Ren was misdiagnosed years ago , he was bed ridden with 23hrs in bed. He was sycotic with alot of mental illness, he also had alot of general illness. 7 years after it started he was told he had been bitten by a Tick and had Lyme Disease, Ren is in Canada for special treatment possibly including operations. I'm sure we all wish him well and that the Canadian treatment helps.

I think in the last few lines of the opening "I'm put on life support, I've been put up on a higher shelf" he's talking about the people around him. A very common theme for mental health is those around you compensating for you, hence the life support, and setting high expectations for you, hence the higher shelf. I think it's supposed to be a commentary on how those things can be detrimental. Falling short of those expectations, or learning to rely on that life support too much can be just as bad as the mental health in the first place. The whole song is amazing but those two lines always hit home for me.
