That was the best explanation of this game that I have ever heard. I will never play but have watched a lot and this clip was the difference between magic and science. Thanks a lot.
Excellent commentary, Prof. Gustavo, as usual. Thanks much! Your point about Jones' eye contact is specially good. Jones said in an interview right after that he wasn't going to let go of that 50/50 for the remaining 15 minutes of the fight.
Great Breakdown. Thank you! This is Not the Stage for a IBJJF- only-Guy. Especially not vs a Craig Jones. Craig is one of the best Leglockers... Ronaldo should know that.
Ronaldo mistake is that he didn’t pressure Craig’s guard to his left side. He needed to flatten Craig out while also blocking Craig from going under him
I don't understand the point of avoiding headquarters / top half guard if you're going against a leg locker. It's your best option by far, just go into the fire!
All of ronaldo's spazzy passing is based on exposing his legs. This is what happens when you only compete ibjjf; you get lazy and use passes that don't fucking work without the comfortable ruleset that protects 50% of your body. Guess what, he'll have to learn proper jiu jitsu now.
FloGrappling wants our money but they cant even spell ''defeating'' correctly 1:21 . Professionalize BJJ they said. We're a serious platform they said.
they suck, they strike channels of people that show a video piece where they fought in a competition that had they filming aswell... plus all the controversies like the red belt documentary
I'm sad. the black guy is more strong, with more muscles, with more bone density. This black boy will be unbeatable if he has better technique ... and in general all black athletes.
The eye contact of victory! Nice breakdown.
Thanks Ryan!
The eye contact that said "Checkmate, mate." xD
Thank you Professor! For an average Joe like myself, these match breakdowns are extremely helpful!
My pleasure Munny!
Craig looked at him and said, "I am the captain now!"
Basically :)

You are welcome Aaron!

Yes, he definitely looked committed to that :)
You never seem to amaze me friend. Your insight and ability to put what you see into words that everyone can understand are second to none.
Thanks friend, I appreciate you!
"Never cease to amaze" 💪
Beautiful analysis. This stuff makes bjj 300% better for me. Thank you!
Glad to know A Plus!
Professor ... I love the analysis!!!
Awesome Tommy!
Great narration as well!
Thank you!
Nice Breakdown! Thanks for the information of what to prioritize.
You are welcome Robert!
Great Breakdown. Thank you!

Absolutely!
Now he knows 😉😋
You'd think he could have gotten with the Ruotolos and taken a page out of their book. But I guess stepping on the leg kind of is?
thank you
Oh man that eye contact at the end!!!!!!
👍
Great breakdown
Thank you!
Thanks for this video!
You are welcome Adriel!
"Running away is not going to solve the problem."
I can still run a solid 400m. So I see Craig.. I'm running away to save my knees.
Great vid.
:)
Where do I pay my tuition? That was an excellent class in leglock defense!
Thank you RollVids!
Its amazing to me that in 2021 so many black belts still use "athletically spaz out" as a technique to try to get out of things.
It's incredible indeed!
I would have tapped by that look only.. Nice breakdown..
👍
😂😂😂😂😂😂 love picturing dude is in your half guard, gives you the look, and you're just like "ok. F it. You got me."
Craig Jones...enough said. DDS
💯
I thought it was Xande at first!
Ronaldo mistake is that he didn’t pressure Craig’s guard to his left side. He needed to flatten Craig out while also blocking Craig from going under him
Brazilian jiu-jitsu really needs to figure out that Z-guard.
Smooth break down to a smooth brain like me
👍
There are leg lock specialist in BJJ and then there is Craig Jones.
100%
I thought based on the title that somebody’s leg was about to get ripped off or something!
The Brazilians have had a hole in their game for decades when it comes to legs, Dean Lister won ADCC 2003 with legs, foreshadowed DDS....
True, most people in Brazil only train under IBJJF rules, even hobbyists.
I don't understand the point of avoiding headquarters / top half guard if you're going against a leg locker. It's your best option by far, just go into the fire!

True, most competitors will have to adapt to the new IBJJF rules allowing heel hooks now, it was about time.

I see errors in university textbooks all the time. Mistakes happen. Flo is STILL very unprofessional.
they suck, they strike channels of people that show a video piece where they fought in a competition that had they filming aswell... plus all the controversies like the red belt documentary
You can not give these legs lock guys so much space. These ibjjf guys keep standing up.
They are used to stand up and control the pants to do some speedy passes and misdirection
@@MMALeech true that. Ol jr tried to use his speed and strength.
@@smasher1234 100%
Standing up has worked very well for other people - Pena and Magahlaes (both against Leglocks Ryan).
@@aplus1080 I’m pretty sure old magslhaes got his leg broke by Jones. So it does not work.
Oss
Y compete with no training....
Look as if he had no training...
Definitely not enough leg lock training to go against someone like Jones.
Overrrated
