Hey Igor, your vodeos are amazing. Juat about three months ago, I was still about 1400-1500. I had been stuck in this rating range for about a year. But after watching your masterclass and many of your videos, i skyrocketed to 1750! You truly are amazing! Love your content.
Great Lesson Igor, I'm a big fan of positional chess, I love the frustration it gives my opponent that only knows how to launch quick attacks, I calmly build up a solid position with no attacking options and slowly but surely outplay them, ... Plus big shout out to your video editor he's doing a great job, I'm also a graphic designer just in case you or anyone in the future needs my services. Thanks
Your principles have helped me better understand chess tactics and strategies as they apply in developing plans. I started climbing back in my online rankings from the terrible drop. I'm back to the 1500 range and climbing and have even beaten a few friends that are rated 1900-2350 in a few over-the-board games at the Friday Chess club I run at the Tallyn's Reach Library in Aurora Colorado. We have a Candidate Master who beats me about 4:1 at the moment, but I'm finally giving him more challenges and winning a few games more often now. That Knight Blockade concept will probably help me save many games as will the concepts you just gave on the same color Bishop endgame situations. These concepts work very well.
1place your night on outposts 2 secure that night 3 don't exchange without a reason 4 block central pawns (to block the position) 5 restrict an opponent's night (with a bishop or pawns) 6 bishops are better than knights 7 develop pieces to aggressive rather then passive squares 8 you can use a night barrier to control squares where the night cover one colour and the pawns another (endgame) 9 make an opponent's bishop ineffective by putting your pieces on opposite colours (endgame) 10 create a robust pawn structure ( "/" or "\" shape)
2:14 in and I'm Mindblown lmao. I saw the check with the bishop. I calculated and saw no drawbacks (castling as fast as possible, equal trades) but I NEVER saw the opportunity to jump in with the Knight to an outpost.. I start to realize that I lack positional play 🤣 Great video as always 🙏
This is exactly the type of breakdown I've been looking for. I'm not even halfway through and learning so much that I can immediately apply. Thank you!
Hi, I hope you’re doing well. I just wanted to follow up on our recent practice session. I found it really helpful and appreciated your feedback. If there’s anything specific you’d like me to focus on or any additional drills you recommend before our next session, I’m all ears! Looking forward to our next practice. Thanks again, This message conveys gratitude and a willingness to improve, while also opening the door for further guidance. Let me know if you’d like to adjust it further!
Thanks for very good lesson. In last position black can play 1...g5 instead of 1...g6 and after 2. h4 gh4 3. gh4 white pawns are not connected. This is the only chance for black to win this end game.
I like how you can apply these in reverse - I open with d4 as white, so I end up playing against KID a lot and I know to play b4 immediately or that knight gets dug in there like a tick. Nc5->b4 is pretty much automatic for me now.
in the opening you should memorize the exact moves that you should be doing so that way you don't have to think about positional play like none of these situations would ever occur in my games because I play different openings
Sir you are great chess coach. Your videos are amazing ,helpful ,deep and very practical. Sir I have a request can you please make video on accelerated dragon 🙏
My own strategy to crush scandinavian defense 1. e4 d5 2.exd5 qxd5 3.Nc3 qe6+ 4.be2 qg6 5.Nf3 qxg2 6.rg1 qh3 Now You Don’t Attack The Queen Instead 7.bc4 Nf6 And Play A Brilliant Move 8.bxf7+ kxf7 And In Move 9 You Fork The King And The Queen 9. Ng5+
Thanks! Please make more videos to help me reach 2000 rating. I’ve been stuck at a 920 rating, and it feels like even the chess website doesn’t want me to increase my rating, since it always pairs me with underrated opponents. I feels like I deserve much more rating because generally I easily defeat 1500 rated players.
You need some reality check bro, even for me it's not easy to beat a 1500 and I'm 1700 blitz with 1800+ peak rating. If you're paired with lower rated players but you can beat 1500s why is that a problem 😂😂
I would like to see a video about you playing against Tal-BOT and trying to use your thinking system to defeat it. It would be a huge lesson of how to play against high rated opponents. Who agrees with me say YES!!!
Actually yes f5 is not the ideal square for a knight in that structure, it’s d5, an actual outpost where no pawn could chase it away. Nf5 prepares the fastest knight maneuver from d4 to d5, Nf5 Ne3 Nd5. This is why in the Najdorf black plays a6 first than play e5 to stop Bb5 check
The reason why i play posistional chess its because i want to slowly choke my opponent and rhe moment i get a good position i start my relentless slow attack to anoy them as much as possible im 1400 btw
Literally first game after watching this I played like a 2000 which is like + 600-700 to my actual elo. And my opponent played like a 1650 so no easy game for my level
Hey im currently 1961 and im really struggling to get these 40 rating points. For some more information im pretty good at openings and endgames. But my opponent always dominates me with white even though i know a lot of theory with black. I also get crushed in the middle-game. Please help

This is the most useful chess video I've ever watched. As a 1400, there was a huge load of new information here.
As someone aiming to get to 2000 in blitz(1700 currently) this is super useful

Hope you have a great Thanksgiving, Igor. Thks for your practical, helpful teaching lessons. You are the best! Larry
I think it is not just about outpost. It is about blocking his backward by controlling d5 with Nf5 you enable Ne3 - fix the weak pawn on d6
Amazing lesson! I am sure it would help all chess players below 2000. Thank you again for sharing such wonder lessons.

great stuff will try and secure my knight outposts, have not been thinking about that (I am 1200)
These principles sound so sacred! Much appreciated @GMIgorSmirnov
7:43 I gasped audibly wow. I thought he was just going to win the pawn back.
In the last example.. shouldnt be h4 be played first (to block g5? Which prevents h4 by taking and Splitting your Chain) ?
At first i learned 1-5 and I went from 1200 to 1900. After this I learned 6 - 10 and I am 2500. Thanks a lot
Thank you.
Thank you very much
Thanks for the video !
My pleasure!
Thanks
Incredible!!
i dont get the 1st example, black can just kick the night and go g6?
amazing
Thanks a lot! I beat two 2400 rated players using the principle you taught me!
Great job eric
7:27 even tho im 2000 im still learning things great video
Great igor! I beat two 2450 rated players using these concepts. Keep going!
now this is useful!
7:21 and g7 and open the dark squre bishop? Its bad move or?
4:45 u can also let him come to b4 once he does after we trade pawns capture his rook for free on the a-file
What’s that Sicilian line where …e5 is good and what1’s the difference?
Speaking of principle 1, I'm not sure if getting rid of your own pair of bishops even for a pair of beautifully positioned knights is beneficial.
Great vid ngl
I feel like I’m missing something crucial in trading. I might need to ask for your advice.
1. Get your knight to outposts
2. Secure a good knight
3. To take is a mistake
Love from Bangladesh 🇧🇩
In Principle-1, what if Nf5 is attacked by g6? Doesn't the possibility of being attacked by a pawn make it so that it's not really a nice outpost?
Agree g6 also allows development of bishop with tempo
Actually yes f5 is not the ideal square for a knight in that structure, it’s d5, an actual outpost where no pawn could chase it away. Nf5 prepares the fastest knight maneuver from d4 to d5, Nf5 Ne3 Nd5. This is why in the Najdorf black plays a6 first than play e5 to stop Bb5 check
Gotta know the Philidor for the last position
gracias chabón!
OK, So Mr Igor, my petition to start endgame series reached almost 100 likes and 10 signs. Is it enough for you to start the series?
you should try giving one course away as a demo. people are less hesitant to buy something if they have an idea of what they'll get.
The reason why i play posistional chess its because i want to slowly choke my opponent and rhe moment i get a good position i start my relentless slow attack to anoy them as much as possible im 1400 btw
