    What on earth is a Leica. Just sharper edges? and over contrast? lol. wow. The price for a Zhongyi is a bargain. I may have to check one out. Thanks for the great review! I never knew Zhongyi was that close with post processing. I guess I can get close to a Leica without paying $13,000 lol. I couldn't barely see much of a benefit for indoor studio work. I also crop so the edge sharpness is ehh not a big deal.

    The Mitakon's sky is not more saturated, but darker, because the light transmission of the lens is lower.

    Nice comparison. In most examples I saw characteristics in both lenses/images I liked. Yes, overall, the Leica "wins" but in some instances I liked the Mitakon more or equally and shooting mainly B&W I thinks it's "flaws" may be an asset. Luckily, I only have a Mitakon budget LOL

      Even the tax after buying the Lecia can buy you the Mitakon . lol.

    That's a tiny price difference for two lenses that aren't that far apart from eachother!!

      lol... I was expecting a huge huge difference but gosh, not a big jump. Its oddly strange about the price marketing on these luxury lens.

      @@theCameraVille you're right in that they should price that lens higher up, there's only so far the leica name can take you, and £15k is way past the mark when compared to this, I would expect absolute perfection at that price in all F stops.
      Great review👍
      Have you got your two Pentax K3iii yet😲😁

      @@ianmilne655 Yup, I was hoping maybe the magic of Leica just spills out of the test. It was... ehh.,... sharp edges and high contrast.. ehh. Also, $13,000 is a lot of money lol. When I read the price tag, I was like @_@...
      As for the Pentax, currently my filming has slowed down. I been posting on my instagram on the issue. My Canon R6 is shutting down during indoor recording which really is sad. I will be switching back soon to Lumix but, because of the back up, the Pentax reviews was suppose to be mid July, now it may be late July/ early August. It is still coming I promise. Currently my area, we are encountering a historic heat wave so I lost another week again. Its just nutz~!
      When I told my self a few month ago, I will wait for 10 weeks for the K3 MKIII. Since then, 2 firmware update and also the Lightroom update.
      The heat wave now is my enemy. Also I look exhausted trying to film in 95F lol..

    • @ianmilne655
      @ianmilne655 3 года назад

      @@theCameraVille that heat doesn't sound good!
      For the amount of money those Canon R6 and the R5 cost you'd expect more, and you'd think Canon would have thoroughly tested them in conditions like that before launching the system.
      Keep up the good work Li, shall await the next instalment👍

    Currently the fastest lens I have is the Fujinon 56mm f/1.2. I couldn't believe how much better the low light performance was on that lens! Stellar. But, now you've whetted my appetite to go even further!

    Mitakon is my favorite brand. I really hope they make more lenses for L mount. The 17 and 25 for m43 were my absolute favorites

    13k is a ridiculous price for a lens of this type, no matter how good...if you are not in business of building a space observatory, doing microphotography or forensics etc., that require by their nature a very specialized and precise equipment, there is no point in having some insanely precise lens

    • @theCameraVille

      I agree. 13k is like way way over priced

    These have been my guide to buy my camera lenses. Specific question. Between Mitakon 50mm F0.95 and TTartisan 50mm f0.95 ,which one do you prefer for astrophotography and landscape photography? Which achieves better results? Thanks.

    • @theCameraVille
      @theCameraVille  3 года назад +1

      Hey Jerry~! I will be honest, I have never touched a TTartisan. Since the Leica is consider the staple of the 50mm 0.95, and seeing how close Mitakon came very close, I would say Mitakon.
      I have tried several Zhongyi products since the days of their speedbooster in 2013? That was a long time and their quality so far seem to be very top notch for the price.

    If you buy such type of lens you buy it for nights, where no mater colors and resolution. Therefore use cheap one. Cheers.

    Do you compare the z mount zhongyi vs m mount. I want to know which one is better, coz if I use z mount lens, I cant use megadap right? But I can autofocus with megadap m mount.

      I own the EF version of the Mitakon v3 on a 5D Mk2 and it does indeed flare quite a bit, kinda like a retro lens. I also own a Leica M240 and a Noctilux 50mm f.1, and there isn‘t that much difference in lens characteristics
