Thanks Shawn. I was literally looking for my receipt for my 6HP when I found your video because I have the same problem. I was really concerned because I bought it used. I will give this a try.

Thanks for this helpful video! I had that same problem with my Electro 6 HP. I made the same operation and it seems to be ok now (at least for a while 🙂)

Seems like it's something that may need to be done every couple of years, depending on how dry your environment is!

I once had the experience that WD40 can attack plastic and this could dissolve (depending on the plastic). Since then I only use silicone grease for such cases.

Agreed - I definitely would NOT use WD40 for this repair.. silicone grease only and in very small amounts!

2 questions. What model Nord? Could you show the dismantel process? What screws and what to be carefull of?

    Hello Shaun!
Your video is very good and will be very useful for users of HP keys. Can you tell me if the Nord Stage 2 EX HP76 keys are simple to fix that too? I intend to do the same process to remove them and apply the grease.
Thank you for now. A hug from Brazil

From my knowledge they use a similar keybed that would benefit from the same process! Glad this video helped!

I’m experiencing something similar on a brand new Stage 3 76HP.
Would this help for that keybed?
I’m a bit dubious to open it up as it’s only a few weeks old. Not sure if I take it bake to the retailer in Hong Kong with they ship it back to Nord in Europe!

Thanks for helpful video... I have the same problem but keys like lighter than first octave keys.. You had same problem or just the noisy? I wanna be sure is it same problem or not before I replace my keyboard...

I know the weighted key bed is supposed to be slightly heavier in the lower octaves than the higher octaves, but nothing too drastic. I don’t think I’ve experienced what you’re referencing.

Do you think one will get the same problem on the stage 4 ? I’m about to get a 73HA but I’m afraid it happens the same ! I had an Electro 5hp and this drove me crazy!

Hey I recently got the HA73 and I did have this same issue with the F1 key clanking. I had to take the key off and adjust a few pieces to make it stop. I'd opt into the compact moving forward

Would this apply to a Nord Piano 5? I get huge knocking sound as I release the key on certain keys. Almost as if the key is hitting the metal roof of the board. Very loud clank sound!

Seems like the felt that dampens the key hits on the inside may have shifted. Might be an easy adjustment to make once you open it up. The grease technique mainly helps alleviate the plastic on plastic sound.
