For not being a Mercedes man, you did a great job Mike.
I have the exact same year and model of this car with the twin turbo option, panoramic sunroof and AMG rims. Black on black which is the best color to me. I also have the bluetooth connector module so I can thump my youtube music through its great sound system. Love this car.
The W221 they made more like the W140, build quality, materials, craftsmanship

I would really love to buy one of these.. but some people in the comments are saying that the 2014 model is better "technology wise " but I don't really care about tech all that much ,and I still think that this has that old mercedes sole, which I love!!

It is a bland boring vehicle. I hope you were not considering buying one.
Anybody considering buying this should know that the difference between the 2013 and 2014 s class is probably the biggest difference over one year (technology-wise) between any car ever. No reason to buy the 2013 when the 2014 is so much better. Biggest refresh of all time. Gave us the iconic s class we all know today.

little late of a comment, but the "redesign" for the newer Benz 2014 and up come with a large amount of issues due to the new technology that you're praising. As well as being the first year of the new design, comes with the most issues as they tweak them in the later years. Bang for buck a 2013 at 20k for a really well taken care of loaded out s550 is way better for a 40k 2014 s550 that will give you many issues and doesn't look good IMO

I just purchased this yesterday will be ready Monday, has always driven a caddy 1999 Seville STS, then a 2011 DTS, started giving trouble so I got this,many feed back on what I need to know or maintenance issue. BTW, the one I purchased, just has a #FOB, and the #Start button, was that a mid year change.

You should check out a new GLS 580. Both the 1st AND 2nd rows are heated and cooled with massage. Even the 3rd row is heated!
How do you raise back the rear head rests ? And don't this car have a night vision camera?

@@exod001 Starting to get electronic gremlins, I 've enjoyed it but its time to let it go. I would NOT buy a 2013 today, 120K miles in and it is showing early age.
The engine and transmission are still superb. It's, suspension bladders, seat massage/bolsters, sunroof switch, o2 sensor, wear on armrest and steering wheel, the fucking chrome trim oxidation! She'll run 100 all day every day but she's getting irritating for me.

Is this the long version ?
There's a whole lot of difference in choice of quality materials in this previous s class compared to the new one. The interior of this isn't even as good as the 2013 Lexus Ls 460. But i still prefer the rear exterior styling of this previous model to the newer s class.
Samson Okoro Lexus ls430 rides waaay better than ls460. I was planning to upgrade but chose Mercedes s550 over ls460 because of the smoother ride

I dont think expencive cars are quality when they cost a fortune to maintain.
2 2 the parts cost a lot because of the quality and importing them from Europe also the cars tend to be more complex and thus require more maintenance and up keep
