These drafts are my favorite videos this offseason. You should do more of these and you could do it for RBI’s too or even batting average or stolen bases could be fun
Man, getting to pick ‘01 Bonds and still losing… that’s rough. A big surprise for me looking up guys was Phil Nevin hitting 41 HR for the ‘01 Padres at 3B… and THEN seeing that five of the top seven HR hitters in the NL that year were in the west (Bonds, Gonzalez, Helton, Green, and Nevin). That was quite a year for the division.
My weird pick was remembering from one Immaculate grid that Piazza has one late-career season with the Padres in ‘06 with 22 HRs which isn’t that bad considering no catcher since 2000 had a 30 season
The fact that Dalton lost when he picked Barry Bonds is so sad lol. That should have been an easy win with how much the hr difference that Barry Bonds would have made up haha.
Pujols, fielder, Braun, Edmonds, votto, dunn, cutch, Alvarez, Beltran, Dejong, yadi or Lucroy, I could go all day just gotta get the years right I might be able to go all cardinals lol
I love these drafts and I’d love to see an international element to it somehow! Like, max 2 players per country of origin per team. It might be way too challenging, but it gives a chance for someone to flaunt Jamaicans Devon White and Chili Davis; Ha Seong Kim and Shin Soo Choo; the great curacaons like Andrew Jones, Andrelton Simmons, and Didi; etc.
@@mbrant4879 They have named some older players going way back along with 90s players as well in other videos. I think its primed to their age when they grew up. Easier to remember what happened when you grew up with it on TV and such. That is my take though.
I love these videos. I do wish you required a CF though you guys all typically end up with one. That is a much harder spot to find a high home run total than corner OF (you recognize that when you do All JM teams). Crazy that Dalton failed after getting Bonds. Big whiff there
Another great episode! I would probably do so poorly at this game cause for the most part, my knowledge of specific single season stats and in particular, exact HR totals, don’t go nearly as deep as these guys, so I love watching them pull really great names out of their brains. I figured maybe Piazza had a big year with the Dodgers but maybe I’m way off. Also thought about Headley and Reynolds but wouldn’t have known the best year possible. Plus, Reynolds played for so many different teams.
Even with an NL West guy in the room they still whiffed on the biggest dodger sluggers. Sheffield, Green, Beltre. Couldn’t even remember that MVP Bellinger put up a big number.
My Lineup C 2001 Paul Lo Duca - 25 1B 2009 Adrian Gonzalez - 40 2B 2019 Max Muncy - 35 3B 2004 Vinny Castilla -35 SS 2001 Rich Aurilia - 37 OF 2009 Andre Ethier - 31 OF 2000 Gary Sheffield -43 OF 2019 Joc Pederson - 36 DH 2017 Wil Myers - 30 total 312 3rd place
At the end naming the top at every position I immediately had to go back to the start. I missed the part where it said since 2000 and 70s Johnny Bench definitely had some 40 burgers for the NL West Reds. Also I’d absolutely kill this for the NL Central. Early 2000s Astros is right up my wheelhouse. Get the quick 01 Sosa and then boom I’m cruising. Just when you think you won there’s the 00 Richard Hidalgo knockout punch out of nowhere.

I second this motion
I third this motion
These videos are so awesome
I want to do these with my friends with basketball and PPG but I need us all to be together cus Google ruins it
I fourth this motion.
Also, do this with NFL TD’s 👀
Love this idea but please not rbis lol love batting average or hits

@@adamcervenka2386I’m a Padres fan and remembered this one as well!
💯😂

Bro just whiffed on Aaron Hill 😭😭😭
Sneaky shortstop pick would have been 2001 Rich Aurilia for the giants with 37 ding dongs
That's who I was hoping somebody would have picked. He and Bonds combined for 110 HR's.
Can't believe nobody picked '04 Adrian Beltre
Came here to say this
Historic choke job by Dalt
Dalton with the biggest throw of all time 😭
Also kinda shocked we didn’t get a Grandal, or Adrian Martinez in this
People forget about the insane Shawn Green / Gary Sheffield years in LA
2001 Larry Walker!!! Can't Believe the close finish!
Love these. Makes me feel better about being old when I know they guys from the 2000s, like ‘04 Beltre
Best series y'all do! Love these every time.
Cant wait to see what they come up with for the NL Central
Pujols, fielder, Braun, Edmonds, votto, dunn, cutch, Alvarez, Beltran, Dejong, yadi or Lucroy, I could go all day just gotta get the years right I might be able to go all cardinals lol
You could just go with 2001 guys and be chilling
“How ‘bout that… rlly makes ya think” the way he slouched down and smirked when he said that was hilarious
These videos are amazing! Would love to see all divisions and maybe even other variations
The best series going on the channel right now.
These are great! The host has a great voice for this.
This is a new highlight game. Keep these up

Drafts are my favorite of these vids.
are these since 2000 only? Because 98 Greg Vaughn would’ve been a big pull
Yea it’s since 2000
@@gavinscott6544 why not before 2000 dont they know anything before that baseball did exist

Been waiting for this one

When Aaron Hill was mentioned I kept thinking “2012, 2012, 2012” and when he said 2011 I audibly yelled “Nooooo!”😂
This was dope. Do it for the 80s/90s.
One of my favorite random home run seasons was Rich Aurilia in 2001, with 37.
I was screaming 04 Beltre at the screen 😂 I get being scared of the rest of his NL West tenure though
Not acknowledging Kelly Johnsons 26 hr seasons for the dbacks is a travesty lol cmon dalton! great content though
Dalt "defending the snakes' honor" without 01 Luis Gonzo is wild
Once you do all the divison you should do starting pitching win
I love this series. If you could figure out a K’s pitching rotation, I’d be down for that too. Thanks for all the content!
Keep em' comin' boys!
Even with an NL West guy in the room they still whiffed on the biggest dodger sluggers. Sheffield, Green, Beltre. Couldn’t even remember that MVP Bellinger put up a big number.
They also whiffed on 1999 Jay Bell at 2nd base.
Keep it coming!!!
Love the vid. Please do nl central next, the cardinals are my favorite team.
Her: Hey babe, what did you do with your friends?
Me: Named NL West guys who hit the most homers.
Perfection.
Can we please get the deets on Jolly's lower half fit? @jollyolive is it fully monochromatic? Jeans?
I was screaming Sammy Sosa right after the Bonds pick 😂😂
not me a 3:10 waiting for the THX logo like i was in a moie theatre
Dalton could’ve went 2016 Jean segura!
O/U Dalton drafting 6.5 Dbacks, I am taking the over
That Aaron Hill pick dug his grave
Ending RefGuess for the division-homer drafts is a tough choice. Wrong choice, Sophie!
Should have a pitcher category to make things interesting
After you finish the central divisions, you should draft a starting 9 where all divisions are open and you can go back any year you want in history
My Lineup
C 2001 Paul Lo Duca - 25
1B 2009 Adrian Gonzalez - 40
2B 2019 Max Muncy - 35
3B 2004 Vinny Castilla -35
SS 2001 Rich Aurilia - 37
OF 2009 Andre Ethier - 31
OF 2000 Gary Sheffield -43
OF 2019 Joc Pederson - 36
DH 2017 Wil Myers - 30
total 312
3rd place

kinda wild to not see 2017 JD Martinez with the Dbacks
4:21 jake's reaction lmao
Jolly acting shocked he won like he wasnt researching this topic right beforehand. You're not slick buddy
This with strikeouts for pitchers would be fun
Jolly finally knows ball
Impressive throw. The bonds 01 seemed like it shouldn’t count
Was waiting for someone to pull Adrian Gonzalez in a Padres year in here
Epic collapse from Dalton
2001 was a crazy year for outfielders
What about 2022 judge with 62 homers
Yup was looking to see if anyone else noticed 😮
It’s the nl west he’s not in that division
Very fun!
Love these episodes.
Kyle Schwaber left the chat💀💀💀
I like this game! Refguess was good too.
I am surprised Christian Walker was not picked by now, especially with a Dimondbacks fan right there. Christian Walker hit 35 in 2023!
I’m shouting 2001 Shawn Green!
u guys should do least homeruns (min 80 games)
Dalton literally picked the most home runs in a season and then picked the lowest score possible in a season 😭
What about a Wild Card draft? The team has to have made the wild card that year for the guess to qualify
Shawn Green (49 in 01), and Gary Sheffield (43 in 00) were two big missed answers. Great video though!
If only we went back to 99, Dalton could have had Jay Bell with 38 from our Snakes at 2B
Rockies legend Matt Kemp
Braves legend
Rbi draft is needed next
Not many dodgers picked, a shocking ending for dalton
I’ve been screaming 2004 Adrian Beltre
So fun
Connections was bad enough that I'm also leaving a comment about it on this video.
Why did i think luis had 58 that year too
If Shawn Green 2001 isn’t drafted I’m gonna be pissed
What a fumble
There is a 2016 Red Sox legend in this video. It’s not mookie betts, its Aaron hill
1999-2001 was crazy for offense
I wonder why 💉💉💉
Why don’t you guys do the same thing just with Touchdowns on the Football channel?
Love these
🔥🔥🔥
No one picked A-Gon huh? Man definitely had some pop in the NL West
Max Muncy in 2018 going in drafted is crazy (35)
Excuse me…2001 Sammy Sosa? Is there a reason that’s not counted?
NL west teams only
piazza with 40 HRs with the dodgers was missed
Dalton if you apply hair product with your fingers instead of a comb, you’ll get better results
I had 2016 Jean Segura for the 2nd basemen pick that Dalton choked, and I only know like 15 d-backs players lmao
He hit 20 homers that year, super underrated year as he also led the league in hits
Shocked that no one went for Rich Aurilia
Also Trevor story 19 or 17 I think both those were 35+
No 2009 Adrian Gonzalez is insane 40 bombs 🇲🇽🙏
Jake is the embodiment of the national baseball media. Outside of the Northeast and Dodgers, he’s got no idea where to go.
'04 Beltre, guys!
Larry Walker anyone too!? Dante Bichette?
Dalton really out here with the game in the bag and then he drops Aaron Hill, bro your goat is washed lmao
Surprised no one took 1996 Ken Caminiti
Trevor story had a 38-39 homer year. Coulda been a sneaky pick
37 in 2018. would’ve been a great pick!
kinda surprised no one picked max muncy
The disrespect to Vinny Castilla
