Ren has a very limited diet because of his illness,and he isn't allowed to eat the food that he had at start of video. Hence the fact of the frustrated noise he made when he threw it down. That type of food would cause a lot of inflammation in his body so as much as he would want to eat it ,he cant. Love all your reactions. 🙂

Rens Diet is very restricted, mainly just organic grass fed red meat and a few select vegetables, the condiments you put on Fish and Chips are Salt and Malt Vinegar, Mushy Peas is the Green side which is just over cooked processed marrow fat peas

Also, like said above, a lot of the deep fried fatty foods do things like exacerbate inflammations and make him feel so much worse. So the gesture of throwing that food back in the plate seems to me at least like a Rraaah! cry of frustration to not be able to eat the food you like so much. It's pretty powerful imo

Bingo! "Music is his therapy." In "Hi Ren" he said, "it gives me a purpose I can rest in." It's wonderful to know that, now that his health is so much better, it's less about his mental survival & more about his obvious joy in creating.
Oh it's not just pictures, Ren vlogged at his worst and there's several videos you can find of him just completely lost, talking to the camera, sometimes crying because he's so frustrated and scared of never finding what's wrong with him. But the man is the definition of hope, because that's the one thing he hung onto during it all. It's hard to get through some of those old videos and they aren't even his very worst. He only showed what he was able to show, there were worse times when he couldn't even bring himself to wake up and open his eyes, let along think about making a progress video.

Yes, I think he's talking about his mental health, but I think it's also his physical health. Autoimmune diseases literally eat away at your organs (maybe his brain or bones?). It's my understanding that he does treatments to grow new brain pathways to counteract the degradation from the disease. I'd wish for a lobotomy too. And all sorts of other body things. He can only eat a handful of different foods that won’t create allergies -- so I highly doubt he's allowed to eat the mushy peas (gross), or the salt & vinegar on his fish/chips (awesome). I also like the play on pupils dilating in the dark - die late - how mammals' eyes permanently dilate when they die (which ties into the following verse about body bags) - people say the dead are in the dark (the light went out, etc.). 3:56 I have been informed by locals that this specific fish and chips place serves awful food. Keeping in mind that our Sick Boi has to stick to a strict diet, there was no way he was going to eat that fish, chips (fries), mushy peas, salt and malt vinegar.
Comically many guys get hung up on him not eating, but he can’t eat fried food he would be sick.for a week. He is on a strict paleo diet. That’s why he’s built the way he is all muscle no fat. Even though he has said many times he’d love to eat regular

I've watched lots of reactions to Genesis, and it's remarkable how many men reactors stop and comment criticize over him not eating the food. It's always the men. Why is this, I'm curious. As you no doubt know by now, he can't eat that food. His frustration is real. IMO he's addressing both his physical and mental issues in this song. Lyme-induced neural pain affects the entire body, including the brain. Plus the psych meds he was given when misdiagnosed for so long had horrible side effects. Noah was late for the ark, the medicos didn't catch his disease in time.

Keeping in mind that our Sick Boi has to stick to a strict diet, there was no way he was going to eat that fish, chips (fries), mushy peas, salt and malt vinegar.

Comically many guys get hung up on him not eating, but he can’t eat fried food he would be sick.for a week. He is on a strict paleo diet. That’s why he’s built the way he is all muscle no fat. Even though he has said many times he’d love to eat regular

I've watched lots of reactions to Genesis, and it's remarkable how many men reactors stop and comment criticize over him not eating the food. It's always the men. Why is this, I'm curious. As you no doubt know by now, he can't eat that food. His frustration is real. IMO he's addressing both his physical and mental issues in this song. Lyme-induced neural pain affects the entire body, including the brain. Plus the psych meds he was given when misdiagnosed for so long had horrible side effects. Noah was late for the ark, the medicos didn't catch his disease in time.
