢😢😢😢
I am so sorry for your loss I recently lost my son and have a very sick daughter
😢😢😢😢🎉🎉🎉🎉
My old cat had a UTI but we didn't know his bladder exploded R.I.P ken
11 brought back sad memories. One afternoon our cat, back when i was a kid, started coughing. Brought him to the vet, but he could do nothing about it. Weak heart, was drowning from the inside as his lungs started to fill with fluid. Still up to this day i remember my dad beeing in our cellar, petting our cat inside the coffin he made for him, as he was still alive, tears in his eyes. We all loved our cat... but to him - it was his second baby. Burried him in our garden. So yea... always watch your cats behaviour and act if something is off. There is no guarentee it will always be a happy end, but if you are a loving cat owner you will regret ignoring these things.
im so sorry about your loss
Rhe first one happened to my cat and it was sad but hes in a better place
The cat that's hiding at 5:10 is also showing his/her third eyelid, which is also another sign of a serious problem.
I lost myy kittens today I miss him a lot it gave me sooo much love and care.i was extremely happy inthere presence I miss him a lot
Thanks for your comment! I had no idea about this particular risk from a routine teeth cleaning for older cats.
OMG THX FoR ThE VID my cat drinks a lot of water and I just found out that it’s very bad for my cat it’s has been going on since I got her my poor baby 😢😭🐈
my male cats pupils are always super dilated because he's super energetic, he plays 24/7, we also have a open at all times catnip bucket he sits in so he's always super high and having fun xD
with the vomiting parts my male cats also vomits a lot, he eats WAY to fast and doesn't chew so he often throws up unchewed food back up. we obviously don't let him re-eat his vomit.
Have you tried a slow feeding/puzzle dish? They are generally used to slow down fast eaters so that vomiting doesn't happen and you can find some fairly inexpensive ones.
Good to know. Thank you 😊😺
Olive oil is good for hair bolls ! No Dr. Needed ! Tespoon or less on the size !
Saddle thrombosis, i miss you everyday 😭😭 if anyone has a kitty at home, tell them i love them & give them pets from me 😊
Ok
❤😊I will for you! My cat Vern passed away over the summer😢
I’m going to listen to this again when I am older
Vet care is way to expensive
I love my cat! He had UTI had to rush him to a vet, he has been on diet ever since
💖💓💖✨🐈🐈☺😉I LOVE CATS!!💖💓💖😉🐈.
Just because they’re animals,
doesn’t mean they can thrive
on garbage and by-products. Our 16 year old cat has only been to the vet for neutering and shots. He gets expensive cat food…but he’s thriving for his age and he’s outdoors much of the time.
WHO else is watching this without a cat? 👀
The number 1 is recently happening to my kitten and Im worried😞
Alright, this is the second time I've seen this on one of these kinds of lists. Do people seriously go "Hey, my cat is no longer walking using their back legs, I wonder if there's something wrong?"
Like...what was the clue Sherlock?
Yeah, I'm inclined to agree with you on that. Any time someone is dragging their legs, it's a safe bet that something is wrong.
I just...don't get the back legs thing :D
Some "Cries for help" are subtle; I can't use my legs no more does not feel like one of them...
Lol cute
@@tippy2k2 Well, if it's about just 1 leg, then the owner might think that the cat just sprained a muscle or has a bruise/blister, which may cure. Telling you this because I was that owner, who was just hoping for the best. Unfortunately, it hasn't happened. So, this point is not strange, just a bit exaggerated.
This video helped me know what happened to my cat when he died.
I’m crying my cat has all those symptons 😭
Thanks bro my sister left to another country and she left her cat here with me to take care of it.
That they do know how to do well. I try to watch my cats as best as I can to see if there something wrong. It's a good thing the vets office is within 5 minutes away.
same its a good thingy lol
Thumbnail: round pupils are bad! My cat: has round pupils ALL THE TIME
When I had my cat, she had those same problems
I'm literally crying right now because of all the comments of cats passing away and their siblings looking for them and not understand that they aren't there anymore. I never want my cats to leave me but they will and I wish they wouldn't but I don't want them to feel pain as they are slowly dieing. They are both 7 years old and have been with me as long as I can remember and I can't imagine what it's like to lose them
I'm crying while typing this. Thinking about my cats passing away and feeling guilty about it.
Very useful video thank you 👍

My cat died a few hours ago... I was bringing her home from seeing the vet coz she's sick, she died in her carrier before we got home... I wish I was able to comfort her in her last moments but her last just had be in that darned carrier, I wonder if she felt lonely
I am so sorry to hear how you lost your beloved cat. I would feel the same way.. and my cat hates the dreaded carrier too. You did your best for her and she knows you loved her.
I just found 2 Kittens in the pit and now l take care of them and named them sea biscuit and bubbles❤❤
