Looks tricky for sure, but I don't play the Traxler. The BGG Traxler line is a whole different beast with the e pawn gone. Even so though - I also don't play the fried liver, instead of Ng5 I'd play d5 Max Lange attack. Super deadly, tutorial on my channel called "there are more than 20 traps in this opening" :)

Is there a way to destroy Ruy Lopez as black without too much theory? I'm tired of playing against it as black and it always leads to some 30+ theory moves that lead to the same endgame. Or when they exchange immediately it's even more boring and I just want to abort the game after that. And nobody allows me to play the Marshall attack because they know it's not fun for them. Bruh

FM William Graif has a strong gambit you can play against the Ruy Lopez - but personally, since I play the Busch Gass Gambit, I completely avoid all Spanish openings, and either get my gambit or an Italian game, which is easier to handle :) I recommend at least trying the BGG if you like gambits for black. Shouldn't take too long to just show the different setups to remember, maybe 3 minutes haha. But - I do completely understand how hard it is to learn an opening, though it's a lot harder to learn when you are having to look through 15 different people's videos to learn the lines - at least you have only this one video to learn :) that's why I make these, so that 90% of what you will see against the Morra is in one video. 6:00 "If you lose the game from here... YOU'RE FIRED!" *HAHAHAHA!* I've been wanting to try this variation some time as this gambiteer DESPISES hypermodern pawn pushing no fun wussies. I played the 150 some time back and did better than without it, was considering the chinese variation which is strong too, but the byrne has the best stats. it also works against the modern. I even started theory for the byrne i think, but it's VERY HARD for me to memorize openings. i'm getting on this RIGHT NOW though as this potent a "main line" will work a lot better for me than getting crushed trying to claim space with the austrian which DOESN'T give white any king's gambit type attacks. the problem with powerful attacks is that opponents learn to dodge them. I used to CRUSH with the carokann mieses gambit (started by ACCIDENT and just followed the wins!) and englund hartlaub charlick gambit, but opponents are acting like gambit coward french poodles and declining a lot now the theory I have for black avoiding the byrne is: *1.e4 d6 2.d4* (all stats are for 1600-2000 rated games only) 2...Nf6 (49%) 3.Nc3 49:47@8.5m +0.7 (49% of games after 2.d4) 3...g6 (60%) 4.Bg5 Bg7 5.e5 Byrne Variation 64:32@300k = as of TODAY, 75% play 5...dxe5 with 68:28 stats! 3...c6 (13%) 4.f4 Czech Defense 53:43@408k +0.8 3...Nbd7 (12%) 4.f4 Lion Defense: Anti-Philidor 50:45@376k +0.7 2...g6 3.Nc3 Bg7 4.Bg5 Modern Defense Standard Defense 55:41@326k (15%) 2...c6 3.Nc3 51:45@1.6m +0.6 (8% of mainline) 2...Nd7 3.Nc3 Rat Defense: Antal Defense 51:46@824k +0.8 (7%) 2...e5? 3.Nc3 King’s Pawn Game: Maroczy Defense 53:43@302k +0.6 (7%) 2...e6 3.Nc3 Rat Defense: Small Center 55:41@1.7m +0.3 (6%) i never started playing it because of all the sidelines i never got to, but just learning the byrne and winging it in everything else (already doing that ANYWAYS) will STILL improve my LOUSY 40:60, if that pirc/modern stats the modern byrne (main line) goes: *1.e4 g6 2.d4 Bg7 3.Nc3 Modern Defense* 3…d6 4.Bg5 Standard Defense 57:40@226k +0.6 44% (4.h4!? 57:40) 4…Nf6 5.e5 Byrne Variation 64:32@302k +0.2 at 35% of games even including sidelines, the modern theory is much less daunting

Sound like my kind of guy! I love aggressive open chess, nothing bums me out more than a closed position haha. I will do everything in my power to open up the game and start attacking - glad you liked this video, intersting stats you got there. What's your rating might I ask? If you havent checked out my other vids as well, I think you may find them helpful against certain openings :) My caro vids are especially deadly.

@@chrislevy42069 I STARTED OUT 1840 after my provisional, CLIMBED to 1896 at one point and held in the 1800s about 85 games before getting dragged down to the 1600s clawing my way back to 1750s time and again only to get dragged back as low as 1500s sometimes even and don't trust that many of my opponents aren't cheating with ratings swings like that. I'm trying to claw back to 1700+ AGAIN today. I call tossing a bishop or a knight at 2 castle pawns etc. a "can opener attack". If you're REALLY like me, you've been there and done that. I played what I feel is my very best game a mieses against a high 1800 in which I *gag* repositioned a bishop before can opening and taking an EVENTUAL queen fork with the queen's knight black THOUGHT he would chase back taking an outpost on d6 and daring bishop to take that was SO vicious and positionally tight, I queen checked on his doorstep before taking and PROPERLY clearing out my opponents 2 bishops after CHOOSING queen takes black bishop so I can x ray his rook after he takes my retreated knight on the diagonal. closed games, namely slavwalling and scandinavian advance are why I quit playing a decade when my orange book didn't thing advance sicilian or closed french with the bishop released was "threatening enough" to warrant anything beyond a "develop your pieces and you'll be fine" had anyone taken my "I want to gambit my central pawn for initiative and open lines" begging seriously and told me about the hartlaub charlick (where albin doesn't have to be a mediocre mainline, but a fun sideline), I would be 1800+ by now for sure. even with players no longer falling for the Bxh2+ queen grab anymore, I still love room to swing my pieces with plenty of tactical potential like the classic QN+ run. I'm going to study bare bones theory for this just to get the essentials really memorized and do homework in analysis. trying to memorize an entire book with chess tempo's clunky spaced random book editor/trainer does more harm than good making me forever confused by move orders where systematic 1 line at a time until it's a reflex is what works best for me and mother eff that jumping to a position without the route I took to get to it for bearings crap too.

Well to be honest at first I was just trying to be different than other chess channels. I didnt really think I would ever get many views so I was just being myself, but as I see more comments like this and because I just got monetized, I will cut that stuff out of my future videos. Thanks for the feedback!

Yes, I wanted to combine LC9000 in the same video as the envy gambit, and also show some other declined lines. Pretty sure I reference him a couple times in the video.
