I love your point about using the zoom more like a prime with regard to moving one’s feet. I had this experience recently using the 100-500 to photograph an Easter egg hunt. I found myself lazily standing in one spot, zooming in, zooming out, and clicking away. I think the quality of my compositions suffered as a result. I’ll be more mindful next time.

Great video! I'm trying to consider between the 28 70 f2 and the 50 1.2 for candids of my children.

Hi Dilshad, could you please restate on the sharpness of the image, as it has no image stabilisation. Won't be we forced to use a higher shutter speed to get a sharp portrait.

I find that for photographing people, subject movement is a much bigger issue than camera shake, and none of my “portrait primes” have IS anyway. I love my 28-70. Paired with a 70-200 I feel like a walking portrait machine at events now. Yeah, IS would be a nice bonus as long as it didn’t compromise something else.

Even though the lens itself has no IS, Canon state that the RF 28-70 f2 gets you to 8 stops of stabilisation when combined with an R series camera that has IBIS.
I regularly use this lens on the R5 and stabilisation is rock solid, even for video.
