Chris, I am so glad to see southern Vietnam prosper. It was so nice to see the mutual hospitality exchanged with your guides on the journey to those beautiful waterfalls. Your experience today helps temper my sadness and pain from 53 years ago when I served my country in Dak To, Kon Tum Province. You give me hope for the future of humanity,
Thanks so much for your service, and thanks so much for being open and wanting to reconnect with the country. Vietnamese people are super hospitable and hold no grudges for the past. Glad this could help you with that ☺️
The part they don't want you to see are the parts where agent orange wiped out all the foliage even to this day and the soil, water, and vegetation in the surrounding areas is contaminated from indirect exposure and their citizens are still getting insane levels of cancer and other health issues along with babies being born with rare genetic disorders that you only see with extreme radiation exposure.
I laughed so hard watching you bouncing on that bike. The whole bike ride was so incredible to watch. Everything from the road, to the scenery to the driver and especially, your reaction, was quite entertaining. Thanks for taking me along on one of your amazing adventures.

But I have real problems with the tones. If I remember, there are five tones, and in the three middle ones, I can’t tell any difference. And trying to wrap my tongue around some of the sounds in the pronunciation killed me. Fortunately, she came here to the U.S., so the emphasis was more for her to learn English than me to learn Vietnamese. But perhaps there are much better ones out there these days. This series is like a big band-aid on the US war against Vietnam. A humble, intelligent US person learning the language and showing the beauty of the country and the people the war tried to destroy. I'm Swedish and I'm so proud my country openly defended and even helped Vietnam in the war (if you didn't know, check it out). I didn't want to move the discussion here, but that's the emotion I felt watching this at this point. Vietnam is so beautiful and has such lovely people. Visiting Vietnam is on my bucket list. I'm Swedish, so the humility in their culture will be no problem. If I'm kind and show respect, I will have no problem with 95% of Vietnamese people. You just learn some very basic Vietnames and you're off. And the uneducated people who bark at foreigners have a worse bark than their bite. I don't care if they want to curse me, at all. That's their own problem to own.
carpetclimber4027 I'm a Vietnamese who now live in California. I disagree that you said your country Sweeden defended and helped Viet Cong (not Vietnam ok). You have to learn more history about the Vietnam war and then say something. We use to have two Vietnams, North Vietnam and South Vietnam. The north Vietnam followed the instruction from USSR and China to invaded South Vietnam. They killed alot of innocent poeples. The US just helped to to protect Vietnam ( and the whole south east Asia ) from the Communist. Very dissapointed that until now you still think the Vietcong is right. Do you know a million Vietnamese Escaped Vietnam by boat then we call boatpoeple? Do you know the Vietnamese communist put thousands of vietnamese millitary officer to jail after 1975? Let me give you an closed comparation between South Vietnam and South Korea. We had the similar situation after World war II. The South Koera is protected by the US and the South Vietnam is abandoned by the US and now you see the different from the South Korea and Vietnam??? And now , i want to ask you a question related to your country, just answer me honestly: why Sweeden joint NATO??? why you guys afraid of communists but help the communist kills their own poeple???

So sánh gì kỳ vậy biết ý nghĩa sao Khoa làm như vậy ko .
Travel safe, God bless 👍
I would love to hear how you avoided scams and how to avoid theft! I worry while vlogging or checking directions that my phone could get snatched
you can contact me. I will show you . take you on a trip
my old profiled got deleted and i lost a bunch of people I subscribed to (and then forget about them). But to stumble on you again and see how huge this channel become. Wow... Really happy for ya.
The real backwood travel of Vietnam 👍🏼
Really enjoy this video Chris; creative that makes you more popular. Cher.
Thanks so much!
@@chrismixlewis Khong co chi, tiep tuc nhung video moi nhe.
32:47 when you are so fluent in Vietnamese that you forget how to say it in english 🤣🤣
It happens haha
@@chrismixlewis i know right. Sometime I forget to say thing in Vietnamese too. 😂😂
@@chrismixlewis very up and down.....very “Dốc” haha, you’re super cute Chris 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I forgot the word steep completely 😂😂😂
@@chrismixlewis like that word don't have any meaning to you anymore or you think that that word isn't exactly translate to that word in another language
Nice in depth video man!

I took a night bus to Mu Cang Chai, it wasn't too bad. I slept on the bottom. Had to take a bike ride somewhere to get to where I was going. I really had no idea where I was going.
Get out in the here
Cảnh đẹp thật . cũng box công vất vả đường rừng khó đi mới tới nơi .
I live in Quang Binh, my family operates a transportation service business, what do you think about the trip from Quang Binh to Saigon by truck? I think there are many places for you to explore in Quang Binh
Enjoying video from Vietnam 🇻🇳! 😘🇻🇳😀 Mike from Missouri
What a fun experience! That's the only bike can take you to where you want to go 😃
Một clip trãi nghiệm "phượt" khá thú vị nơi rừng Gia Lai... Anh cảm ơn Cờ Rít nhé !
Awesome adventure Chris, thanks so much for sharing.

Dude, you make me wanna fly back now. Looks sooo fun. Wish you the best.

Really cool sleeping 🚌bus in vn 🇻🇳
We do not have in usa and canada 🇨🇦
From Québec to New York 6hours bus hope 1 day we have sleeping bus similar
I totally agree with you. I would be great to sleep between Trois-Rivières and New-York in a bus.
I wish our American Greyhound buses were like that.
Cool, I love Indonesia. Travelling on night bus in Indonesia, then a dip in the bottom of the falls. Indonesia looks wonderful. 👌
I think it's Vietnam
@@lamngocnguyen8762 Indonesia looks so good. The capital of Indonesia Bangkok is great. I'm happy they are travelling around Bangkok
Dude, I'm in Da Nang. I took the sleeper bus from Da Lat to Nha Trang! Crazy town! I'm still in Da Nang due to Covid. Very nice video...and your viet is very good...I'm trying to learn.
Appreciate it, best of luck with learning!
WTF? Recommended in my list.. You are absolutely insane to be doing this. Will definitely be exploring your other videos. 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
He speaks really well. I can't tell if he is a foreigner. Much of the pronunciation is on point!

Do you think of it real .:)) better have second thoughts tho lucky bud
The driver who wanted you to go get coffee and banh cuon get a commission from the vendor for making stops. That's why they are so insistent you stop to get something.
Well if Christ and Quốc refused, the driver would just take them to the bike point without breakfast. Sure they can buy some thing from the local vendor but it would be not as safe/good to eat as the one they had set up for you to eat.
No he was just being super nice. No commision I assure you. We added each other on Facebook and chatted a lot. I see where you’re coming from but this man was being nice.
You definitely need a Clark companion, Mr. Louis. The bikes are old, but still cranking. It must be a Japanese Honda. Great video !
Thanks Mr Carpet Climber.
carpetclimber4027 I'm a Vietnamese who now live in California.
Hi, i’m living HCM city but Gia Lai is my hometown. You should come to Pleiku city and discover some place Bien Ho, Bien Ho tea, Chư Đăng Ya and local food in night market, must try “phở hai tô” and “Bún thịt Nướng”.
Chris trải nghiệm quá tuyệt !bái phục .🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
It's like watching a persons first day on Earth, and the only gift they were given is the ability to speak Vietnamese. Thanks for posting, it was fun.
