  • My Nord Piano is great but recently a few notes make a sharp clacking noise on release of the key. On opening the keyboard I found that the foam under the weights had gone stiff. Here is my way of a fix. I hope it will last..!

I had a different problem, but this did help me with my keyboard (TP/400) too.

Hi, quick question, I accidentally spilt juice on my nord piano 5, is it going to be a problem?

Hi, spilling juice on a piano ... possibly the foam will suffer and clacking could occur later. Keep your fingers crossed.

Crazy how primitive and cheap the key action of these Nords keyboards are using the Fatar mechanism. They can do so much better. Just look at the Kawai NV10S using the Grand Feel III action. Seriously, Kawai Grand Feel III should be the minimum standard on all keyboards, especially with Nords being known for being cheap stage keyboards right? Damn, sell both your kidneys and still get that rubbish Fatar action. 😬😬😬

I do not agree. At home or in the studio I want an acoustic piano, and if I need it a digital one that weighs 34 kg. But if I have to move it often I don't want it to exceed 20 kg and it's normal for me to look for a compromise between keybed and transportability.

@@andreanarcisi97 I agree on weight and you buy for your particular needs. But the price of Nord keyboards, even the Nord Grand, which is a keyboard expected to be a home decor rather than a traveling stage keyboard, the keyboard mechanism is awfully cheap for the premium price.

How long time it will work you think?

It depends on the quality of the foam strips you are using. I used the Tesa Moll Standard Small. So far I have not had any noise in my piano. Good luck, and thanks for sharing. Etienne
