The 4000 series is an almost identical jump in performance from the 3000 series as the 900 series was to the 1000 series. The 4090 is unironically the best NVidia generational showing they have possibly ever made. No CPU can feed it.

Completely different msrp prices during launch of these cards. 1080ti: $700, 2080Ti:$1200, 3090Ti:$2000, 4090:$1600. These are not same class cards. 1080Ti and 2080Ti were primarily designed for gaming. 3090Ti and 4090 are also catering other needs like ML/AI and several other productivity softwares.
@Cybernetic Argument Creator Trust me, I know. I upgraded from a 3080 10gb to a 4090 with my 5900X. A few recent games, my 4090 only gets to like 80% usage with my 5900X at native 4k. I've got a 5800X3D coming today that I got a deal on, and it's supposed to be a great pairing with the 4090 at 4k gaming.

I sold my AM4 setup for $350, bought the AM5 for $600 and the delta is less than a 5800X3D. Yours being a 5900X, you might even get $400-500 for your entire setup depending on specs. You're really not going to see as huge of a jump as you might might like considering you're dropping $300 on a 5800X3D.

4090 was an insane performance increase. The 4080 is okay and the 4070 is quite underwhelming. I'm sure the 4090 will age gracefully. It's just very expensive for most people.

It's the lowest price over 10gb vram card they ever released out performs the 3080 and uses almost no power which is insanely important for someone living in the UK. @slayerr4365 Most people's problem with the 4070 is it's comparable to the 3080, which in reality it should be comparable to the 3080ti/3090 in performance. And another problem is the 4070 in reality is a 4060 & they're selling it off as a 70 series card. Remember the 4080 12gb? Nvidia didn't cancel it. They just renamed it to the 4070ti due to public outrage. They literally tried to sell that card with the same name, even though the performance is not the same or close to the 4080 16gb.

below 60 fps average in every single game is good for you? 60 fps is the hard minimum you should be aiming for games and a card not getting that at only 1440p is not great. It's still a good card for 1080p gaming for people who refuse to upgrade in 7 years but it is not a high resolution card for sure that's just coping. Also not to use the last of us as a benchmark because the game was created by monkeys but the 4070 gets over 60 fps at 1440p in that game easily meanwhile the 1080 ti is rocking a smooth 30 fps. At that point you are comparing a 700 dollar msrp to a 580 dollar msrp to get half the fps. Regardless of nivida or amd sticking with a 1080 ti in 2023 is so dumb. The people "bragging" about still using their 1080 ti are just screaming they can't afford a new gpu lol.

20 series where trash in general. DLSS 1 was trash, RT performance was trash, pricing was trash. It got a little bit better with the super series but still bad. The only decent card was the 2060
I love my 1080Ti. 1440p locked at 60fps and I can pretty much max out the graphics for most games. Currently got it paired with a 13700K. Many years left in it for sure.
I'll recently bought used rtx 2080 ti for 350€ and I freaking love it, I also wish that NVlink/SLI was still supported I understand that it was hard to put that in the games to support multi gpu but if it was still supported we would not need to fuck around with our wallets and buy gpus for 2000
The 1080Ti will go down as the best graphics card of all time. For it being 7 years old and having a MSRP at 700$ at 1/3rd to 1/4 the performance the 4090 which is at least double the price is insane. I think the time of the 1080Ti is coming to an end as its only usable at 1080p in 2022 or more recent games no card will hold the value it did.
Mine does fine at 4k on plenty of games?! Some of the newer games need the settings dialled down a bit.. a friend sold his and got a 3090, he said he wasn't impressed and expected a much bigger jump in performance, that put me off upgrading for a bit yet, especially at the ridiculous prices.. 4090 at over 2 grand is lunacy! I can wait!
I'm optimistic the 4090 is the new 1080ti, had huge pressure from AMD for hype and pricing similar to the release of the 1080ti. I'm guessing well see marginal gain unless they continue to get pressured by AMD, and now Intel. Nvidia is actually pushing anti competitive behavior on it's OEMs with regard to contracts surrounding Intel entering the market.
If we let the Price out its incredible how much Power and efficient the 4090 cards are , compare to the 3090ti. Less power out and more fps its insane.... And the 1080ti still a realy good card in this days 😮.
To be fair, the 3090 Ti was a laughable joke on day one. It was essentially just the 3090 with the power cranked up, and that was pretty much it. 130% of the power required for ~10-12% FPS more. The 3090 in the same tests would be sub-300W.

The regular 3090 is definitely the upgrade from a 1080ti The 4090 is great and all but the power consumption in the future when it’s pushed to the max will be at an insane 450w! Look at how much cpu usage there is with all the cards! The 3090 already is a big increase from the 1080ti (350w from 250w) So all in all, the base 3090 will be a goat 🐐
NVIDIA 1080ti has just refused to die I mean in 2023 it is giving more than 50 FPS in modern AAA title games and upto 90+ FPS in some games best card NVIDIA ever made I would've loved their 4000 card series if they were value for money

Comparing three Ti versions to a non Ti version is a bit weird to me, plus the 4090 is held back by the cpu in FH5 and Hogwarts. Just max out the settings, a gpu comparison with a cpu bottleneck is kinda stupid.
There is no CPU in existence that doesn't bottleneck a 4090. And these are the highest-SKU cards from every generation, which is the point of the comparison.

The problem with the 4090 is that it’s gonna age like milk. It’s not pushed right now so it hovers around 300-330w but when it is, it’ll be 450w which will be terrible in the future… And I bet this is Nvidia’s plan 😂 Anyways, I think the future 5080 or 5080 super ti extreme ultra max will trash the 4090 at 350w maximum…

BDO is CPU-bound. You can get 120+ FPS in combat at 1440p with remastered/highest settings on a GTX 1070 if you have a 13700k/13900k/7800X3D. I'm personally running over 300FPS in open world on remastered with a 13700k and 3080Ti at 1080p and 250+ at 1440p. Seriously, if your goal is high frames in BDO and you have a card made in the last 6 years, upgrade your CPU first.

That performance jump from the 3090ti to the 4090 is insane.
The craziest part is that the 4090 is CPU bound in gaming with every CPU that exists right now. So it's even further ahead of the next-closest GPUs.

I'll recently bought used rtx 2080 ti for 350€ and I freaking love it, I also wish that NVlink/SLI was still supported I understand that it was hard to put that in the games to support multi gpu but if it was still supported we would not need to fuck around with our wallets and buy gpus for 2000

The 1080Ti will go down as the best graphics card of all time. For it being 7 years old and having a MSRP at 700$ at 1/3rd to 1/4 the performance the 4090 which is at least double the price is insane. I think the time of the 1080Ti is coming to an end as its only usable at 1080p in 2022 or more recent games no card will hold the value it did.
Mine does fine at 4k on plenty of games?! Some of the newer games need the settings dialled down a bit.. a friend sold his and got a 3090, he said he wasn't impressed and expected a much bigger jump in performance, that put me off upgrading for a bit yet, especially at the ridiculous prices.. 4090 at over 2 grand is lunacy! I can wait!

I'm optimistic the 4090 is the new 1080ti, had huge pressure from AMD for hype and pricing similar to the release of the 1080ti. I'm guessing well see marginal gain unless they continue to get pressured by AMD, and now Intel. Nvidia is actually pushing anti competitive behavior on it's OEMs with regard to contracts surrounding Intel entering the market.
The RTX 2080 Ti is becoming a great-value GPU in 2024, with its price dropping after the RTX 4000 Super cards were launched just a few weeks ago.

If we let the Price out its incredible how much Power and efficient the 4090 cards are , compare to the 3090ti. Less power out and more fps its insane....

To be fair, the 3090 Ti was a laughable joke on day one. It was essentially just the 3090 with the power cranked up, and that was pretty much it. 130% of the power required for ~10-12% FPS more. The 3090 in the same tests would be sub-300W.
4090 is actually really good value card for $1600. Everything else though doesn't deserve the price increase tax

I know that but the 90 and 90 Tis use a lot more power. So I think, we should need to know, what we can get with about 250 W Power usage. Actually the 4080 also uses more power. But it has more VRAM, so it is not that easy to compare.

Great video but that 2080 Ti seems to be held back? Mine is a 380w Vbios boosts to 2125mhz and doesn’t dip below 2050 which makes it a great card still today

NVIDIA 1080ti has just refused to die I mean in 2023 it is giving more than 50 FPS in modern AAA title games and upto 90+ FPS in some games

Comparing three Ti versions to a non Ti version is a bit weird to me, plus the 4090 is held back by the cpu in FH5 and Hogwarts. Just max out the settings, a gpu comparison with a cpu bottleneck is kinda stupid.
There is no CPU in existence that doesn't bottleneck a 4090. And these are the highest-SKU cards from every generation, which is the point of the comparison.

The problem with the 4090 is that it’s gonna age like milk.
It’s not pushed right now so it hovers around 300-330w but when it is, it’ll be 450w which will be terrible in the future…

Bad optimization and a CPU bottleneck. The 4090 is running between 70-80% usage rate.
3090ti would be getting wrecked by the 4090 if the 4090 wasn't being bottlenecked so hard.
TBF for rdr2 in 1440p that cpu does a lot of heavy lifting for 1080ti, also hogwarts legacy, theres no way I'm gonna get 50fps with all ultra with no upscale, lmao.

BDO is CPU-bound. You can get 120+ FPS in combat at 1440p with remastered/highest settings on a GTX 1070 if you have a 13700k/13900k/7800X3D. I'm personally running over 300FPS in open world on remastered with a 13700k and 3080Ti at 1080p and 250+ at 1440p. Seriously, if your goal is high frames in BDO and you have a card made in the last 6 years, upgrade your CPU first.
