I hunted mine on and off for six months (mostly to prevent burnout and also because of school and work) and once I captured her I named her Ochako. She is now chilling in my Ultra Sun with my shiny Ho-Oh that I caught in Soul Silver.

I've been hunting this shiny celebi since pokemon crystal on VC first came out. Today. Today I finally got my shiny Onion Fairy. Almost 5 years in the making to get it but I finally got my celebi. I'm so happy right now that after almost 5 years of hunting I finally got it.

Congrats on the Shiny Celebi!!!:D It is a wonderful Shiny Pokemon to finally have in our games. I think Shiny Celebi may be obtainable through the Japanese Colosseum Bonus Disk because I also know through the other regional Bonus Disks Jirachi is not Shiny Locked but as soon as your Transfer it to your game before you Receive it in your Party, the IVs, Natures, Shiny/Non Shiny Values are already pre-determined. Good job Catching one of the rarest Shiny Pokemon in the game. Also, that Master Ball was worth, no doubt about it. If you want, you can also clone Master Balls easier in Gold and Silver. Crystal Cloning was attempted to be Patched by GameFreak back in the day, but instead they caused even more issues as it being super easy to get a glitch Pokemon with Missing Files in it's coding. But yeah, even if you don't have a Master Ball anymore, it was really worth, on one of the rarest Shiny Pokemon in the game!
One more thing I would like to say or moreso ask: are you going to try to get one more Shiny Celebi in your other Crystal so you can Transfer it to Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, or Ultra Moon? Kind of seems worth it but kind of doesn't since Celebi isn't even in the PokeDex since it's Alolan Dex only and no National Dex ;0 Still, you can Clone your Shiny Celebi in Gold or Silver, friend!^-^
Thanks!! It really seems like that bonus disc is locked, but the fact that there is no 100% confirmation I can find still leaves it up in the air! Still trying to figure out my plans for this Celebi, good ideas though!

PokéGuitaristJake The cloning glitch wasn't patched in Crystal, it just has a more delayed timing than Gold/Silver. Instead of resetting between "Off" and "The" when it tells you don't turn off the power, reset a second after the "Saving, don't turn off the power." text. I cloned at least 6 Master Balls (one for each Legendary and Celebi), a crap ton of Rare Candies, and my Odd Eggs.

BlueGamer11 in the VC release you only need to beat the E4, you don't need 16 badges like the mobile event in jpn did.

BlueGamer11 Nope, you fight them after 8. You might be thinking of hgss where they get a power up after 16 badges.

Good luck!!! The idea of a "lucky file" is all superstition, but if you want to still restart, go for it!

I finally got my own Shiny Celebi today. It’s one of only 2 1/8192 hunts I’ve seen through to the end (the other being Litwick in Black 2, also earlier this year)
Just got mine this morning, luckily pretty quick only 640 resets, Congratulations to all that have captured this pink onion
Why don't you reset by pressing A+B+Start+Select at the same time? It's way faster in my opinion.

I've heard that the GS ball can be obtained on an English cartridge by communicating with a Japanese copy of the game. Can anybody confirm this?

CarnageKabuto (Fearsome Shinies) Suicune is super worth it! It's definitely being overshadowed by Celebi right now, and it's on my future hunt list, too! Best of luck; it's a pretty satisfying hunt!

So do you play through both games at once then began the hunt or did you beat one. Then start hunting and play through the second while hunting on the first then through time just start soul hunting? Did this make sense?
Isaac Herring The second file is actually an old Crystal file that I transferred up to the VC game using homebrew, but that's a story for another day! All I had to do to trigger the event was to beat the Pokemon League again
I'm watching as many shiny Celebi videos as I can find, so I can stay motivated as I hunt it. Sitting at 2,996 resets as of this comment.

Does it make a difference if I softreset with the touchscreen or using A+B+Select+Start ??? I'm 1500 SRs in and only used the button combo :/
No it doesn't. Someone once told me that doing the other way of the on screen reset doesn't work but I just got my shiny celebi today after 5 years doing that same thing. Either way works don't listen to people if they say it doesn't work.
I just hunted this. My game cut off on it at 1223 SR. Reclaimed 438 SR later. Catch 2 back to back magikarp in go the same day. I wasn’t hunting them. I was walking with my girlfriends kids and decided to open for the first time since it came out. Later that night I was grinding levels on my golduck to help my flash/ sleep spam Luigia since I used my master ball on celebi, I ran into a shiny onix. Now I’m 251 SR lugia and feel like I’m in for a long hunt

Got mine back around 2018! Sadly, I never got around to getting parental restrictions off to download Bank, so now it’s stuck in VC Crystal, and I won’t be able to replay it without deleting the Pink Onion Fairy. But that’s okay. Most important part is that I found it in the first place.
You can mode your 3ds very easily and then download anything you want. It's not stuck yet, but you gotta do it before bank shuts down. We don't know when that will be cus they said it will still be active after 3ds online shuts down

i started with pen and paper and moved to tally clickers. now im looking into foot pedals :)

Fun fact hit AB start select and you can soft reset way easier
phanntom I typically resort to that on my GBA SPs, but the old style of 3DS doesn't have a very comfortable button layout to do that with one hand, so I went with the slightly slower touchscreen for comfort

Rhian Chambers lol I wish I knew! That's just how they programmed it. If I had to guess, it's because the Goldenrod Pkmn Center had a different layout in the Japanese version with some sort of mobile connectivity feature
