We just wrapped up another 2-Day Defensive Pistol Course along with 5 other training courses this past weekend in Pennsylvania at Ben Franklin Range.
In this course @david.acosta.jr and his students spent the weekend developing what right looks like when learning to use a pistol in defense of human life.
@david.acosta.jr covers this curriculum from a principles-based approach and introduced concepts that are based on logic and reason in consideration of supporting said principles. The right to defend yourself and others from wicked violence is a God-given and therefore inalienable right. It is also a massive responsibility that we should never take lightly.

I was taught a significantly different method of the single hand draw. Not relying on the hemline as your grab point, indexing your hand on the rear sight/belly button, semi circle the shirt and pin with your forearm. This guarantees the shirt cannot beat you to the master grip. Would be interested to hear David's thoughts vs the race the shirt method

I don't carry appendix but I learned to clear the garment on the draw from concealed at the four o'clock with one hand for these same considerations! I really hope I get the opportunity to take a baseline class

Every American man and woman (yes only two genders) needs to learn the skills and posses the tools required to protect themselves, their families and hopefully if they posses humility and willingness, to protect others that may not have the physical of mental ability to protect themselves.
