    Raw meats are perfectly fine, just try and get free range so it doesn't have antibiotics and hormones. Feeding my cat raw minced beef saved him from death once and he regularly gets raw chicken as a treat. My kitten as well. Milk is fine in small amounts but it's best not to give it to kittens just in case it upsets their delicate digestive system. Fish is alright in small amounts but it's safer to stay away from it because some cats can be allergic to it. This includes fish flavoring. Also definitely keep away from potatoes for both cats and dogs.

    Every animal needs time to adjust to a different diet or kibble
    I buy a new bag preferably before hes done the bag

    I had one cat who was soooooo bonkers for mandarin oranges that you buy in a can or the little fruit cups. She would almost attack me when she'd see me eating them. I never knew they were toxic, and she'd regularly get some of my mandarins cuz I use to crave them when I was pregnant with my 1st child. They never bothered her tummy, and she was never gassy. But I guess every kitty is different. Maybe she had some kind of disorder or lack of a certain vitamin, but I've never seen another cat in all my life act that way towards that kind of orange. She never bothered regular fresh oranges. Just the mandarins! Well all I know is she lived a good long life, and that I miss her all the time. We had so many good times together. May you rest in kitty heaven my Jackie Chan! You were one of a kind!!!! I shall always have a special spot for you in my heart!!

    Actually, it is poison for them, but animals aren't stupid as people expect them as. Cats, either all animals know what they can eat and what isn't good for them. So if you ever acidentally give bad food to your cat, don't be too stressed. But anyway, always make sure to check if there's bad food for them cause some of cats aren't able to sniff so they couldn't know if it is bad or not.

    You mentioned that providing different cat brands can cause problems as well as feeding one brand every day. What is the harm in providing different brands? My cat always stopped eating a brand when the bag (small) was half gone. I ran out of different brands to offer him so I started offering different brands for each meal and it worked. He liked variety it seems. I did not notice a problem. Can you enlighten me?

    I don't understand number 1 about feeding cats the same food. Usually whenever I need to change my cats diet I do it slowly over the next seven days. I mix the new food with the old so that they won't have any stomach issues or loose stools. Plus if the vet tells you to keep your cat on a certain food for the rest of their life, does that mean the vet is wrong?

    • @amandatomaino1409
      @amandatomaino1409 2 года назад +2

      There are different nureriants in different types of food, all equally important. You need to get the food specific for kittens when they are kittens, a senior cat gets the food that is specific for seniors. I have a indoor only kitten with a GI illness. So I mixing the kitten and indoor formula and the kitten and stomach and digestive aid formula. When she becomes an adult she will just get the tummy and indoor formula foods. My vet didn't recommend this to me. It has helped my cat though as she has out lived what the vet told me she'd live. My vet is now telling other cat owners to do this. I also alternate brands and flavor. We alternate between the Friskies seafood blend, Purina poultry and Iams grill mix for the kitten and indoor formulas. The food for her stomach is Blue Buffalo or Science Diet.

    WE did have one cat that was very VERY keen on chicken curry, in point of fact OUR chicken curry. He was keen to save us from ourselves. Another cat went bonkers over cheese & onion crisps. Open a packet anywhere and he'd be right there wanting them.

    I jumped through the comments, and it looks like a lot of cat owners are very uneducated about their companion's diet.
    You should think twice or more before you gift something to your cat, it could have dramatic repercusions.

    A teaspoon or 2 of tuna every day makes a cats coat lush and healthy and shiny - tuna addiction? Lighten up catfood police!

    Oh no, I have to tell my cats to boil mice before eating them because it's unhealthy for them. 1 000 000 years of evolution were wrong.

    See my cat is very good at not eating anything on this list, because it's good for a cat to be picky.
    Also she's absolutely smart. And tho I never give her anything but her healthy foods and wet foods
