I don't know about the rest of you, but I love that the weapons are a hodgepodge of real life parts and use weird feed systems; it makes the game feel more dieselpunk. That, and a lot of the Helghast designs feel almost like something out of Star Wars. It's neat!
yeah this is back when developers were genuinely creative. none of these guns are real, but they feel real and fit their universe extremely well. I particularly love seeing the licensing engravings on them. Nowadays if they made a sci fi fps game it would be generic reskins of real guns or just lazily made blob guns with no character at all.
Jonathan Ferguson, the Keeper of Arms and Artillery at the Royal Armouries Museum in the UK, which houses a collection of thousands of iconic weapons throughout history should react to this game
This game and Killzone 2 arguably had some of the best (and my personal favorite) gun sounds from the 2010s especially for the automatic weapons. You get even half a dozen guys firing at once in the campaign missions, its literally deafening!
Fun fact: StA-3 and M224 were switched in capability and other details from KZ2 to KZ3. In KZ2 StA-3's RoF was so high to made impossible to single shot with it, it was always a short 2-round burst (thanks to the clear inspiration on the MG42) and the drum had much more rounds. This was changed in KZ3 with the M224 mag, plus a RoF reduction, while the M224 received the "extended" belt used before on the StA-3. I bet this changes were leaded by the fact that StA-3 couldn't be aim down sight and the RoF produced a large spread, i never saw many players using it in my KZ2 online experience, many relied on the M224 even a "long" ranges. Oh the memories on both games, sadly Killzone is gone forever since Guerrilla has no further plans for it and it was killed in a shameful way with Shadow Fall.
When I saw the VHS-2, I was surprised at how much it looked like the StA-52, but when killzone2 was released, the current model VHS-2 had not yet been announced.
Fun fact about the M66-SD machine pistol, the sight on top is unidentifiable but the mount and protective shroud is a discontinued LaRue LT627 and has an integrated fold down rear sight. I got one in a trade and am hoping to make use of it but it’s a Burris Fastfire footprint and doesn’t really accommodate modern pistol red dots all to well since you can’t reach the buttons on any fastfire footprint red dots as the protective shroud blocks em.
Looks more like it's being jostled by the recoil and gas, which does happen on cheap AR builds very often. It's also a completely fictional game not set in any version of reality lol
M224-A1, my beloved! I was an Engineer and Medic main, and this thing could easily get long range kills if you burst-fired because of it's high damage, plus it's slower rate of fire combined with a magazine the size of Kanye's ego meant reloading wasn't something to worry about often. Plus, I just love how heavy and hard-hitting it sounds.
It’s not that surprising when you look at sales, the first game sold 2 million units. Whereas Horizon 1 sold 24 million units. Same goes for Resistance compared to both Rachet and Clank and Spider-Man. The studios moved on to more successful titles.
I still can't get over the fact that the designers of the StA-18 pistol thought an underslung helical magazine that holds an equivalent quantity of rounds as a standard double-stack pistol-grip loaded magazine was a great idea. Seems like a virtual implementation of good old German overengineering.
7:29 yeah, that machine gun is very interesting , like how can that machine gun have a drum that can hold a good amount of ammo and how would it work in real life ?
Both Microsoft and Sony should re-release every obsolete exclusive game on all platforms. Except for those that were multiplayer only and have their servers shut down.
It was said by the devs, at the time KZ2 "beta" was showed, that they wanted to have real life weaponry but in a futuristic tone. Yet even with those intentions, they made more than one mistake while modeling them. Like M82's EoTech, it was mounted reversed in the early game's stages, then switched in the correct position (devs were unaware how it was mounted IRL), also the weapons were in-line with the original game with secondary functions, the same M82 retained the "M203" GL and the StA-52 the "Masterkey" shotgun, but it was all dumped while finishing the game. Wasted chance since it was a great touch on the first game, nothing spectacular or such yet weaponry functionalities were not common at that time in games.
To be honest. It is annoyed that call of duty was the reason to make killzone stop been made new games ever again, only because of call of duty, even though i wish this could keep going. Sadly it is forgotten by the half of population of people who played this
How I'd love a more modern version of this gun Audio is fantastic Animations are solid but the first game had much better I remember how awful Spread was in this game. Jeez!
Weird things: Disposing a revolvers entire cylinder instead of just using a speed loader is wasteful. The Bizon/toggle-lock is an abomination that should be banned from existence. The future SPAS doesn’t press its carrier latch or use the extra shells on it. The AR-15 SMG has two hand guards, no magazine release, and a reciprocating charging handle. The bullpup M4 is the same as its SMG counterpart, but no reciprocating handle. The FAMAS thing is… belt-fed??? The calico/M14 thing is dumb. The calico sniper rifle is even dumber. The future SAW’s belt magically disappears during a non-empty reload. The future MG-42/MG3 is the dumbest thing in this game. And fires too slow. The VC9 just re-screws its munition instead of replacing it. If the metal storm minigun wasn’t explosive it would be an interesting future weapon. The Boltgun’s belt-box? (Belt-cylinder?) is, somehow, completely full after ~4 bolts exit the box/cylinder. The proper minigun fires too slow. The flamethrower uses the barrel shroud of an MG-42 for some reason.
Helghast armorers just _love_ their helical-fed mags. I'd also love to know what kind of black magic they're manufacturing their rifles with if they can have them automatically chamber a new round during a dry reload. Oddly enough, their subguns and LMGs don't seem to have this same mechanism. :/
Weapons were rebalanced after KZ2, StA-3 (MG42) is one of the easiest to recognize by it. RoF and mag were scaled down from KZ2 counterpart, as i said in my comment to the vid. The guns were not made to be functional IRL, devs said it during KZ2 "beta" stages, yet they took real guns and fused some of them together to give out KZ arsenal. Check how it was in Killzone 1, you will be surprised how much they changed weaponry to semi plausible real weapons🤣

Helgan weapons are based on NK weapons
Helghast guns are based on a mix of nazi German and soviet designs combined with belt fed, and helical magazine fed style systems
Jonathan Ferguson, the Keeper of Arms and Artillery at the Royal Armouries Museum in the UK, which houses a collection of thousands of iconic weapons throughout history should react to this game
Yes indeed he should
Lmao
Thank you for using his full official title 🙏
He'd get so fussy and mad over certain ammo types being used in the future....god It'd be so fun to watch him squirm over it.
This needs to happen

In the grim darkness of the far future, there is still eotech 552.
Makes me wanna play the killzone games again.

If only Sony had a single shooter franchise to compete with Call of Duty or Halo.
They tried with both Killzone and Resistance. Both of which didn't come close to Halo or CoD.
Honestly, Halo at its worst is still better than Killzone at its best
@@brawler5760killzone 3 was pretty good
Facts
I really wish they'd bring back Killzone, but I think Guerilla is gonna be on Horizon for the forseeable future
Yes! Finally! A video that has the fast reload animations!
the memories flowing in again
This to this day is still one of my all time favorite multiplayer games. Loved the unique game modes and balancing
Huh, never realized Stahl’s Arc Troopers can take a couple hits from the Arc cannon.
I will give Killzone this: the firing sounds are EXCELLENT for the most part.
Better than fallout 4 that’s for sure
They're some of my favorite.
Yeah the only ones I didn't like were the suppressed weapons, they still sounded a little cartoony
0:55 "what are you shooting at mate?"

I would play all three as ported or remastered games on the ps5 hands down. My all time favourite shooter series.
Great game. Great visuals. Amazing audio. Some of the limpest reloads I’ve ever seen or heard
Killzone and Resistance were some of the best shooters of their day. I’m really surprised they’ve seemingly become abandoned IPs.

Even I don’t own ps game this game deserves second chances killzone was underrated
I wish they would have brought the secondary fire function from the original killzone.
1:18 Looks like the HK69 pistol-sized grenade launcher(or grenade pistol, as the Germans called them).
That wasp launcher looks like something out of dune
킬존 3에 나오는 무기는 킬존 2와 중복이 되지만 일부 신규 무기인 페트루 사이트 무기는 신규 무기라서 살짝 기존 무기 와 중복이 됩니다.

Killzone always had great multiplayer. Even the 1st killzone
7:29 yeah, that machine gun is very interesting , like how can that machine gun have a drum that can hold a good amount of ammo and how would it work in real life ?
It wouldn't.
We need a new Killzone 🤔
Can you do all killzone shadowfall weapons
*_Espero algún día saquen la Campaña remasterisada como han hecho otras Franquicias_*
Gaming peaked right here
so the LS 57 is basically just an AR but somehow doesn't have the bolt hold open feature
aktually, the M4 Revolver is the Mk.27 Ballyhoo
Killzone that’s a surprise.
Ever thought about doing Shadow Warrior? Or Wolfenstein? F.E.A.R? Dead Space?
I miss Killzone. I hope the new Dune movies inspire Guerrilla to give their pasty bald mutants another shot, the Helghast are fantastic!
I love killzone❤️
Please come back!!!!!!!!!!!
wish these games would be ported to pc
Oh well, at least we got Modern Warfare 3
Imagine being in a big gunfight in the campaign with headphones on. You'd need to turn the volume down when you even get 6 guys shooting at you!
@@mattc7420Killzone 2 and 3 campaigns are the best. Also fully offline botzone for endless replay value in all Killzone games.

We probably will never have this franchise on PC 😢😢😢
I would a shot at this series goven the remaster love and in VR
God I love the guns in this game

How in the disaffected fuck did you get this game to run at 60fps?!
Tf is up wit da m249 uzi pp19 bizon looking ass gun? (sta 11)
The M82 AR is cursed as hell… but being that the gun its based on (Russian LR-300) is a bufferless AR variant… its not technically impossible…
I personally like it

The Sta-3 was by far the ugliest gun in the series.
