Well, north of Harper’s Ferry and south of Hanover. I still have New Hampshire and Maine to do. 😂

Enjoyed your video. I live about a mile from On the Edge Farm in Barnard so recognized alot. I've never seen Thundering Brook Falls so spectacular! The call you heard at Happy Hill Shelter was a Barred Owl. He was doing the "Who Cooks for You call. They can make a real scream which can be quite scary. I'm sorry I didn't know you were doing this section or we would have tried to do something for you. Take care.

An owl! I was thinking it might be an owl, but it definitely started with a scary screech before I turned the camera on. I always enjoy meeting people from the local area. Too bad we missed each other.

Woo Hoo Vermont done!!! Feels so good to reach that bridge it’s such an iconic spot. Glad you were able to conquer your fears at the lookout. That certainly was an interesting privy. I missed that one when hiking thru there.
So what’s the next planned section??

Loved the Lookout. Glad I was able to accomplish that.
My brain hasn’t gotten past my next trip for THIS year (which is out west on the PCT in Washington as you know). And it looks like I’ll be doing plan B because of the wildfire closures affecting plan A.
As far as the AT next year, I’m not sure but I think I’m eyeing New Hampshire, at least part of it. 😁

Congratulations on overcoming your fear of heights to see the overlook. It looked to be worth the trouble. Ticks are no fun. And a fall at the end is bad enough, at least it wasn't when you were just starting.

Yes, I’m glad I didn’t fall at the beginning…but I did destroy my trekking pole at the beginning. 😂
