@@StringerBellz The M2 is a previous generation car and will be out of production within a year or so and is placed at a different price point. The F40 M135i bears the series and model designation of the older F2x cars and with no sign of another 6 cylinder, RWD hatch/small coupe on the horizon it is certainly meant to be a replacement in BMW's eyes.
Looks so much better, I personally don’t like lowered car as daily driver but this car needed that, hopefully you guys come up with final adjustments that is good as a daily driver as well. All we need more noise, it’s never going to be sound as good as b58 but it’s has potential.
* Simply put, the OEM struts and shocks are valved to control the length and rebound of the factory coil springs. Changing to a lowering spring with a different rate and height will force the OEM dampeners to work outside of their intended operating range and thereby cause them to wear very fast and ride harshly.
Dampers are not valved to work over a specific range other than the full open length to closed length. On a conventional OEM damper the valving works the same from the top of the stroke to the bottom. Some variants can be adjusted electronically to change the viscosity of the damper oil, or the valving itself however even the majority of these are not ‘position’ dependant ‘ie whether the car sits lower or higher. It must be remembered too that that a lot of vehicle manufacturers use the same dampers across a range of vehicles and on a number of them (say Bluemotion models from VW) sit at a lower ride height to improve fuel efficiency without compromising ride quality. This is also true when ‘lifting’ the car and the same rules therefore apply with our Pro-Lift kits too. Eibach would never design a kit whether it be for our catalogue parts or private label offerings, that compromised the handling of the vehicle. With a number of modern vehicle designs the packaging constraints of the suspension means that there is often limited travel in the dampers. However where required we will work to change the original bump stops/spring aid, plus of course utilising our famous progressive spring designs, to combine to retain ride quality and damper travel (using shorter appropriate bump stops). It must be understood that vehicles from the factory are often a compromise of cost, ride, and handling with the emphasis these days very much being on the side of cost and a what is deemed to be ‘safe’ handling characteristic of progressive understeer. We shift that balance more to the handling side of the scale whilst engineering a design that does not overly compromise the ride quality, or indeed cause any damage to original suspension componentry. Our kits are developed to work with the original equipment in such a way as to not adversely affect the lifespan of dampers etc. From Eibach
Sorry. BMW have stuck a finger up to customers by only making this a five door shopping car. I'm surprised Motech are sticking with development. Given that the main core of M140 customers won't give it a second look.
Darren Boston We have a M140i SE 30k is a lot of cash these figures being thrown around are silly! Hot hatches are 28k -32k never 40k £300 - £400 pcm simple. It’s not saving it’s simply what they are worth! Try getting more than 20k for a 3 year old model and see what happens I know I’ve owned loads of new cars Check my channel
Scott, correct, however, BMW are straying towards Audi not the other way round. The only thing that made the BMW was rear wheel drive and all that comes with that. Audi looks better, Audi has better interior, both now drive similar. 👍
It looks ok but sadly it's essentially quite ugly and exactly the same as all the other hot hatches in terms of performance . I think you've got your work cut out with this one.
Motech Performance and to be fair if anyone can make it look and ride better then I've got no doubt you guys can. I will stay tuned to see how it goes👍
Mint👌it really is. Some people might not like the new one but I just think it is beautiful.
Glad you like it 👍
It's not a bad looking car, but as a replacement for the F2x series it falls short on what made them so popular.
@@Bestwick1983 but its not really a replacement for the m140i. Otherwise BMW would just be stealing potential customers from the M2

Having seen this the other day it looks great on the lowering springs and spacers. Following the project!

There just could be a glimmer of hope for this car 👍🏻 nice 1 lads 😉
Scott thanks dude
This car is awesome, I subscribed since u guys bought this car as I’m intrigued by what u guys do with it
Yaseen Essack 👍

Hope it goes well lads, BMW dropped a ball with this one and will lose a lot of custom I suspect. Audi S3 all day long.....
Audi's way too may fake vents, uninspiring looks... Great interiors but that's it❗
