    I love my BMW M135i as most of you know, with my Alpine Petrol heads tour coming up I fancied giving my M lite a bit more go. I wanted it to handle slightly better, slow down quicker and accelerate a bit harder. A quick call to Mike at Motech solved all of my problems, less than a week later the car was booked in at Motech Performance near Northampton and my car was up in the air.
    I will report back about how the car is once i'm on the Petrolheads trip, all I can say now is that it has been improved in all areas I wanted :-)
    Special thanks to Motech Performance -

    Another great episode Joe!! It's one of the best feelings falling back in love with a car you perhaps ignore or take for granted. A few people have mentioned exhaust, I think centre section needs to be done at least, I've been looking at the full system from BCS which is valved too so not loud for the times when you need it to be subtle! Keep up the good work👌🏼

    Next mods I'd say is a front splitter and rear spoiler that is slightly more aggressive... maybe some bigger exhaust tips just to make the rear end more aggressive... sometimes the exhaust look as if they've been taken straight from a 118D and placed on to this

    Looks so much better without losing the stealthy 'Sleeper' vibe - be really interesting to see how much better it drives on the Eibachs, Remus kit & slightly wider track. Brake lines are always a great idea but not sure about the EBC yellow stuff pads - I used those before if fitted my big brakes, tried the red stuff too but found them a bit disappointing, especially after repeated heavy braking. I switched to Ferodo DS2500 pads and they're fantastic as an OEM upgrade, just a thought bud.👍👍
    Next Mods - I'd say fit a Quaife slippy diff and an exhaust system - that'll do the trick very nicely - I've got a Quaife in the Saab and it's an absolute riot, I know that the BMWs respond really well to them too.

    So funny how the torque wrench instantly clicks after he's windy gunned the rims up. Not particularly professional from Motech.
    Rims should only be removed with a windy gun. They should never but put back on with one. Always put back on with hand pressure....I.e. spider wrench and torque wrench. 👍🏼
    Sorry if people think I'm nit picking but this method Motech are using could seriously screw you over if you get a flat Joe on your trip. 👍🏼

      I was also always taught to do it in a star pattern for equal distribution of the pressure when tightening. I thought the wheel leaning on the back of that sierra was a bit unprofessional too.

    very interesting video Joe! interested to know why you went for the Remus Powerizer...just looked at the price £520 wow! how come you didn't go for the JB4? its alot cheaper and gives more impressive power gains..highly reviewed on babybmw..

  • @Holdeenio
    @Holdeenio 7 лет назад +16

    Amazing. You've done a few of the mods I've been considering. Definetly look into something for the exhaust as like my 140i it lacks a bit of drama. I've seen people remove the centre section (like 8lowsy on RUclips) there is a straight pipe part out there which gives a bit more noise and pops. I'd definitely look at getting the quaife LSD too. I'd have it already if I had the cash handy. Swan sell it online 😁... That would make this the practical M2 slayer 😉

    • @SeemlyTv
      @SeemlyTv 7 лет назад +1

    What was the reason for going for a plug in engine tuning solution rather than a proper remap? Generally plug-ins can only "fool" the car into thinking some variables have changed. Updating the core ECU programming for a more performance oriented map is always going to be a neater and higher quality solution.

    Joe, im not gay but i love you 😜
    You have my taste of cars.
    I drive a M140i Xdrive with 367 hp and 586 nm.
    0-60 in 4.1 sec.
    Standard power tested on the bench.
    Bmw is known to have more power then they say.
    My dream is an M3, but even secondhand they are to expensive for me.
    Running costs off the roof.
    And an M2 is also nice but no improvement in power compared to my M140i Xdrive.
    If i just had a bit more cash i could get an M3.
    It continues to be my wish.
    Love you and your detailed clips about the beemers man!

I'm from Mexico and normally order everything from the US, but they don't have the M135i down there, so I search everything as if it was for the M235i (guessing they use same pad type) and the yellow stuff appear as unavailable for the M235i. declaring mods is a must. if you dont declare them and have a serious accident not only does it void your insurance but you will be left with the hefty cost of repairs . have you tried an insurance company that specialises in modified/ performance cars? as some companies dont insure for mods.

      Yeah, I tried numerous ones when mine had a remap and they all wanted 2k or more :/ when they'll do a Golf R with the same BHP for 1k??

    Hi Joe, have you done a video of your 135 after the Motech mods with 0-60 times to compare to before?

    Scrap that Remus tuning box and get yourself a JB4 tuning box. It's the best tuning box out there.
