who were fitting them boilers? you guessed it centricas sub division called british gas and its not 20 years. centrica took gas safe...............used to be corgi right. when you phone ideal back in the days and explained and tested certail parts they would tell you its a wet area. ask for tests none given. test by subsitution. how is that not big companies not trying to bully people out. not quite sure anything changed. edit i never came across an isar that wasnt fitted by british gas. ever. wires going to the condensate trap that rotted.and inside...... come across a few bosch boilers too, were they designed in colaboration with british gas? aka centrica? they are different to normal ones. cdi etc
Great video ,good to remember how good the logic was back in the day not keen on the composite water set but has kept me busy for many years with the services and repairs. 👍👍
Apart from the early heat exchangers leaking the ones I've installed have been very reliable. They are really easy to service also. I've not fitted any for a while. I usually fit Baxi 800 combi's for the 10 year warranty. I've been happy with them. Just a few diverter valves have leaked but mainly very reliable.
Logic 2 Gas Valve new location at the bottom of the boiler makes it vulnerable to short circuit if any water should sit at the bottom because of leaks from trap flue faulty o ring etc. How did they solve the problem with the plastic sump and flue?. Great video Derek thanks👍
im coatal area is it something to do with freezing temps overnight in a lower temp area? same could be said of bosch left block and right block? pinholes in the plastic aka composate? i truly belive its a problem in where these things are made. composite tom cat its plastic right not been made properly?
I dont understand why ideal boiler are noisy? Why they bang when flame is on and some time creat echo while running. Thats why am not fan of Ideal boilers.
i think they are good boilers. there are problems, where do they get the plastic parts made? who designes the pcbs? that end seems strong. again weak parts. sinemens do bosch. LOL
Ideal the last 20 years have to be thanked for keeping gas engineers busy for their inventions of Icos, Isar & Logic. Thank you Ideal

Be interesting to explain the buget version of this boiler , ie atlantic /instinct
@@accesszero4803 they are the same inside just different in the software and warranty
You have to take the heat exchanger out to replace sump on the instinct like the esprit I believe
Can’t complain they breakdown often but easy and cheap to repair, if everything was reliable we’d have no work.
Used to fit loads, no more due to sumps leaking. But on a plus, piece of piss to service and work on.
