    The bricklayer should have put a cricket behind the chimney. Great video and demonstration of your quality.

    Yes cricket needed, Overall it looks good, but some of the counter flashing not making me feel real confidant. What's up with the rubber on the cast iron plumbing stack? (at least it doesn't appear to be a Pvc boot) Never used O/W ridge vent, isn't their supposed to be some foam on the end?

    What’s the point of doing 2 layers of felt? Doesn’t seem like it does anything when you should be putting 2 courses of ice and water?

    How does one get in touch with a local OC Rep for an inspection? Portland Oregon. Thank you.

  • @AdventuresInTheSky

    I’ve heard that if you have ridge vent and turtle vents together that the air movement dynamics change and the ridge vent doesn’t do it’s job that well. Wonder if that’s true.

    • @MrLegit
      @MrLegit  3 года назад

      That is correct, you want to stick with one system.

    On the last ridge vent cap I would cement it instead of 4 nails with caulk on top. Tacky. JS.
    Also should have cricket behind any chimney over 26".
    Curious what you pay subs to install shingles?

    • @MrLegit

      The cemet on the last shingle is top notch bro. We pay around 110-120 for basic 1 layer tear off install. Then all the miscellaneous stuff.

      No need for nails. Laminate cement to both shingle pieces put in place with a lil push, voila looks cleaner. I've roofed in FL since 88.
      I live in TN now. All i can say is 😟😟. Tried working for HEP, and KING roofing. It's disappointing to see the workmanship.

    • @MrLegit
      @MrLegit  4 года назад

      @@bobbygolding2859 it depends where you live man. Vans are perfect for dry weather on 7 and 8s. Especially when it's hot, vans won't scar the roof.
      Cougar paws are wack IMHO.

    What if you can see the nail strips like 1/4 after roof is installed

    • @MrLegit
      @MrLegit  2 года назад

      Too much exposure? If too much is exposed, it could eventually leak. It's poor workmanship, but it will probably be fine if a little is exposed. Good luck.

    silly west coast roofers and their weird intake vents and open valleys!!! lmao i have only seen those intake vents like that one time in thousands of roofs! why do you guys use them and is it required in your area for some reason and not mine?

    • @MrLegit
      @MrLegit  4 года назад +1

      We add them on every roof we touch because I don't want to be responsible for intake issues. When we leave the roof it's bullet proof. It's not standard to do it like this, but then again we're far from standard.

    • @MrLegit
      @MrLegit  4 года назад +1

      @@Lifes_Apprentice just a few of us do the full system. We don't upsell. The price is the same because we use the same accessories and OC duration or higher on every roof we touch. We offer 1 roof that's it.
