Something non Aussies struggle to understand, is our use of "disrespectful respect". You don't see much more passion and respect for a legendary Aussie Rock band, than in the crowds "chorus" to this.
Most English speaking people struggle to understand a fucking word we say. Especially country Queenslanders who tend to drawl each word in the others. Iknowifuckendo, ay
Kiwi in aussie in the 80s- saw these guys live at Seagulls Tweed Heads NSW 1988 with my bf - i was 17 loved them then- love them now still- one of the best, but sadly underrated bands from Aussie. Still a band whos songs can be played years later and still bring the house down and have the unofficial chorus screamed back(or as the case may be for me- whilst pogoing round ya lounge like a jellypig singing the words at the top of ya lungs.. 35 years later #Boganforlifeitseems 🤘🤘
Probably, but Flowers who became Icehouse after their first album, were an excellent band at Maroubra Seals Club, in 1980. I only saw Cold Chisel on tour, not in a pub, but they were very talented.
Listen to the '79, '88, '14 versions in a row,... the Angels evolved the sound, but never lost the passion. That pause for the first refrain, and the jump down to the crowd, that's a bands response to being told "We don't want to broadcast the crowd,..." :D
I saw these guys play the Bridgeway Hotel here in Adelaide back in the day....Got the honour of going back stage and meeting the band...Best day of my life....
Love the lead guitar groove that starts happening at the 4:10 mark. First saw these guys in 1980, then a few times ca 1982/3. Finally saw them again in 2019 - sans Doc, of course. RIP, Mr Doc.
Thank you.I remember seeing them more than once. And l mainly remember 3things One docs scarf. 2 l remember his crazy eyes. And the main thing l remember is how every time l saw them. The floor bounced up and down all Great band
Yes - The floor was moving a lot at Cronulla Leagues Club one night . Got downstairs after the show , glass everywhere from the chandeliers falling from the ceiling . They blew the roof off at Bluesfest this year with Dave Gleeson singing.
I saw them as a 17 yo kiwi chick freshly arrived with my bf at Seagulls in Tweed heads 1988- still one of the best concerts for high octane performance - from the band and the crowd 😂 I played it at a bar I was working in, back in NZ a few years back- and when I yelled out the unofficial chorus, the patrons just exploded and joined in 😂
I was introduced to this great band mid 90,s., and they had been around a while then.... But.. They sounded as fresh as ever...The Aussies really love rock, especially the home grown stuff. And there are some great bands to listen to. Go exploring... See what great stuff you find.
Doc may have passed, but The Angels still Rock hard, and the crowd still jumps from start to finish. GO SEE EM WHILE YOU STILL CAN. Its still an awesome experience. Many of us fans who have followed them from their early days still party hard at their gigs, even with our knees, hips, n back issues. Dave does an awesome job on vocals, without trying to 'replace' Doc. They still play their own gigs, as well as tour at gigs like Red Hot Summer Tour, and similar annual events.
You notice the Irish and British are very similar in music and when they perform onstage, in movies, etc. Doc Neeson performance, eccentric dance style is very much like Peter Garrett, indeed. Bon Scott copied everything from Stevie, the cheeky grin, the dance, the taste for the good life, the lot.

Yep its an Aussie thing - no other culture has it, not even our cuzins across the Taz
Now because of effing multi effing culturalism it's all tacky third world crap. Australia died by 1990.

10 years today RIP Doc
I’m an American senior - first time hearing this- love it😂❤
Seven years today since we lost you Doc, may you remain immortal in our memories.

This brings tears to my eyes
It seems like longer. He was a legend 😢❤
This is the Unofficial nation anthem of AUSTRALIA, And we rock!!
Almost ten years. This is a song that makes me love this country. Brilliant. This is Australia.
Adelaide born,
Angels on the radio.
Flinders educated.
Summer of 1977.
Days on the beach.
We were ourselves.
We were Australia.
RIP Doc, Oz will always miss you

If this was in 2014, then it was one of his final performances, as he passed in June of that year. What a loss. All good wishes.

An Absolute Fitting Tribute, Not only to the original Angel's Band Member's, But to Doc As Well
Doc saying goodbye in the only way he knew how - belting out one of the Angles many, many awesome anthems of aussie rock.
OMG we looked just like that in the 80's, blasted this album in the car, SO fun! They deserve every accolade, best band!!!
Memories of rock arena at the Mansfield tavern. God I miss the pub circuit in south East Queensland in the 80s. Miss you Doc.

I remember them at the Horden. The atmosphere was electric. Bloody amazing.
Seen the angels in Tasmania in the 80 what a night RIP DOC 🎤

Why did they sensor the crowd after the first "chorus"? It has ruined the whole vibe of the live performance
Thanks for sharing!! It was my first real concert!
This one turned out to be his last! :( RIP Doc Neeson!
Whenever I'm having a bad "day", this is the reason I stay sain.
One of my favorite bands that I never got to see live. Love these guys!
me to, not that i can remember...

YES HOLY SACRED , LESS THAN PURRFECT
MAN OF GOD
DOH 💋
Had the voice up till the end, ended well doc.
The fucking best
The guitar is like a might scream and Doc ruled his court well. Here too short , Gone too long.
The guitar at the start is supposed to be an ambulance. I think the song was originally about a friend of the band who died in a car accident.
@@andrewwhite6586 It was

Doc Neeson was as good as Bon Scott , legend!
better!
BETTER
I’m sorry but he was not better than Bon Scott! Bon Scott was a legend. Do not disrespect my man like that
Oh Doc was awesome. I saw him perform in a wheelchair at Dapto Leagues. But Bon Scott was one of a kind. No comparison.

Doc Neeson is Irish and the crowd waves a British flag😂
I dedicate this song to albo and his racist voice to parliament 😂
