Hello! Writing from North Dakota, USA. I had miniature donkeys for many years and they are highly intelligent! They can also be incredibly loving and affectionate and the ultimate little pranksters! Coyotes are terrified of them and a lot of people in my area have them because of this. They are great "guard" animals for your yard! But mine were mainly family pets and they were a true joy to have!! They were exceptionally gentle and my kids loved playing hide and seek with them!
I really enjoy and appreciate your videos. I have many many fond memories of Yorkshire and the beautiful countryside. I’m a Londoner living in Calgary Alberta since 1986. We have absolutely beautiful countryside here too and this is horse country. Quite near here we have a large herd of wild horses and they are majestic. Whenever I need a break from the doom and gloom of what’s going on across the border I watch quite a few of your videos just because of the pure joy of watching your work. It’s a skill that needs to be promoted, there’s not many farriers left and that’s a great shame. Thanks for sharing your work and the laughs and for lifting us back into a world of love, laughter and reality.❤️🇨🇦

It is nice of you to travel farther than you prefer and do work in a muddy field that 33:25 you would prefer not. I think I heard you state that other Farriers would not come to do her horses/donkeys. So if Sam and Tom would not what would she do? Have to put them in a trailer and drive to the Farrier? I love the education. Keep it up. Love the channel. Thanks.
Sam- donkeys are actually very sensitive, emotional beings. They're so stoic! Hopefully you'll get some more time around them to learn their true nature.
Donkeys are actually used for livestock protection as they are very territorial. Interesting facts though, Donkeys aren’t waterproof (unlike horses), so they do need rugs and/or shelter in bad weather. We always say they have an ear button 😂, if you touch a donkey on their “forehead”, their ears will automatically lie flat backwards, if a donkey is walking through low branches etc, lying their ears back stops their big ears from being caught on anything.
Nice warm weather here in Australia and a lot of horses and donkeys. Fun fact :- Donkeys were introduced to Australia from Africa in 1866 to work as pack animals. Feral donkeys are common in the Katherine region of the Northern Territory (NT). It is estimated there are tens of thousands of feral donkeys in the arid zones of Central Australia, Western Australia and the Top End.

When I traveled to Ireland in 2014, I left my heart there! aaaaand nice big boots. 😉🤪
That was a bit of rough one. Might have been easier to keep the big donkey up top while you did the little guy? The little one was glued to the bigger ones side. Ha. That little colt and Jenny could use some more handling and their feet picked up. Great job. Sam you're quite a horse whisperer. You really understand how to approach them, gentle them and work with their temperaments. So enjoyable to watch you also teaching Tom. I would have liked to see you finish out that hoof on the 2 year old with the beginning of the abscess and a rolled over heel/confirmation. You haven't talked about the confirmation much. Thank you.

@swfarriers Naming a horse Chaos...😂 The video shows how important it is for the OWNER to handle and work with a baby horse, to prepare for the farrier and a lifetime of having its feet picked up. Sam hung in there and got it done, but the wrestling match it took means he might not be back. Who would blame him?

Liked & subscribed! Is apparent to see both of you show great love for donkeys and horses. Especially first time for an animal to have his hooves trimmed. Your kindness and patience won over them. Where can I get that mud for face again? 😆🥰
As a former farm owner and breeder, I'll give you a tip, but the baby towards a wall, and use a " helper " that help holding the baby towards the wall.
We did a herd of wild "weanlings" that way.
Wow what beautiful scenery. Thanks for taking us with you & Tom❤❤❤
I just love listening to your banter and would watch your videos even if you were working on cars or planting trees, after a long day of work (in health care) you put a smile on my face 🥰
Aww so nice of you to help them out ❤ might not have been ideal conditions for you but made for a beautiful video! Loved it as always!
Seriously, Sam?!? I can't with you. "Grab her gently... Just tickle her a lil bit. Tickle her. Don't just go in and grab, Tom. Just ease yourself in." I'm crying!! 😆🤣BWA HAHAHAHAHA Anyway..... Back from my mom's and hiking/running (my legs are dead😳), start the video and the v LOG 🤣opens up with that unbelievably happy smile of yours that's been scored on the hearts of so many! Great start to another fun video! So many thoughts on this one.... The sun suits you! Got a cute lil "ass" in the video as well! 😏Beautiful landscape! Makes me want to go back! When I traveled to Ireland in 2014, I left my heart there! aaaaand nice big boots. 😉🤪
We need 1,000 views/likes so Tom can have his Mud Bath, 😅😅😅
That was a bit of rough one. Might have been easier to keep the big donkey up top while you did the little guy? The little one was glued to the bigger ones side. Ha.
That little colt and Jenny could use some more handling and their feet picked up. Great job. Sam you're quite a horse whisperer. You really understand how to approach them, gentle them and work with their temperaments. So enjoyable to watch you also teaching Tom.
I would have liked to see you finish out that hoof on the 2 year old with the beginning of the abscess and a rolled over heel/confirmation. You haven't talked about the confirmation much. Thank you.
Hahaha "donkey's do not have much emotion" My three have more personality than any horse I have ever met. Very affectionate, loving, funny and of course sassy 🙂 Love your channel ❤ Sam seeing you with donkey's is HOT 🔥 🔥🔥
You guys have done a good deed for your customer and her stock. I am sure she appreciated for skill and care. Thank you for sharing.🐴🐴
You both have such big hearts and do so much for so many always with a great sense of humor and a big smile! You make the best out of what your dealt and this channel brings so many so much joy! Keep up the amazing work! Also, I have learned so much from this channel!!!
Tom doesn't have the finesse that Sam does but he is funny. Loved the Shrek impersonation! You guys are so funny. I love the videos and i don't even have a horse. Some of my friend's are Jacks though!
❤ from USA
She lived up to her namesake "Chaos". That is an awful name. Such a beautiful lanscape you guys do such a great job looking after the horses and donkeys.
Such a beautiful day to being out and about. I'm glad you guys had a good experience!
Idk about you guys but I am sooo pumped to see the new truck all fitted out!!
Hello Yorkshire lads from America! Love your videos and the Yorkshire countryside. Nothing quite like it as I’ve lived around Yorkshire for a bit before moving back to the States. Keep up the good work and love the smiles you have as you work away! Ta ra love x
Beautiful countryside. Almost as pretty as Missouri countryside...😊
Thoroughly enjoy watching your channel!
? Missouri? Not even close.
Love this banter. Tom sounded like Shrek when he was saying “ eh Donkey”…..
😂😂
Always a good day, when I see new vlog is coming. Real pleasure to see your work boys. Beautiful nature, sunny day and a lot of smiles🔥
You two are sweethearts and so much fun to watch. Ya make my day😊❤
@swfarriers Naming a horse Chaos...😂 The video shows how important it is for the OWNER to handle and work with a baby horse, to prepare for the farrier and a lifetime of having its feet picked up. Sam hung in there and got it done, but the wrestling match it took means he might not be back. Who would blame him?
You guys are awesome with the Donkeys. 🫏 👏 The countryside is so beautiful there. I love it the hills and the green grass along with the sunshine. 🌞 it is truly beautiful. Sincerely, Karen Jetters
I know you can trim a donkey's hooves, but no shoe. This should be interesting.
I love the back and forth with you too!😂😂😂❤❤
