Thank you... I think I started falling into a shopping addiction. It started with social media and the fast fashion trends, it made me always take screenshot, then I wanted to always buy those items. So I have started to solve this issue cause I started having anxiety when I couldn't get something soon, like you said a child wanting candy, it was bad. I couldn't go month without buying something. Now I have given a lot of clothes away, and I have started developing my own personal style, what I am struggling with is the fomo but there is progress, I have shopped less in the last month. I would like to try other hobbies in the place of social media fashion.
I have loved following your channel for some time and enjoy developing a curated wardrobe. Also, most recently, you have sparked the inspiration for me to continue the journey of getting my channel monetized✨, my dream since I was in middle school. Thank you so much for being a role model and inspiration 🤗
Such good ideas for cutting back on clothes shopping. I have worked this year to create a fairly robust collection of clothing that I really love for my current life, but recently found myself buying too many extras. The most helpful step in preventing this for me is to unsubscribe from fashion e mail and staying out of websites for brands I know I love.
Great video Val!! I’m loving your channel and watching it grow! Such great tips and thank you for talking about fast fashion! I wish more people would shed insight on it. Can’t wait for the next video! ❤
Thanks Val for another great video, on your suggestion I have a Wardrobe/Clothes Journal and I knew this would be one of your videos where I would need to take notes on the video so I did, I'm definitely considering a low buy/no buy year next year, I'm focusing my purchases on what I need for work and what my family need, enough but not too much as my Mum would say
This is more challenging with time goes on because now it’s not just Black Friday but pretty much an entire November of sales going on earlier and earlier
@@ValKovalchuk you know what I am realizing is also hard is letting go of a piece that has just such beautiful craftsmanship and construction even if it difficult to style. For example there is a lace blouse on my mind right now. It’s so lovely but how often would I really wear it? 🧐 sometimes I guess we have to just appreciate them in their own right and let them go to a better home
It was good to see the film about fast fashion, good to remind ourselves about the situation. Some uk stores shout about their use of recycled materials or organic cotton, but still have their garments made in China and Bangladesh. Shame.
Yeah it’s kind of impossible to find a perfectly sustainable brand, but if we can all just make the best choices that we are able to it will still make a difference! 🥰
Hey! Love all your videos. They’re really helpful! I also live in PNW US and I also own the Madewell leather tote. But as you know it rains so much here in Portland. I wanted to ask how do you take care of your Madewell Tote? I feel I have a pretty minimal wardrobe but I am still unable to use half of it due to rain. Thanks!
Leather bags as well as leather shoes like Nisolo Mules! Every dry day we have I’m wearing them so I can get use out of them. So comfortable and stylish but difficult to wear in the panhandle Northwest! I’m thinking of taking mine to a cobbler to have rubber sole guards installed and spraying them each season with a leather protector so I can wear them more
I try not to wear it when it rains 😬 and go for one one my black bags instead.. so yeah it does limit the amount that I wear it. But in the summer I grab it a lot! 😊

I usually do a week waiting period. I actually started in high school. It depends on what it is lol also with little kids it's hard to go back and check
Hi Sarah! I usually look for natural fibers first, those can be found even in fast fashion stores. Cotton, linen and wool are a personal favorite of mine 🥰

I love that saying Andrea! 😅 Will be trying to do that for my family this Christmas as well. ✨
Thank you. You shared a very interesting and eye opening concept of how - to Not to shop 😊 Wait and see if you really need it! It's information great!
Inspiring as always, Val. Thanks so much for this list! Also, I loved every time you plopped into frame, lol! Fantastic!

Great video! What are durable materials and what are not? Do you have a list of materials I should look for? Thanks
Wool, silk, linen, cotton are durable and biodegradable (also look into natural dyes if you wanna go even further)

Idk why I love watching these types of videos, I already, only shop about twice per year 😂
Wow that's great self control on your part! Love it! 🥰
I have tried the waiting period but it does not work for me.
