    This is the real Ashi Garami, Leg entanglement. Ude Garami (Arm entanglement aka. Kimura lock) but for the legs.

    I'm trying to find another technique like this, but you triangle both legs-- and push them both away from each other at the same time. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? I swear I've seen it on RUclips somewhere...

    Actually I can get to a z-lock position from top without reap. Would that sub be legal without the reap?

      You'd get DQ'd. But I cant picture anyone finishing this from a top position seeing as your opponent could just move there hips. I would like to be proven wrong.

      @@Frankyjiu it's hard to explain just with words, but I grapevine one leg, and then pull the opponent grapevined leg with two arms. It puts a tons of pressure on the knee joint. But it's not a straight knee bar, and it's not a slicer, so I never knew if it was legal (especially at blue belt level where I am)

      Yeah thats a tuff call. I'd definitely demonstrate it to your coach and ask.

    is this ibjjf legal ? (if yes, for any belt ?)

    • @TheElThomaso
      @TheElThomaso 4 года назад +2

      No, not for any belt, as it's a clear case of reaping.

      If it's practical and works on the street, it's prob illegal ibjjf...

      @@TheElThomaso yea you're right, I knew for the reap, but somehow slipped my mind that it's part of the tech 😅

      @@opparater2876 there are hundreds, maybe thousands of techniques that are ibjjf legal that would work in the streets. Have you ever even trained jiu jitsu?

      Why? In what sport? BJJ? MMA? No-Gi sub-only? This is no worse than a heel hook. Anywhere heel hooks are allowed, this should be too.
