@@SwfarriersI recently started to see your videos. I very like it. I was riding horse when I was teenager. I want riding horse again. Thanks for videos. Greetings from Hungary. 😊

This was great. I would have enjoyed seeing the entire shoeing on the horse with the special padded shoes. That was very interesting. I wanted to see the finished fit on each hoof. Thank yoh for sharing your day with us.
I have an amazing female farrier here in the US and I can see she is very passionate about what she is doing. It's great to see that there are others out there like you who are keeping up this fine art ❤
I am loving these new RUclips installments! The running commentary and interaction with Tommy, occasional owners, and, of course the horses. I have often wondered what you do to stay fit, but then happened upon "A day in the Life" and that explains the care you take with your physical health as well. Thank you so much for expanding your reach and our knowledge, Sam and Tom.
Aww❤ this was the best video yet! Loved seeing all the fun and silly parts and how you introduced each of the horses. That is some hard labor for one day!! What a good team you guys make.👏
Stumbled across your channel tonight. With tech stuff, I'm sort of like the ol' 4 gated horse... fart, start, stumble, & fall. So I subscribed, too. Enjoyed the video. 13 sets of shoes is a long day. Your joy in your work reminds me of The Hoof GP aka Graeme Parker, over in Scotland. (I probably didn't spell his first name right but I tried. 😊) His last name was easy, it happens to be my second Great Grandson's first name. 14 years to practice spelling it correctly does help.😊 Love seeing the horses. It’s amazing how quickly and precisely you work, as if you’ve been doing this for 100 years. I’ve never seen anyone work so fast while doing such an amazing job. You even move with the horses, catch all their pullbacks and quick movements. It’s no wonder why you stay so fit wrestling with these giant beasts day after day. Well done! It’s fun to watch you work,

Thank you for sharing a day in the life of a farrier - very interesting to watch the magic happen and soooo much skill in keeping the horses calm ☺️ such a wonderful trade and a lot of care and attention to proper shoe fitting - well done to you both 👑👑👏👏
Watching from Vancouver 🇨🇦 Beautiful horses, great video! North Yorkshire was my home 14 years ago, so its lovely hear northern accents and see snippets of the great land. Loved this video ❤
What a dream job!! Your patience with these horses show your love towards them. You love you job!! So many people don't liking their jobs, whey do something that. You don't like what you're doing the. Change it!!❤❤❤😊
The hot shoeing process is so interesting to see, not something our farriers in the rural western U.S. even offered. Our horses would definitely have gotten cheeky or fidgety about it, which is putting it nicely (in cowboy vernacular they would have "thrown a sh** fit").
Sam, I think it would be interesting for you to take viewer's questions about your experience of the profession: how did you decide to go into this line of work; what are the greatest challenges; etc.......
So informative. I forgot how much hard work and manual effort goes into it. Been a few years now since I’ve owned my own horses. Was feeling all nostalgic just there. Great to see the trade being carried on in a world that’s now obsessed with digital age. Looking forward to seeing more videos. Let’s hope it inspires a new generation to Apprenticeship into this industry and rewarding carer area.
The channel is coming along great! I’ve been wondering if you just have the most chill horses for clients of anyone I know. Nice to see there’s some spice in your book. I always felt bad for my farrier because almost all of mine were full of pepper on trim/shoe days. Even after working them! Cheers to the shooters and editors as well.
I would be most interested and pleased to hear what you are doing as you work. For some crazy reason watching caring for horse feet is so cool to see. It’s like the Hoof GP out of Ireland. He works on cows feet/ hooves. Really really interesting.
Omg the very beginning fuuuuuu 🤣 and the hawk tuah BWA HAHA. Thank you for sharing your days with us. It's really interesting to watch and amazing to see how calm you keep sassy horses. 😁
I really like seeing Tom struggle a bit. Its educational for him. And It is pure entertainment for me... i struggled for many years before i got good at what i do. Please dont tell him i think he is exceptional all round. His head will swell 4 times normal and no one could fit in the room with him. Cocky boy he'd be... everyone loves Tom. Even i love the lad. For a possible future RUclips installment, I would enjoy hearing a conversation between the two of you about being an apprentice and a mentor in the farrier profession. Here are some of my questions. 1. How is an apprentice “spotted” or chosen? T-Did you apply? What was your strongest “selling point” to Sam? 2. S-What did you see in T that qualified him? Any concerns that T has disqualified in the course of his work? 3. T-Where are you in your apprenticeship? Beginning? Middle? End? 4. S-What does T do really well? What’s his biggest challenge. If you reflect on your own apprenticeship, how are the two of you the same? Different? 5. T-Of the many things Sam has taught you, what stands out as being the most significant in helping you learn the craft? In building your self-confidence? 6. T-Did you grow up around horses? If not, has it been a serious disadvantage? Did you have to get over any fears or any sense of intimidation? (By the horses, not Sam!) 7. S-How many apprentices have you had? Are they all still in the profession? Any women? 8. T-Will you have to pass any exams at the end of your apprentice-ship? If so, are they both written and demonstrative? 9. For both-Any serious injuries as a result of your work? 10. T- Does Sam ever cuss or are we just getting the “sanitized” version of his commentary? And on and on and on. Thanks for considering the possibility.
