Wow gorgeous. Great effects. I am brand new to tumblers. Its been a year with resin in molds. Design space is so complicated. I love how you explain what your doing but I am not techy at all. I love doing tumblers though. Thanks for sharing. hugs Sheryl 💙🎨💙
I have a single wood turner and I like to leave my cup on the turner as it spins and I move the whole turner up and down while I manipulate it. I've gotten some pretty cool swirls. I love your creations and the first time I used black i over did it 😂 im still a rookie but I learned my lesson
I’ve totally had to do that with the turner that is spring loaded and doesn’t come off. 🤣 I have been making cups for over a year, and I still mess up!!
This is absolutely amazing. I really love it. I am going to make this for a friend who is in the oil field. But his favorite color is blue. So if I wanted to add more blue to it at what step would I do that? I really love this!
It looks like the model that I purchased last year has been discontinued this appears to be the new version of it: amzn.to/2SLdfG8. Mine was model 5201, this is 5301.
I attempted alcohol ink turn yesterday, i dont know if my resin layer was too thin, but my ink drops were thin streaks that just kinda fell off and pooled on the table, and dint spread out accross the cup
I don't know if you are using anything to catch the runoff. May suggest that a plastic soda bottle could be cut long ways to catch it for you. Like rain gutters.
🥰 keep at it!! You’ll get it eventually! Here’s what I bought most recently. Jacquard Pinata Alcohol Inks... www.amazon.com/dp/B07FQWP8KK?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
This is beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing your talents and teaching us. I do have a question: do you have to put another layer of epoxy over this one, if you aren’t going to put a decal on it? Thanks again!
Just make sure your epoxy cures completely and that the epoxy you’re using is FDA compliant and you’ll be good! If your cups are tacky or sticky, then they’ll need to be stripped and redone. Otherwise, I cured epoxy could cause some people to have a reaction of some sort. 🙂
Is there a way to fix dry spots by putting another coat of epoxy without having to strip the cup? I did a fire tumbler and it looks great except one section on the bottom part has yellow circles where everything separated and it’s dry.
I actually just tap it with a little extra Apoxsee on my finger. I may not have done it in this video but I’ve definitely done it in lots of others and it almost always looks just fine. Sometimes it needs to be rubbed because there’s an oily spot.
Some pigment seems to like to float on top. I don’t know that any of them are supposed to actually be different types, but it definitely seems like each brand works a little differently.
Not very often. I keep a close eye when tilting and try not run my finger from the rim downward. It seems to squeegee the epoxy right into the rim if I do.
There can be a few reasons. Sometimes the mix ratio is off enough that it prevents a full cure. But for me, it’s usually temps or humidity. I have a shop light nearby to make sure it stays warmer in that area when the temps drop.
Jameshia Young maaaaaybe.....I’ve done a video of how to make inks pop on a dark base but the white wasn’t a color I was trying to make pop out, just using it to make the colors vibrant. Possibly with enough white though.
For the swirling you need enough to get movement. For the final coat you just need enough to get a good layer. So I usually start with 5-10 ml over whatever the ounce of the cup is. But I don’t put it all on at the beginning. So on a 20, I will typically mix up 25-30. But I only put about 20 on at first. I get an idea of how much movement I’ll get and add more if it isn’t thick enough. For final coat I’d say maybe 10 on a 20 ounce. More only if I need to even out any waves left in my swirling after it cured. Hope that makes sense!
Any type of mask that is rated to block out fumes. Once epoxy is heated some people have allergic reactions, myself included. Some people even have to wear respirator masks without any kind of heat involved. Sam have reactions with just mixing the epoxy in general.
Hii I have a question I attempted to do this tumbler !! & it was a mess haha practice makes perfect right . But I got super upset just cause it turned pink somehow ? And I just wanted to know if there’s any way of fixing this cup resin is already cured up but idk what to do now please help!!
Oh man!! I’m sorry it was a mess! I have heard that some black and white brands blend to a pink mess. I haven’t experienced it with the piñata inks but have heard it mentioned before.
watch this for about 3 to 6 minutes then pause and the cup looks like its still moving, slowly turning towards you though, so trippy. Optical illusion.
@@ThePurpleStitch , my bad. it was your white and the tim holtz black mixed. i guess the two different brands don't like each other lol. I tried it again with your two and it worked perfect. thanks for the awesome video.
hmm 🤔 .....had the epoxy been mixed either too long prior or mixed for too long? Both of those can cause it to cure too fast. Do you have a heat gun or any sort? That’s how I get mine to move. I do get “dry spots” frequently and have to literally touch them up by dabbing epoxy onto those areas.
The Purple Stitch yeah I used my heat gun and the epoxy did the swirl but was like it just mixed all my inks more rather than a cool swirl thing I’m not sure how to explain it very well
I wrap my cups in a warm towel or warm them a bit with my heat gun before applying epoxy. It goes on so smooth.
Yes! I notice a difference when I try to apply onto a cold cup., the epoxy is annoyingly thicker when it gets cold!
I love this cup. It’s gorgeous
That's beautiful! New sub! Just what I needed to see. Thank u

Good stuff! Thanks for sharing!!!
Beautiful! I really like how it turned out!!
looks awesome...hoping to do something like this but maybe add a tiny bit of teal to it to mimick a similar cup i made using a paint pour method
That would be so pretty!

I’ve totally had to do that with the turner that is spring loaded and doesn’t come off. 🤣 I have been making cups for over a year, and I still mess up!!
Instead of taking it off the Turner to get up and down movement, just TILT the whole thing attached to the TURNER , it works
You can definitely do that, and I have a few videos that I’ve done that and more that mention it. My main turner is too clunky to do that 😆
Its beautiful
Could do a acrylic mix like if u were going to do a pour painting and use that for the drops instead of the ink?
I definitely want to try a dirty pour sometime soon! I’ve seen one done with these colors and it was beautiful!
Very creative, looking forward to your new videos. Thanks for sharing
🥰 thank you & you’re welcome!
Super looking Outcome
If I just do a dark brown and white ya thick I get a caramel color for a coffee swirl effect?
This is gorgeous! I love it!
🥰 Thank you!!
I love it!!!!
Very cool! I tried this with pitch black and it turned pink where it mixed with the white. I think I need a different black to keep it grey.
I have heard of blacks turning pink and browns turning green before but not sure what brand are the culprit.
Thank you for the tutorial.
You’re welcome! 🙂
This is absolutely amazing. I really love it. I am going to make this for a friend who is in the oil field. But his favorite color is blue. So if I wanted to add more blue to it at what step would I do that? I really love this!
You can just swap out some of the black or white drops for blue when adding the inks.
Would you post a link to the mask you use, please?
It looks like the model that I purchased last year has been discontinued this appears to be the new version of it: amzn.to/2SLdfG8. Mine was model 5201, this is 5301.
Beautiful. I would never ignore your bottom
VERY NICE!!!
🥰thank you!!
How can i do a black and white swirl tumbler without getting gray on because of the color blend. Just black and white.
I just want to know how you got your epoxy with zero bubbles in the cup! Lol beautiful swirls!
The air bubbles tend to pop on their own with inks swirls (for the most part). But mostly, I think it is a little heat and sheer luck! 😆
Very nice!
Thank you so much!!
Did you sand it my send told me sand it I got white one like that and mine stick to it to bad
Beautiful cup...can I ask what you primed your cup with before applying epoxy? Thanks
Thank you!! Just spray paint. Either Krylon or Rustoleum 2x.
I attempted alcohol ink turn yesterday, i dont know if my resin layer was too thin, but my ink drops were thin streaks that just kinda fell off and pooled on the table, and dint spread out accross the cup
Do you put another coat of epoxy or is it finished
I like to put one more to make sure the inks don’t rub off onto anything else.
Could you use Brite tone instead of epoxy?
I’m honestly not familiar with that product, so I couldn’t say.
You can but it requires a lot of Coats just to get that nice glossy shine
I don't know if you are using anything to catch the runoff. May suggest that a plastic soda bottle could be cut long ways to catch it for you. Like rain gutters.
Would this work on a black tumbler
It should!
Thank you
Where do they sell the individual in white? I am amazed on your skills I keep messing up but I don't give up.

Yes ma’am. It helps seal it all in level it out.
Do you have to do anything to the cups so you can drink from them

Love it!! Once it is done spinning do you put a final coat on or just leave it as is? #newbiehere
I like to put one more coat to seal everything in.
@@ThePurpleStitch Thank You. Also if I wanted to apply vinyl do I need to sand it, apply vinyl, then last layer of epoxy?
You got it!!

What’s the difference in shallow sinking and deep sinking white?
Some pigment seems to like to float on top. I don’t know that any of them are supposed to actually be different types, but it definitely seems like each brand works a little differently.
I tried this last night using piñata blanco and black but it turned the white pink. Have you ever seen that!
Some blacks do a weird pink /blue/green change. It seems like it goes back to normal for some people but not always.
Does any epoxy get inside the cup?
Not very often. I keep a close eye when tilting and try not run my finger from the rim downward. It seems to squeegee the epoxy right into the rim if I do.
Where did you get the turner?
I made this one from a Pinterest tutorial about 3 years ago. Whenever I started….I’ve lost track of time. 😂
what causes the tumblers to be sticky after a couple daysbof drying im having trouble with cups being sticky to the touch ?
There can be a few reasons. Sometimes the mix ratio is off enough that it prevents a full cure. But for me, it’s usually temps or humidity. I have a shop light nearby to make sure it stays warmer in that area when the temps drop.
@@ThePurpleStitch thank you for the info i love your tumblers you make there amazing
Would I be able to create this same design with those inks but a black base?
Jameshia Young maaaaaybe.....I’ve done a video of how to make inks pop on a dark base but the white wasn’t a color I was trying to make pop out, just using it to make the colors vibrant. Possibly with enough white though.
The Purple Stitch I'm gonna try it out and see. A customer wants a raiders cup and I'm not sure how to do it
Where do you find the foam for this size of cup? I tried a pool noodle and the cup slips off. Thanks
This is a skinny pool noodle. I think I got it maybe at dollar tree?
How long do you let it spin before putting the final layer of epoxy on?
Usually I wait about 8 hours between coats.
What is the white before you put the epoxy ?
Just spray paint base.
how much epoxy should I mix for this would u say? I have the same cup
also how much for the last coat of epoxy

Any type of mask that is rated to block out fumes. Once epoxy is heated some people have allergic reactions, myself included. Some people even have to wear respirator masks without any kind of heat involved. Sam have reactions with just mixing the epoxy in general.
How do you make the cups go around
Search cuptisserie or tumbler turner on Etsy/amazon/eBay and you’ll find hundreds of options. 🙂
What brand of alcohol ink do you use? The brand I have doesn’t work well.
Mostly piñata. Some Tim Holtz. 😊
I love this!
🥰 thank you!!

DaifukuYugsu22 I totally have that happen when I stare at a glitter cup! Everything feels like it’s moving when I look away!
what am I doing wrong? I used same brand inks over a white cup and when they mix they turn light pink instead of grey. thanks
Mary Kemp PINK!!??!!?? That’s so weird! I wish I could tell you the cause but I’ve never had anything but red turn pink when I added white. 😩
@@ThePurpleStitch , my bad. it was your white and the tim holtz black mixed. i guess the two different brands don't like each other lol. I tried it again with your two and it worked perfect. thanks for the awesome video.
Mary Kemp oh yay!! I have mixed ink brands before but don’t have a TH black.
If you use a lot of a color I’d get the big bottle of it from piñata it’s cheaper
I will definitely look into the larger bottles. I never imagined I’d use SO MUCH white ink! 😆
I tried to do this cup and mine did not turn out anything like yours. I have no idea what I did wrong
Oh no!!! Was there enough epoxy? Or maybe too much?
The Purple Stitch I’m not sure
The Purple Stitch -it dried really quickly in some places but like my colors kept mixing so the entire cup is a grey mess

I heard some one say " glitter is the crafters herpes ' 🤣🤣
Rebecca James I say glitter herpes a LOT! 🤣
Way to much black ink, should of just spray painted the cup black
