Can we all just admit how great 90s rock was there really is nothing like it anymore
it sure was i kick myself i did not appreciate it more best era of music the 90s
Yep..
It was, and we blinked.
Time flies by so quickly😮
Fuckin ay, I’m an old man now (42 yo) and I play this for peoplor in their 20’s and it blows their minds. Still blows mine too.
Man the 90's what a decade
Probably the best one all over all....
@@ibelieveinsomething3895 thats a bold statement, for me its the 80s
@@jimcunningham61 Yes indeed. I just meant variety wise and new styles. Every generations had their own favorites decades😀 anything defore year 2000 was the best I think. Now it's garbage.
@@ibelieveinsomething3895 so true , for me the 80s had so many artist I love
Rightttt
Andre Agassi was always my favourite 90's frontman

They both had a great 90’s😂
@Jared Wineera the early 90s Agassi hair was fire, complete with the thick chest hair too. What a hairy man! LOL
@@andrewives5001 game, set and match 😋
Throwing Copper is an absolutely phenomenal album.
Agreed
Yeah man. First 3 albums were pretty solid. Saw them a few times in the 90s and they brought it every time.
Damn right.
I remember when I was 11 and did some chores, got paid and the first 2 Albums I bought were Throwing Copper and Counting Crows August and Everything After. I must’ve listened to both a few hundred times. I then thought all CDs would be this great… turns out I probably bought the 2 best albums of the 90s on my first purchase
@@LegolasD For sure, great music really stands the test of time. Of all the great songs on Throwing Copper, Pillars of Davidson will always be my favorite.
One of the most beautiful songs ever written
Hell yeah
Agreed
Gross over-statement
Roe Vs Wade. 😂
@@mikewhite4560that's not what the song is about. It's about life and death under the same roof of the hospital.
I definitely took the 90's for granted..I'd give anything to return to that time and place
Yes, we’re the last generation that knows what real life and living actually was 😔
Same....surfing, no mortgage, no kids.....just living
So did I!!!! Who would have thought we were living during the best times!!!
We all took the 90 's for granted
I don't think this has anything to do specifically with the 90s, I think this is about you not aging well and being very conscious of it.
Live, Nirvana, Cranberries, Radiohead, Oasis, Alice and Chains, Alanis, Pearl Jam, No Doubt, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica, The Smashing Pumpkins, Four Non Blondes, Mr Big, The Verve, Ugly Kid Joe, Aerosmith, there's just sooo many great bands in the 90's. It's unbelievable.
Well said homer30
Thanks for mentioning ugly kid joe
You forgot Creed !
yah great pal
Faith no more, hodoo gurus..
When the crowd sings it's like hes catching all of there energy and pushing it through the microphone. True talent
Balam... what an absolutely true and real comment. You're awesome for that!!!
@@myname8627 thanks man I'm a long time guitar player I've felt it firsthand it IS so magical. Thanks for commenting you made my day
The guitarist fucked it
@@jamesclark7829 lol that e to bar chord switch used to get me every time, but he is a "pro" lol still an amazing moment
@@balamtheknowledge9578 he is playing only bar chords..no e chord in this song. F C G
No cell phones, just people enjoying the moment being alive in the greatest decade humanity will ever see.
The greatest time is with Jesus. Don't reject salvation and God's eternal heaven.
I heard that Wolverich 😅
Purely enjoying a festival...no cell phones
Everything about life was so much better back then. Back when gas was 99 cents a gallon
People forget that all changed in 2001
Gas companies started making trillions in profits and the prices never went back down
Before 2001 we were in the golden age
Concert didnt end well tho, lol
You got it 100% the 90s is the best ever
You know it's a banger when the lead singer is shirtless.
But seriously this is a formative song for me. I know it was written by dudes but as a girl, teen, woman, mother, wife....it speaks to me.
Thanks guys. We are all human. We are all in this together.
Some.of the SHOULD put a shirt on. Nobody wants to see their gut.
Well, it is about one woman giving birth and another woman dying.
Thank you Hailey your comment means a lot to me. Be blessed.
and there's nothing wrong with that. as a matter of fact, that is something to be celebrated 🙏❤️
Yes, written by dudes, but written for women, the only ones who can give life. Mother Nature and human motherhood, the spiritual and physical.
-40 year old patiently awaiting the birth of his first child, 12/25/2023.
God bless you all.
All life is precious.
As an old guy (59) this sends chills every time I hear it. Not just great musically but the lyrics are so poignant. It sends a tear to my eye every time. Not many songs give you a visual as we listen. This one does. Expressing life’s tragedies. Not too bad for a bunch of punk ass kids. Just kidding. Love Live.
@Bobcaygeon very well stated. I saw them live in August 2019 in an intimate venue in Wash DC. A place called The 930 Club. Front row. Awesome band. Be well man…
@@LordStanley94 I love the 9:30 club! I'm from Baltimore but I drive down to DC for shows all the time
We have rap now.!, 😁
your not old my friend
So now you are 60. Not old for sure. Timeless song.
I am 50 years old and I love this song the same way I did when i was 21
Same ! And I’m 53 lol
It still makes me 😢
Proof that 90's was the last great decade of music. Man, how I loved Live and this song
Just imagine, the year is 1999. You're at just another concert "Woodstock" with all your buddies. Just cashed a bowl of stank grass from a Dr. Pepper can. Only worry is school starts back in a few months and trying to remember the directions to get back home. You can't look it up on any cellphones because noone even thought that would be a thing. You and your friends drive back after a kickass time of live music, love, and comradery. To some that was the last time yall hung out together, or even spoke to one another. Its 2021 Next thing you know, half of those friends are not living anymore, everything is ran by media and internet, Woodstock no longer exists and since the world is in a pandemic...live music is on a standstill.
i was there as a 12 year old with my 16 yr old sister and her friends. i grew up that weekend. ill never forget woodstock 99
I stared work as an over the road trucker in January of 2000, and at that time only about 25% of long haul drivers had cell phones, we used to laugh at those idiots who payed $200+ a month for a mobile phone, we saw no purpose in it. I had an 800 number tied to my home phone, I could call and talk to my wife for 10 cents a minute. How times have changed...now, if we leave or phone at home, we turn around and go get it.
Made me cry a little man shut up haha. Loves
Man that is depressing. Lol
Life is pretty garbage now
Beautiful, no smartphones, everyone living the moment
Finally someone who gets it. Its no smart phones not no cell phones. Most adults had a cell phone by 1999 they were all the rage. They just took terrible quality photos and videos
Few tattoos too. Just good music.
No one has a cellphone up recording themselves! BEAUTIFUL!
Only because a phone that could take good video didn’t exist yet. The nokia flip phones took terrible photos in 1999 but most people had one. Never seen something sell so fast than cell phones in 1999. Everyone lined up around the block to get one when they were released in 1998
Born in 79, Live was on every party I was at esp this song, makes me emotional reading your comments.
This song carried me through one of my lowest points the passing of my son...I've always said it was meant for me every word every note.... I cry sad and happy tears but live/ed makes me be able to feel it his guitarist drummer base ect allow me to truly feel it
No one cares about your sob story
Live is real❤
im so sorry to hear of your son's passing. I hope you are able to celebrate his life through this song, knowing someday you will see him again!
2:42 the absolute joy on his face is the most beautiful thing
Goosebumps. Real voices.. no auto tune shtt
And the lyrics actually meaning something, it's deep thoughts behind
Something about this song man. When it was brand new and I first heard it , It moved me.. still does now .... can't explain it
I feel you on that
We dont always have to be able to explain luckily! I just know that i fed off of this song quite some times when things where dark!
I can
The build-up.
He was deffinitely tripping when he wrote this. For sure.
The greatest time of all of our lives and none of us knew it. This has been one of my Dad's favorite songs my whole life, I remember hearing it a million times as a child. Learning it now on guitar as an adult and seeing the lyrics and what they mean brings a whole new meaning to it.
Dad is now happy that you know what he was trying to tell you through this song ...never underestimate a Dad's love for his children
Gosh. You hit the nail on the head. Greatest time of our lives but none of us knew it
80's rock laid the foundation for the 90's!
I remember when this song was just a pretty good song at the time. Now its better than anything we get anymore.
Man I miss the 90s!

The 90's were the last great decade before tech took over. Getting to live through this era was badass
The peak of true Music
Agreed..90’s were like magic! Thinking back now especially… nostalgia is gone.. poor kids these days will never know that feeling we had.
My mom died of cancer when I was 12, and this song always makes me think of her. I miss you momma.
he looked so damn happy while singing my heart tingles a little when i watch this
All the artists look back on this concert as a highlight in their career and you can tell by the performances they put on.
Haley mine too !!!
One of the best performances of Live!! Ed K is so talented, his voice and energy...and that sweet smile.
It's like butter
It will never be like this again and that’s depressing. 90s and early 2000s felt like an alternate reality now. Can we just go back?! The music, movies, fashion, no smart phones.. Life was good.
I was in the crowd smiling and enjoying the moment...not a care in the world.
Live lived up to their name. One of the best crowd responses at Woodstock 99.😎🤘
Same. Was awesome. Had a blast

As a 38 yr old I gotta say.. very cool!!
one of the Most underrated/underappreciated bands ever
I never took the time over the years to actually listen to your music, I know now... what I was missing!!💋🌹❤️💯👍🎯!!
This decade will always have the best music that was ever made! Music that touched your soul to the very core!❤️❤️❤️
And your HOW OLD?
The 90s doesn't even seem like the same life anymore compared to today. Seems like a dream
True

True, what a shame
On of the most underrated bands of the 90s....every Aussie had "Throwing Copper" on repeat on CD
Eating is underrated. Bad comment. They’re an excellent band n known for it. ✌️
Saying anyone it “underrated” has expired, it’s very overrated, you’re not hip!
I'm from the usa and saw Live, live in Norway. I was never the same!
Not a massive Live fan but their Unplugged performance is incredible. Them at their absolute peak, captured at the perfect moment. And their Drummer is a God damn beast. Check it out
90’s gave us so much great rock music!!
I was in my 20’s and so happy I embraced it back then.
If you think about it… 90’s rock, 90’s country, even 90’s pop and rap were all basically at a high point
Still my favorite song of all time. LIVE Lightning Crashes. The art, soul, and feeling in this song's lyrics, voice, and band are unparalleled.
🤔 yeah, I've had this song on a loop for the last 23yrs. I refuse to waste my time listening to anything else.
Her placenta falls to the floor? Lmfaoo
I remember driving through NSW at the exact time it rained and ALL the Roo's came into the road to drink. At midnight on a Christmas Eve/Day, the best day for to drive Fast through Australia. Listening to this.
The 90's was the greatest time to live. I was young and in love. How I miss this part of my life.
Rhythm, beats, notes, vocals, expression, energy, sunshine, freedom. Celebrate humanity.
I lived in the best generations of music!
That is true for sure, but you have to admit that it can't be done that much anymore. Crossover was the last runup of rock.
My son is 30 years old, born in 93. He keeps saying , you guys had the best cars, best quality clothes, best music. 60’s 70’s 80’s , 90’s , the end.
Older rock video are one of the few places left on this wild world of web that you can find almost entirely positive comments and energy. Long life music!
I wish I could go back to the 90s. Rewind the world. I would appreciate it more. I took the 90s for granted at the time. I suppose that’s how it always goes. Whatever phase of life you’re in at the time one day you’ll look back on it with nostalgia and miss “the good old days”.
Thank your god you could live in that beautiful years, I'd do anything to live in these years, but I wasn't even born.
The 90s were my formative years. Wish I could have lived through them as a twenty something
Me also, love to rewind and go back to the 90's and appreciate life.
I always have to tell myself that someday today will be the good ol days. I have to or I would kill my self
@@gfersurvived6622 yess I totally know what you mean.
Ah, not a cellphone in sight, just fans experiencing one of the greatest eras of music the world will ever know!

What I love about this video is there are no cell phones in the crowd recording the concert. Everyone is singing together and having a good time. I wanna go back to this time.
This. 💯
thats the biggest difference from nowadays, people lived in the moment, and felt every second of it
now people live in delayed time because they are glued to the phone or internet watching or reading about stuff that has already happened, and thus are not actually participating in it
You know that is a great point. The crowd is in the moment. How can you be in the moment when you are videoing something for later. Put down the cell and enjoy what is.
Because cell phones didn't exist, bruh.
@@rommulus the world is so suffocating and evil now the youth have no choice but to avoid it.
Hello I’m born in 1995 and this song makes me ball to my eyes are sore. This era of music will always be my favorite and I’m not too young to know. 90s baby
One of the most underrepresented bands in Germany. Great lyrics, great guitar sounds and a fantastic voice from the singer.
The yr my sister lost 2 baby boys and she had the hardest time, I never thought that she would be able to get over it, and one day I don't know why but I felt like I should play her this song and I did so the next couple of yrs she was always listening to this song somewhere it gave her comfort. I was 19 in 1999. Oh dear God 😳 . I wouldn’t go back and do it any differently. It was a great time
They don’t make them like this anymore! ❤ so glad I was born when I was. I love all fans of this music!!
Live is a very under rated band. The debut album was their best by far.
Live is such a great but underestimated band.
Throwing Copper was a masterpiece and we had to try and do one song from it. Hope you will enjoy our take on it :

Your saying underrated and they never got any better. ??? You even said by far
They were amazing. I'm friends with Chad Gracey the drummer. Too bad they broke up and Ed is playing with a back up band until they reconcile. CT I'm told is gone for good. Patrick and Gracey aren't talking. All over a side business gone sour.
I understand , Can't stop playing it , it's fantastic, I'm 70 now , Very Powerfull, GOD bless your Mum X

Found the poverty wench that didn't have a cell phone in 1999 lololol
Always liked Live but never watched any performances of them. I was born in 89 and wish I was a bit older to have really experienced this musical time more. Incredible!
Why does music have the unique ability to remind me of the constant passage of time around me.
I can feel it comming back again. I can feel it

What a masterpiece this song is, and what a performance. I was only 9 at the time lol, but I'd love to go back and experience it now
I watched this video again, I am so moved every time !!!❤
No words absolutely love this song, it will always be a classic 💕
I graduated high school in 91. This is one of many songs from the 1990s that are profound, in my opinion. Timeless classics now. I'd love to go back to the 90s. But unfortunately I can't do that. However, songs like this take me back home for a few minutes. A big thanks to bands like Live, Counting Crows, New Radicals, and Nirvana along with many other bands that shaped my teens and twenties.
Live brings me back to the best times of my life. The CD Mental Jewelry was on constant repeat in my dorm in 1995. They have so many great songs. 🎵
Watching this is making me cry…for the times that will never ever be like this again and for feeling so damn blessed that I got to experience some of it ❤
Sound guy should never have to pay for another beer his whole life. Great job, well captured 👏
Powerful performance! What a great frontman! Serious chills!
The band that saved my life
Same stage, same day as Bush's Glycerine. What a day that would have been to be there.
Man the 90s was the best decade the music sure was something else incredible
There are movies, video games, smells and foods that we go back to from long ago and they just don't have the same power that music does to take you RIGHT BACK to those moments in your life. They give you the SAME EXACT joy you had back then for what you were experiencing.
I miss those days but I'm glad I can still experience some of it. Sometimes I see lesser known music these days that call back in spirit to this type of music and it gives me hope that a future generation is going to usher in another "90's". Let's stay hopeful!
One of my all time favourite songs! Never fails to give me a good feeling 💜
