I've tried to learn the morra gambit, but these lines are so insane and so deep, they all look kind of similar but are so different. There are so many lines as well. I love to study openings but these Morra lines are so complicated to me, I cant remember these for some reasons. Every video I've watched are going so fast showing crazier and crazies lines. I feel like I will never face some of these anyway. I play the morra setup against anything and then we play a game 😂
So what I'll do for you is make a 2 minute Smith Morra Beginners breakdown, I think that will be next video on the channel. I think if you can remember everything in that 2 minutes your Morra's will be 10x stronger than if you didn't!
@@chrislevy42069 Very good idea ! Could be longer than 2 minutes, I can remember some openings but Idk why I struggle with these lines lol. I just reached 2000 and I can remember most lines from William Graiff openings for exemple, but still I'm sure it will help a lot of people, and maybe myself as well. I've switched to playing d4 (Von Popiel gambit) to avoid sicilians, but I still transpose to Morra gambits against Benoni 😂
@@maximepoca9396 oh, no way. You're even better than me lol I'm 1800 hahaha. there really is only a couple of setups to remember against the Morra - e6 d6, e6 a6, Bb4, dragon, professionals, Siberian, and Bg4. Shouldn't take too long to just show the different setups to remember, maybe 3 minutes haha. But - I do completely understand how hard it is to learn an opening, though it's a lot harder to learn when you are having to look through 15 different people's videos to learn the lines - at least you have only this one video to learn :) that's why I make these, so that 90% of what you will see against the Morra is in one video. I swear though, it feels amazing now playing against the Sicilian knowing all of this. When you hit a line you don't know yet just check the timestamps after the match 😊
@@chrislevy42069 Not that much better, 2000 rapid is my peak, and trying to get there in blitz. Yep I know I need to come back to this video sometimes and I will! Still maybe a beginner video on this might be interesting for some people ! I know it always feels amazing to hit a crazy line that you know !!
I have had much better success against the Sicilian since I started playing this :) hope it helps, and if not there's still no problem at all playing a pure Morra
i like pushing the pawn to e5 and then playing pawn to f4, known as the abstinence gambit where the point is that you get an extra tempo compared to an immediate d4 which forces them into an alekhine-like position

I'M BACK
The bit with Esserman is worth putting in a lichess study
Working on putting one together
@@chrislevy42069 Great video! Do you have an update on the PGN?
Glad to see you're back on RUclips. I really enjoy your fast paced explanations.
Keep going at it my fellow gambit connoisseur!
Will do thanks for the love!
Oh i have waited for this thank you sir.
Hope it was worth the wait!

@@chrislevy42069 that fact that so many high rated players watch your videos says something about these lines (I myself don't know what)
I actually play the pure smith morra, i didnt even consider the move order subtleties

Mayhem In the Morra is THE BEST Smith morra book ever, fuck all those fraud chessable courses, mayhem in the morra is the goat
Yessir! I got the chessable course but honestly I find it kind of hard to navigate so imma buy his hard copy too
Great video! Could you give the lichess study?
2:49 wasnt the point here to play Nd5 immediately without the rook and pawn moves?
