      Because like every Zen generation, it's made for server workloads first, and this time it didn't yield any performance improvement for gaming workload unfortunately, but there was some improvement on some of the client workload such as JIT workloads (aka javascript apps like web browsing or even most of the apps nowadays) which saw a modest 15% uplift on average, so it should be ever so slightly snappier than Zen 4.

    Some people have noticed the power draw locked to 88W under any varying load, which questions whether the bios is allowing the proper power to the CPU? Might explain the poor launch performance considering AMD was planning on raising the TDP to 120W some months back.

    • @TSracer1
      @TSracer1 2 месяца назад

      AMD decided on a TTP of 88w. It is performing as it should. You can enable pbo, and it will use more power, but the performance increase in games is minimal, especially considering the increase in powerconsumption. (Based on data from reviews). This is most likely the reason amd decided to downgrade it to a 65w TDP product.

    I don't know, can someone explain to me how this works? Where do the differences in FPS come from, if the processor has a problem with something, it shouldn't run at 100%. In the recording, both processors run at 60% why?

    • @FWnatanzin
      @FWnatanzin 2 месяца назад

      because the bottleneck is in the video card which is always trying to render as much as possible per frame, unlike the CPU where it is only 100% if it has all cores doing a heavy process.

    • @FWnatanzin
      @FWnatanzin 2 месяца назад

      Games do not use the CPU to its maximum. If the video card had more performance, it would be able to make the CPU work harder for more quality or more frames, requiring more use of the CPU.

    TLDR. 14600K wins performance in 8/10 games. It`s basically a tie in 2/10 games.
    Longer summary including efficiency. Because efficiency/energy consumption is the selling point for the 9600X. (Low TDP/high efficiency)
    Witcher 3. 14600K is better at performance and efficiency
    Starfield. 14600K is better at performance, only consuming a bit more.
    CS2. 9600X technically wins in performance. But it uses more power, and who cares about what happens above 500fps anyway. 1% lows are slightly above 190fps on both. Effectively a tie IMO.
    Cyberpunk. 14600k is better at performance. Consuming a bit more.
    Forza Horizon 5. 14600K is technically on top when it comes to peak performance. But I would say it`s a tie considering all the FPS numbers. A tie when it comes to power consumption too. 14600 runs cooler.
    Ghost of Tsushima. 14600 wins at everything.
    PUBG. 14600 wins at performance. Marginally higher power consumption
    Flight sim. 14600 wins at performance and energy.
    Hogwarts Legacy. 14600 wins at everything.
    Horizon Forbidden west. 14600K wins at performance. Consuming a bit more.
    Lets hope the constant 88W on 9700X is a software error and that it is actually lower at times. I assume it is. If not it`s very embarrassing for the 9600X.
