I've got similar problems so started stuttering like used to when I was young so went back to the dentist last week and the dentist did some x rays and the wisdom teeth luckily didn't grow and develop aruption as yet though , the tooth quack said I've got 7 cavities that need fillings and he knew automatically knew and said to stay away from cola as the acid did the hassles

I've been following along and you are doing so great Shelby! 5 years ago I had to have ALL my teeth removed due to a life threatening infection that was in my jaw. The entire process of removal, healing enough so that I could have implant screws embedded (2 separate surgeries, top and bottom, 4 months apart), and healing enough after that to actually wear my implants took 1.5 years in total. I have 8 screws embedded into my jaw which my dentures snap onto. I had to make the decision to have my surgery in about 10 days. I was on IV antibiotics 2x a day, and by the time the 12 hours was up and i was due back again my jaw would be swollen to double its size. I kept feeling like I needed to clear my head to think about it/decide to have my surgery, but I was so sick there wasn't any way to do that. The doctor told my mom that we could do other treatments besides mass excision, but it wouldn't guarantee the infection would be stopped because it was so rampant in my jaw under my teeth. Watching you talk and eat and stuff really takes me right back. I was so happy when I got to the tomato soup and grilled cheese phase it felt like I was finally having real food again, and I ate it just like you are! My other favorite was cauliflower mash....not riced but mash, so yummy! And In the thick of it I was so miserable. I actually was thinking about how I wish Id had an excuse to wear a mask all the time so people wouldn't know what was going on underneath it... >.< Probably one of the few silver linings to covid right? At any rate, I just want to say although we didn't go through the same thing but i experienced a lot of the same things and you've weathered it all with tremendous grace. Be proud of yourself. You are strong and beautiful! xxx

You looked beautiful (as you always do) in the new outfits. Nice to see how upbeat and happy you were even when talking about any swelling you still have, and not letting it get you down or worried. I can see much more improvement on the side you had the problems with the screws in regards to your cheek and bottom of the nostril. Honestly, if I didn't look for it it wasn't even very noticeable and your speech is sounding great, and which will only get better as you get more extension in your jaw movement and the Invisaline moves your teeth into the final position. Praying that your healing continues quickly and easily 🙏!

You make me smile when you talked about opening your mouth wide enough. I remember those exact words after my surgery. That ability was HUGE!!!! Congrats. You look great btw.

12:20 - you had some video time there where you looked totally pre surgery mouth and speech. I'd say you're like 95%, with the last being loosening up your left side smile and opening toward the corner of mouth. Looking great - must be a great relief to you to get all the way back.

I take a turmeric pill every day to help with swelling and it definitely works. Avocado also helps. Looking great Shelby. By end of day it seemed any signs of swelling were gone.

Great video and looking good. I’m glad that your positive attitude and willingness to patiently wait for your face to reduce worked out for you. A positive attitude and being patient is always the way to go. Trying to rush things can bring negative results. Take good care of yourself. Be brave enough to get out of your comfort zone and do it safely. Have some fun!!!!

Shelby, about turmeric, some of it can have lead in it, because the suppliers add it illegally to natural turmeric to make it look brighter in color. There's a Stanford University article about it (we can't tell which company is using actual natural turmeric vs the one that has lead in it), and lead, as you know, is very dangerous to the mind. Other than that, great vlog; you look truly gorgeous!!

Wish you a quick recovery Shelby! Place ice cubes within a small napkin on both cheeks and the swollen will go down. Trust me, I had a firsthand experience with a few swollen cheeks.

you can get turmeric supplement with black pepper in it already too! Also, Turmeric is a long term benefit as it fights inflammation. You wouldn't see immediate results, but hopefully in the next couple weeks! Hope you continue healing and feeling better!

I've been following your journey in preparation for my own jaw surgery on Dec. 17. Unfortunately, I just got the call that all Seattle hospitals are cancelling elective in-patient procedures due to Covid (again). I'm so annoyed and frustrated because I feel like I was finally mentally ready and now the anticipation and anxiety is hitting me again since I don't know when my surgery will happen. Anyways, thanks for your vlogs as they are helping to ease my mind a bit
That stinks they postponed you! I was scheduled for knee surgery in March, got it the end of May. Think of it this way, you'll be more prepared for it. I was super anxious for March, I was more at ease in May xoxo
@@rjdorsey1981That's a good point! Assuming there's not another lockdown in January, I'll be getting the surgery in the beginning of February. The only problem now is figuring out how I'm going to deal with grad school and work obligations since I won't have a long break to recover.

You look great! Hang in there! Your face will improve a lot 4-6 months out and even up to 2 years. The numbness and muscle memory make speaking and movement a challenge and that slowly improves giving the face a much more natural/relaxed look.
Still looking perfect and very energetic. You had this the whole time girlie.

the soup looks good , soup is so healthy to make you can put so many good things into it , soup is probably the oldest food recipe for eating , so many vitamin's and veggies you can use , fish , meat also ect , beef broth soup is used by many athletes for there bones and joints for repair and nourishment

Just a warning, if you start bruising really easily, stop the turmeric. In some people it acts as a blood thinner.
