That’s a killer combination too if you wanna go all prime all day. For weddings, I’m all about versatility and if I can help not having to wear a dual harness (like i usually do), I will. You can seriously get away with using JUST this one lens.
I couldn’t agree more! I had the time of my career documenting a Latvian wedding I just had. It was unreal. Not once did I reach for a prime…and that’s saying something! Where is home for you?
Is this the fastest standard zoom out there? I wouldnt be surprised if it is, the physics wouldnt have allowed for an EF zoom lens that fast Just speculating though
As far as I'm concerned: yes. Canon made this the fastest zoom in their lineup as it currently stands. Everything else under an f/2 aperture are primes starting with the RF 135mm f/1.8.
@@SummersSnaps those are nice but I think you’d need something with a bit more versatility. Tamron makes the now famous 35-150mm which can be put in a second shooters hand and that’s all he/she would probably need all day.
I use an R6 Mark II actually. Yes, it’s on the RF 28-70mm f/2. To be honest, it’s not that it’s low quality: I happened to be using a white mist filter which softens the image a lot more than my black mists; it was entirely experimental and I like to haze my pics a bit because this lens is incredibly sharp. I didn’t want to have that massively digital look.
Ive loved having a 24 1.4 and a 50mm 1.2 side by side. Crop the 50, and have the best of all worlds. I have 3 cameras in the bag on Event day anyway.

It was a no-brainer for me. I have used this lens for numerous weddings and commercial work. The weight is a non issue. It's killer!

any focus issues? I need to rent another one and see if its any better
I couldn't find one, to be honest. This thing did an amazing job at moving a whole lotta glass. I was impressed.
@@FranciscoAlvarezTV ok. Ima take one on another spin in a few weeks and see if it was better than the last.
@@Soul_Visuals_Photography let me know how it goes! This thing is gonna be glued to one side of my dual harness, that's for sure.
@@FranciscoAlvarezTV I will! I'll dm you on the gram
@@Soul_Visuals_Photography as you usually do, lol. I'll be on the lookout.

@@FranciscoAlvarezTV Unless we consider also the famous Sigma 18-35/1.8 and 50-100/1.8 but they are APS-C. But still impressive nonetheless.

why does that shot at 2:52 look so low quality ? if youre using that lens and a r6

f2 is not 2 stops better than f2.8, its only 1 stop brighter
I own them both. There is a marginal difference. Trust me.
Thanks for correcting me. I guess having f/2.2 and f/2.5 kinda messed with me head!
@@kashifswaynerobinson oh absolutely. I'm loving this thing! What do you shoot?
@@FranciscoAlvarezTV I use it for weddings and portraits

I stopped after he used the word marinate.
I guess you couldn’t smell what “he” was cooking.
