This was super helpful!! I'd love to learn more from you on the soft box that you use in the field for portraits...light scenarios, time of day you find it helpful, etc. Love learning more about off camera flash!
I pretty much only use a video light with softbox for any added light. I use the Godox ML60 Bi color with the softobx they make for that light. It's suttle but works great for me. adorama.rfvk.net/c/3445588/1175784/1036?prodsku=GOML60BI&u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.adorama.com%2Fgoml60bi.html&intsrc=PUI2_9102

28-70 F2 ?!!! Wow !!! I used to be 5D, 5DMK2, 5DMK4...then jumped to the Fuji XT4 but, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't itching to get back on a Canon. R6ii would be sweet !
Ive never even heard of these bags!! Might pick one up just to try it out. We have been using the Thinktank bags for years.. might be time to switch it up :)
By the way, I wasn't able to catch the # of delivered photos with the Canon RF 24-70mm f/2.8, do you remember what that number was at the time of recording this video? I'm trying to get an idea of how much it was used in comparison to the 28-70mm, 50mm, etc.
I can't remember, but I do know that I currently use the 28-70mm for about 80% of all of my images. I use the 50mm for a bit more character and I use the GFX with the 80mm a lot. The 80mm tends to replace my 50mm and 85mm images for the canon system. It's just hard to beat the 28-70mm ease of use and the images it produces are wonderful.
Hey Ely, thanks for making these very informative videos that are coming from a place of true field experience as an expert photographer! Would you say that you are still using this same wedding kit today? Or have you made any modifications since this video?
I actually now shoot with two R5s. I'm always changing. at the time I wanted two of the same body and preferred the file size, quick editing, and colors of the R6.
Sure. I just got the R6 II today, so I'll need a few weeks to play with it. I probably won't review any video based cameras like the R5C. I mainly focus on photography at the moment.
@@ThePhotographerGuy saw now that you answered my other comment on a diffrent video about choosing 85 or 50 and you said 50, is it because the verestility? Or any other thing i might be overlooking?
Your stream came up as I was looking at some GFX100s reviews. Great pics and thoughts. I have a big R6 (now R62) rig with the usual suspect RF glass and ProFoto lights. How do you work the Fuji into your marketing? Do you ever mention that you have a ginormus camera that you'll work in to the coverage? If worried what cameras a 2nd might bring into the coverage (Nikon z62 or Sony a74 for instance) and how that will effect processing, then way bring it upon yourself with the GFX?
My clients probably don't care what I'm using so much. I just try to use what I feel is best and works best to get the job done. The GFX inspires me to create better images and push myself.
I have the 28-70 and its on my camera all day. When do you use the 50 when you technically have it on the 28-70? Saw a few images shot with the 50 1.2 and its amazing.
Have you noticed any odd behavior on the R62, versus R6. Both of my R62's will shut off in heavy shooting (processionals, shooting couples with a dog). Just die. Have to pull the battery for a firm reset. Haven't a Canon camera do that in almost 10 years.
@@ThePhotographerGuy It's a mixed bag - they've added more ability to customize the interface, and the DOF simulation (with RF lenses) is a plus but the battery life suffers and both of my copies do very odd things. The firmware update didn't help. We still have a fleet of R6's so when I got frustrated with the new I go old. Good luck.

Snap, one more question - you've really covered the normal look with the 50L, 28-70 and 80 1.7 all in the same bag. Are there times you'd pick on lens over the other or are there plans to dump the 50L since that look is covered by the 80?
On wedding days i'm going indoors to outdoors a good amount and they all have a use for sure. I'll be making a video per lens so you can see how I use them.
Great job! I have zero need for more lenses but I kept watching and now I think this may have been an expensive 11 minutes and 47 seconds!
thanks! they add up for sure:)

You don't miss the weight though
28-70 is big, but dang it’s a rad lens.
So underrated
Thanks.
Thank you !
You bet. Thanks for watching.

I am small wedding photographer with Canon 5d iv . I need to change R6 2 and lens 28-70 what do you think??
It will be a much easier combo for sure. Eye AF and mirrorless is is amazing.

You bet. thanks for watching. Yes. The only addition would be the new GFX 100II and today two R5 MK II showed up. And some Godox lights.
@@ThePhotographerGuy How awesome! Christmas arrived early for you! How are you liking the R5 MK II's so far?
Thanks...
very cool
Why do you find you used the R6 over the R5, professionally? File size, low light performance?

Would you say its a good idea to change the 24-70 2.8f for the 28-70mm f2 ?

I would say yes, if you're taking portraits. For travel i'd stick with the 24-70mm.

great content. Does the 85 Samyang still work in the r5 latest firmware? thanks
Yes. I have have 1.7.0. Works great on the R5, R3, and R6 II.

What filters are you using on your lenses? Don't recognize them.
I just use the B&W #010 MRC UV filters on anything over $500 or so.
