i have 50mm f/1.4 Summilux + M10-P *White* Limited Edition (Kit/Set), so i don't need this lens. The 2nd lens i would like to acquire is 28mm f/2 Summicron or f/1.4 Summilux
I bought the original MkI for the Sony body and have been waiting for ZhongYi to come out with this M mount so I can adapt it to other cameras, can't complaint for the price and for the effect it gives. Great review by the way, thank you.
I don't know why commenters are commenting 50mm f0.95 vs slower lenses. Its like apple and oranges for different purposes. I would be interested to know your thoughts against the 50mm f0.95 tt artisan, 50mm 7artisan f1.1 and canon 50mm f0.95 ltm. All 3 (except the canon) are relatively cheap, fast, speciality lenses. How do they compare? I'm a fan of vintage style swirly bokeh as it fits into my workflow, and i actually wish that the ttartisan is SOFTER, but i can deal with that in post. The rendition, seems similar to the $2k canon 50mm f0.95 ltm. Can you compare the color rendition against (any) voigtlander? Voigtlanders are notoriously warm.
Thank you very much Richard, My Nikon 70-200mm f2.8 vr1 autofocus broke down and now you give me the solution the Magadap !! I can also use it for my Irix 11mm f4, Irix 15mm f2.4, Samyang 85mm f1.5, Samyang 12mm f2.8 fisheye, and my old Nikon 50mm f1.2 non-autofocus lenses for my Z6 and Z7. All f-mount. You make me very happy. But this Speedmaster will certainly be in my camera bag this year! The Megadap is not available in the Netherlands, but Amazon and Alie express are available, but without the extra adapter for Leica to f-mount, let's see if that Megadap can also ship to the Netherlands.
No probs! but one thing you need to know is, while the Megadap adaptor would work, it is NOT going to give you autofocus performance like a normal autofocus lens. Think of it more like a semi-auto performance to avoid disappointment
@@TheRealRichardWong, I don't expect any miracles with my 70-200mm f2.8 lens, just wonder if it will work! We both know that you need fast autofocus with such a lens. I'm just waiting for the repairer to say if my lens can be made due to human age and the few parts available. I am also now looking into whether I can lease a 70-200mm f2.8 Z-mount lens. I only want to use the Megadap adapter for my 5 prime lenses, finally autofocus on my wide-angle lenses! And yes I know that in the distant future I will switch to the Nikon 14-24mm f2.8 Z-mount or just maybe the Laowa 12mm f2.8. I could have tried the latter last year, what a wonderful lens it is
Nice review Richard, this Mitakon lens looks sweet, thank you also for adapting it to Nikon Z with adapter! Image quality does not look sharper than Zhongyi Mitakon 50mm f/0.95 MK3, but still nice to see some improvements from manufacturer. :) 👍
Hi Richard, thanks for the review. I recently purchased and then sold off within a month the Voigtlander 35mm f1.2 vIII which has much better flare control than this Mitakon lens you reviewed. In my personal view, this lens you reviewed has too much flare and low contrast for me. Perhaps in a dimly lit bar it might be a great lens for low light shots.
Thank you for the review...very entertaining and informative. I'm going to be researching this lens...I hope there will be some direct comparison videos between this and the TTArtisan version of the 0.95. I have a Leica M10M and while it naturally is a low light monster, I'd like to get one of these 0.95 lenses and be able to pretty much "see in the dark" with that combo. Interesting times we live in...sure this isn't quite up there with the Nikon or Leica versions of the 0.95 lens, BUT at only $799....close enough works and allows you to have fun most people otherwise would never be able to enjoy.
Up for this comment. I've been waiting for a direct comparison between this and the Ttartisan 50mm 0.95. Also am hoping you can compare both megadap mtz11 and techart af adapters too. Hope for these videos soon. Love your vids. More power.
Who's interested in this 50mm f/0.95? For your Leica M? or other cameras?

I bought this lens and happily using it on my Leica m262.
Mitakon 50mm f0.95 vs Laowa Argus 45mm f0.95 vs Meike 50mm F1.2 vs 7artisan 50mm f0.95...???
Hi, do you have the full res photo? I want to check the sharpness of the m mount for comparing the e mount, thanks

It is quite interesting that this cirlce flare is very similar in the range of Mitakon lenses, namely 17/0.95, 25/0.95 and reviewed 50mm/0.95.
Signature Mitakon Flare ;)

Hi there! Thanks for watching and yes if you don't like flare/low contrast look, this lens is not for you.
hey :) how is it compared to the TTArtisan 50 f/0.95?
hi there, sorry i havent got a TTArtisan to do a direct comparison

Splendid review Richard / Ulf
Thank you very much Ulf! :)
Did you try it with the M10 R , with much more pixels ? Thanks for the video
Unfortunately not. Haven't got a chance to try out the m10 r
@@TheRealRichardWong but do you think much more pixels could be an issue ?
If you want every pixel perfect (especially at or near maximum aperture) then yes
You base in New Zealand??
Yes correct!
In short a 0.95 lens with only just acceptable bokeh rendering from f1.4 and acceptable overall image quality across the frame from f2.8.
will there be an update to the 25mm for mft?
Don't know. But Laowa is bringing out a 25 0.95 for m43 this year and I will be reviewing that
@@TheRealRichardWong 😳 cannot wait! i adore their 17mm f/1.8
Why would you buy heavy 0.95 lens to stop down to f2... I would never buy this lens, I am happy with lux 50 apsh, completely usable on f1.4.
