Not the Ramly fast food restaurant. It should be the street food stall burger stand that sells the Ramly burger and there are lots of stand that sells their own version with how it's cooked, how they season it and how the filling is layered. You have to do a redo 😊

When Malaysian talk about Ramly burger. We usually refer to the street burger stall. The Ramly restaurant is good, but the street version a whole new level. Tho its a hit or miss sometimes because every street vendor have their own recipe. They do still use the exact same ramly brand burger patty hence why they are called ramly burger.

I've seen some foreign RUclipsrs who went to a Ramly Burger near to Jalan Alor or Pavilion. Should be nearby. You can ask the people on the streets. I noticed that the Rambly burgers that you have do not have the sauce. It looks very dry. When you eat the Ramly burger from the streets, it will be very messy because the source will be overflow from the burgers. So, make sure you have tissues with you.

@@ChovyTravel because it is legit... for tourists/bougie people - that's the ramly co's own go at having its own fast food operations. but for decades from the 1980s, their rep is built on their burger patties they provide to the 'army' of street vendors who subsequently develop what we all know as ramly burger - the main diff is that the malay palate (for whom it was first developed for/by) is very gravy-forward, so it would be swimming in a combo of sauces plus an omelette wrapping the patties. so if people were to refer to the ramly burger, that late night 'snack' is what people think of. ETA: i figured you guys have an american preference for drier burgers, so if you're ordering the street one especially, be very specific and ask for "less sauce" or "kurang sauce")
(btw, in malay, there's no hard-C, so roti canai should be pronounced as roti chanai. Conversely, there's no soft-G, so genting highlands isn't jernting highlands the way anglophone singaporeans would say it.)

Famous Ramly burgers are from the street, and the recipes vary depending on the cook, some put bbq sauce and cabbage, another put maggi seasoning and lettuce, wostershire (idk how to spell), smoke thousand island, they have their own way of cooking the patty too. The only similarity is the patties, they are all supplied by Ramly, hence the name Ramly burger. Make sure to ask for less sauce, it’ll suit foreigners’ pallate more bcs usually the burgers were drowned in a hefty amount of sweet chilli sauce and it will ruin the experience. Malaysians on the other hand, love their Ramly burgers sweet.

Great video. But _roti canai_ is malay word pronounced char-nye where the c is like ch in english (change, chin, choc, cheese) and not pronounced car-nye, unlike the c's in cabbage, cart, colorado, etc because in malay we have the letter k to do that job eg _kaki_ (car-key) = foot/feet, _sakit_ (sar-kate) = pain/painful, and not to forget, kuala lumpur = KL
    Notes:
    - nye for _nai_ in _canai_ above rhymes with dye
